I haven't seen it, but I'm sure The Bad Sleep Well is probably a better rendition. But Sons of Anarchy is pretty super-sweet, too. Eagerly waiting for that third season to hit DVD.

Moving on from stuff that doesn't work, Game of Thrones continues to be awesome. I was watching with my sis and when the showed the blacksmith kid we both looked at each other and were like "Is that Chris?" If you've watched Skins you know what I'm talking about.

The Skins actors must love swordfighting. Tony and Effy were in Clash of The Titans too.

It's a damn good show. I was telling my cousin last night that I love the pacing. It's covering the first book's events in enough detail that I don't feel like they're leaving much out, but it's still forming a tight, cohesive narrative that doesn't feel like it's taking too much time to explain anything. I'm really looking forward to the remaining episodes. This is right about the point where everything starts to go wrong for nearly everybody. :hehe:

I need to speed up on the books(listening to the audio-books at work). The show is almost up to where I am :(

If I remember correctly, Chamber-Music refuses to watch the Second Generation.
I watched Skins second generation I just didn't think it was very good.

I've been watching the BBC's The Shadow Line which is awsome

CHIWETEL EJIOFOR plays a Detective returning to the police force in his first case since being shot in the head during a botched police operation that left his partner dead. He has amnesia, caused by the bullet still lodged in his brain.

Ejiofor is investigating Crime Lord Harvey Wratten murder while Wrattens crime Empire is in disarry CHRISTOPHER ECCLESTON lowly lieutenant who eschews the trappings of power or control of the criminal empire has built up a legitimate fruit and flower business as a front during Harvey’s time in prison which after his death leaves him forced to take control (like the Godfather).

Eccleston also has to deal with Harvey Wrattens crazy nephew Rafe Spalll who is straight out of prison and wants control of his uncles criminal empire and revenge for his murder.

I went into the The Dark Knight Rises spoiler board here on Hype and they are all so angry. Irrational hate and constant bickering and people trying to one up other people's made up theories. Man those kids are crazy, I'm so scared of that board now.

I tend to stay away from the movie-specific boards. Something about analyzing every scrap of information released concerning these movies for weeks at a time turns those places into their own scary little worlds...

Can't be as bad as the I Beleive in Harvey Dent days. The boards reeked of desperation then.

Comics is a great medium for hating things, since every week you're guaranteed some sort of concrete, officially released product towards which you can work up a good, earnest hate.

Ah, my mistake. I thought it was ok... The writers and producers were just trying too hard to have it live up to the previous generation. Somehow they struck lightning twice with the third generation though.

I saw the first episode of that I thought it was actually pretty good

The Bat forums are a perfect little universe of sad.

This exactly describes them, well worded sir.

Except the Thor Movie boards right Corp? ;)

Yeah wow hard to believe that was so long ago. Had to love that Viral Campaign though it was some slick Marketing.

It's sad that Heimdall was the most criticized about the film before it came out and yet he was one of the greatest things about the film.

I'm surprised his role was so big. Once you get over how much Heimdall(movie) and Hogun stick out like sore thumbs, it's all good

Hogun stuck out a lot more than Heimdall because he could barely speak English. Heimdall just happened to be black. Really, they could've added a few more black people into the Asgardian crowds and bam, Heimdall fits in perfectly.

Also, Hogun needs a wicked 'stache. :o

I just saw the movie The Fountain. Freaky weirdness abounds--just like Aronofsky likes it, I'm sure--but I think I understood most of it. Pretty sweet story at the core of it, too.

I adore that film. I wish Aronofsky had been able to get Bowie to do the score and Major Tom song like he hoped. You should check out of the comic, too. It's not as good, but still worth reading.

Is it based on a comic? I thought Aronofsky was behind the whole shebang.

Yep, I just read the Amazon description myself. I'll have to take a look at that sometime and see what was changed. The story that ultimately made it to the screen was excellent.

You could try reading 'em. I read way faster than those audiobook people narrate. :oldrazz:

I need my hands to work lol. Also good for the commute to work. But I might have to get the books just so I stay ahead of the show.

Hogun went from Mongolian to Chinese. I've always been curious about the people of Asgard who aren't members of the pantheon. Are they all just poor farmers and/or soldiers?

yea...The Fountain was one of those movies that was in development....forever

The story is basically the same at the core, but there's some details that are different. I can't remember exactly what at the moment, it's been a long time since I read it.

Hogun's actually not from the main city of Asgard. He's from some outlying realm, I think Skornheim. I guess the people there are roughly equivalent to the Asgardians, but they don't look like Aryan supermodels.
