Alright, I'm sure there's an uncanny x-men thread but i couldn't find it so I'm starting this new one.

I just read Uncanny X-Men #511. I'll attach my the review I did for comicsbulletin.com below, but what I really want to draw attention to is one particular panel that blew my mind.

Here's the link to the whole review: http://www.comicsbulletin.com/reviews/124455442239428.htm
(Mine is the top review on the page)

but I'll just copy and paste the paragraph about the main thing that blew my mind in this issue.

There's one final thing that I HAVE to mention here just because it is too bizarre not to. In one scene, Cyclops is trying to stop Madelyne Prior, and he blasts her. Now, the blast goes through her because she's basically a ghost, but the bizarre part is WHERE he shoots her. Now bear in mind that he's supposed to be a marksman with his optic blasts, and where he shoots her is... well, let's just say it's between the thighs and the stomach. Alright, I'll just say it: Cyclops shoots her in the crotch! Why?! Why would Land have him do that? And it's not only Land's fault. An inker, a colorist, and then at least one editor ALL had to have okayed a scene where Cyclops tries to shoot a lady in the crotch! I'm baffled that such a panel actually got published.

I can't wait til you all get to read check out this issue yourselves and see if you're as stunned as I am about the fact that they included that.

That crotch caused a lot of problems for Cyclops I can understand his choice of target.

After all, it was that very crotch that made him leave the X-men, made Cable and turned him against his brother.

Kill that crotch Cyclops!

I bet Land couldn't find a decent picture of some dude pointing his eyes anywhere other than crotch-level for a lady. One of the many drawbacks of being a tracer rather than a penciller.

It's a drawback when all you trace is porn.

Oh man, now I really want to see the picture in question to see if Madelyn got an O-face from it.

Please. She probably got an O-face when she said "Hello." I swear, no one simply smiles or shouts in a Greg Land drawing.

I can't copy the images out of the advanced issues I get, but I'm sure someone can scan it in tomorrow.

Anybody with this issue and a scanner care to post the frame to which I was referring?

It'd be appreciated.

Is it this?

Here is the offending shot. Really, I think Land is more a victim of his own poor panel planning. The shot had to be low enough to the headstone, which had to fit within the low panel plus Maddy was standing higher on the casket. Anyway, after Luke Cage hoofed Elektra in the she-junk just before Secret Invasion, I tend to think it's just a theme at Marvel.

Thanks for posting that AE.

Still boggles my mind that Land wouldn't stop, look at the panel, and go "oh crap, what'd I do? I better fix that."

I understand wanting to include a dramatic shattering of a tombstone, but, c'mon.

lol unless the writer wanted Cyke to shoot her in the mommy spot

Actually it looks to me like he's shooting her in the behind and it's coming out of the mommy spot.

"I am going to punch you right in the ovaries."
[/Anchorman]

Hmm... or perhaps Cyke's gone too long without staring at his sexy Jean. So here's her clone and just as he's about to blast he can't help but to check out her sexy daire aire. I know I don't always intend to look at a girl's butt if it's nice looking. My eyes just kinda go there and I have to check myself (because I'm usually with my wife).

See, it makes sense.

That actually makes perfect sense. Hell, he'd apparently just had some of that ass a few issues back. I could see how his eyes would wander.

Cyclops cheated on Emma now? Damn, that man just can't keep it in his pants.

Like anyone expected this to be a long term relationship....the man left a wife and kid to be with Jean...whats gonna keep him from going back to her when she returns

If I remember right he thought it WAS Emma, but it was Maddy playing tricks on him. Wasn't it a mental deal like he and Emma used to do?

Yep, that was it. Scott thought it was Emma's projection. Later that issue, he thanked Emma for the awesome sex, but Emma had no idea what he was talking about. Then Scott looked into the crowd and saw Maddie smiling at him.

Damn Scott's love life is messed up.

He should just make a "no telepaths" rule and stick with it.

But then he couldn't have psychic sex, which is apparently his favorite kind.
