Parallax: HEY, HECTOR.
Hector Hammond: Hey, Parallax.
Parallax: I AM GOING TO OA TO EAT EVERYBODY. WHAT ARE YOU UP TO?
Hector Hammond: Well, you made me evil, so I'm going to **** around with Hal Jordan and Blake Lively because of some tenuous connection in our past that the movie only alluded to like five minutes ago,
Parallax: OKAY, COOL. HEY, HAL JORDAN WEARS THE RING OF THE DUDE WHO IMPRISONED ME, RIGHT? I THINK I'LL COME TO EARTH, EAT HIM AND ALL OF HUMANITY, AND THEN I'LL BE POWERFUL ENOUGH TO GO TO OA AND DEFEAT THE GUARDIANS AND ALL THE GREEN LANTERNS!
Hector Hammond: ...
Parallax: WHAT.
Hector Hammond: ...doesn't that mean you aren't powerful enough to defeat the Guardians and Green Lanterns right now?
Parallax: WELL, YES.
Hector Hammond: So... why were you going to Oa?
(pause)
Parallax: OH ****! I SEE WHAT YOU MEAN! I WAS ABOUT TO GET MY ASS KICKED!
Hector Hammond: Yeah, you were!
Parallax: I'M SO GLAD I CALLED!

:lmao:

OFWGKTA concert was okay, but when comparing them to all the other shows i saw this year, it's the worst one.

Walking Dead premiere was amazing

My black pen just burst on me, spilling unsightly drops of gooey black in on the left crotch zone of a good pair of jeans .

An omen perhaps?

An omen of what? That you'll someday wet yourself with viscous black goo? And presumably die of some kind of penis-centric cancer shortly afterward?

oh god, i really hope i don't die of penis cancer. that would kill me...

I think it's a sign that a black guy's gonna **** all over Sandy any day now. Any. Day. Now.

Was he seriously saying his favorite Hal scenes were in the books he wrote?

Why do you have to ask this?

You know he's basically just an arrogant little fantasy fiction writer who was actually given his character of choice...

This is an apt description of Johns these days.

Whatever happened to the guy who did Stars and STRIPE, Flash and JSA from back in the day?

He's actually a pretty damn good story-teller, it's just a lot of his concepts suck and reek of his Silver Age fanboy love.

I've cringed at a lot of the crap ideas he's had but he paces stuff well.

I'm not surprised there are people who love his stuff, it's not my thing... I just think a lot of the people who do like his stuff aren't familiar with too much else, because that's the only explanation I can come up with for people overlooking his treatment of Wally and Kyle.

What a load of horse turds.

So I'm not familiar with too much else? Now you're just making **** up.

You guys can go for another couple of pages with your hipster whining but the fact of the matter is ... he sells well. He writes some fun stories featuring a Green Lantern a lot of people seem to like. Hal Jordan.

Like Kyle and Wally all you want but don't say it's because we "aren't familiar with too much else."

:hal: :hal: :hal:

"Yeah. I like Kyle and Wally. You probably haven't heard of them. Not A LOT of people have."

:D

His comics sell well because DC make sure they are THE books of the company.

The majority of comic book readers are zombies. They'll buy anything that is "important" or is the "flagship" book.

Johns' Green Lantern would have been a top seller no matter the character, given it's elevation to being the most important book on the shelves, status quo/events wise.

Same can be said of Bendis' Avengers.

Marvel or DC say "buy this book! it's the most important book out there and all the events spin off from it". And the readers gladly gobble them up.

What are you talking about?

This industry is dieing a slow death. Zombies? Zombies go to the Pirate Bay and gorge. People who lay down money like what they like. No matter how much DC or Marvel say how important it is.

How'd Fear Itself do?

And I'm sure the publishers who want to make money put importance on all of the titles. An air of importance hasn't helped Wonder Woman.

Your faith in the importance of presentation is romantic.

Paranormal Activity 3 is out this week!

I'll be going to see it for sure. And then i will be unable to sleep for weeks to come :csad:

Speaking of spooky movies I'm excited for 'Evidence' as well. It's another found footage style movie but it looks interesting and different and the trailer caught my interest

Milk chocolate tastes cheap and like sugar. :csad: Even mass produced dark chocolate tastes overly sugar-y. Stay away from anything Hershey's, Nestle and the like unless it's their more specialized 'fancier' brands, and even then....
Besides, the best dark chocolate comes from overseas where they have much stricter definitions of chocolate than we do over here in terms of dry cocoa solids in their chocolate.

Dark Chocolate tastes like cocoa. I don't go much higher than 70%, and then only on special occasions or if the cocoa is exceptional. For recreational eating I keep it around 60%, and sometimes spring for the flavors. My current favorite is salt/dark chocolate.

It's not like you eat a candy bar of dark chocolate either. :o just a square... and you let each bite play around in your mouth to get full flavor.

...

Reading all that gave me chocolate cravings. I just tried to eat a co worker hallucinating that they were a giant chocolate snack

Uh... really well. It's been in the top ten consistently and September's issue only dropped below the top 5 because it had to compete with the titles DC's marketing has been telling people are important from the New 52.
