I noticed something about Westerners. You guys seem rather taken with the concept of Rapture/Armageddon/Apocalypse and such.
Muslims believe in the Last Day too but for the most part don't really obsess over the time and date. The eschatology behind this part of religion varies from sect to sect, all part of some "learned" scholar's reading and interpretation of the said texts and a ***k load of imagination and self-indulgent beliefs and practices.
Take for example, the load of crap about the "72 virgins" thing. I've been a Muslim all my life and have passing knowledge of the religious texts but I've never interpreted this as me dying, going to heaven to have an orgy with forever-virgins. This interpretation only came up (and gained infamy) after the terrorists made their mark on the world and continues to prove these clowns know jack-**** about the religion they claim to fight for.
The End of Days is another thing which has no doubt be misinterpreted by thousands of self-said learned people, backing their findings and theories up with their own interpretations of Holy texts. No doubt, I'm sure Christian West thought the coming of the Ottoman Empire was a sign of the end days and the Muslim world probably felt the same at the Mongol Invasion.
Moral of the story? Don't bother 2nd guessing God. He is the King of Kings, and like all Kings, enjoys developing intrigues in His own court.
