The unAUTHENTIC DC Boards Lounge version 8.7

So Gamefly shipped Uncharted 1 instead of Saint's Row 3. Whatever, I ain't even mad. Is it half as fun as Uncharted 3 looks?

It's as fun but not as ambitious. When I play Uncharted now (and the whole franchise is one of the very, very few that I play repeatedly), it feels like a test run for the sheer development badassery of U2 and U3. Naughty Dog seemed to be trying out the formula first, and then when they saw it worked, they were like, "All right, now let's just f*** around and see what kind of bats***-insane stuff we can do with this hardware" for the next games. There's nothing like the moving train levels of U2 or crazy-ass set pieces and roiling ocean levels of U3, but it's still a lot of fun and it tells a pretty solid story.

I still rank U2 as the best of the franchise, though.

Have you only played U3? If so, just prepare yourself for Drake and Elena to dance around a relationship in every other game, just as they do in U3. It's the one really annoying part of that series for me. They literally broke them up between each game to rehash that same "will they/won't they" tension every time.

Man, I kind of want the Saints Row the Third soundtrack. The songs that play when you're shopping in some of the stores are awesome.

pretty solid soundtrack all around....one of the better game soundtracks Ive heard in some time

I like the way a lot of the music is placed in the game....the penthouse mission and one of the last missions in particular

I need to find that Mos Def song on the radio. I somehow missed it on my recent Mos Def download binge.

No, I just watched somebody play the part where some old man leads you out of a burning building before it explodes. I held my breath the entire time lol.

To be fair, they're entire relationship is built on extreme situations. There's noway the passion can keep going once people aren't trying to kill them at every turn.

Bulls***. He firmly chose to commit to Elena at the end of U2. That should've been it. Splitting them up to hit replay on that same tired plot for U3 was just obnoxious. That dropped the game's story a couple notches in my book.

Why did they split this time? I figured the last time she dumped him cuz he's basically a grave robber.

This time it was kept kind of subtle, but the implication was that they got married and then Elena left Drake because he couldn't give up the thrill-seeking lifestyle. It became more and more apparent that he was somehow more committed to seeking out these life-and-death situations via his treasure hunts than he was to Elena. Which is why U3 relates directly to Sir Francis Drake; it's supposed to be Nate's intensely personal last hurrah before he finally settles down at the end.

... Until Uncharted 4 splits them up again, I'm sure. :o

It makes sense though.

Guy wouldn't stop and totally f**ked it all up.

But that was basically the reason they split between the first two games. It's just a total rehash. It's so lazy. :cmad:

She shoulda known better and not married him in the first place then.

she was stupid...all "oh he loves me, I can change him"

***** this ain't Home Depot and we ain't your project

Yeah, it's like looking at a broken heart shaped hernia.
