Oh lord not this crap again. :p Can we go back to the Hype destruction? I heard Oberon Sexton kicks Kenguroos in the chest.
:argh:

I demand to see Australians referred to in a positive light!

:oldrazz:

Hugh Jackman was in Wolverine Origins nothing he does is positive or good anymore

God, what did that movie NOT rape. Maverick/Agent Zero becoming Korean was a huge annoyance for me. I loved Maverick from his mini-series days.

I don't think its hypocritical to prefer reading about positively written lgbt characters Hound

Those are just the characters i like and care about
I just get the idea that if someone said the exact same thing with the word "heterosexual" replacing "lgbt" you'd be labelling that person a bigot.

Because by the very nature of the genre we read there are going to be antagonists, and if every heterosexul character is to be portrayed in a positive light, then you're kind of limiting the sexual orientation of the bad guys to LGBT.

I'm all for diversity in comics, hell, plausible Australian characters are about as rare in the comics medium as positively portrayed muslims. Heck, possibly even rarer. But don't think it's right to tie the hands of writers by only having any minority or non-heterosexual person being played in a positive light.

Bad people aren't limited to white, heterosexual males aged between 21-59.

...that's just the most common appearance we take.[/WHITE DEVIL]

The fact that they made him into an unsympathetic dirtbag really pissed me off. dammit Fox!

They didn't make him an unsympathetic dirtbag. You're just an Asian hating racist...

Way to drag our country's name in the mud, you Pauline Hanson voting bigot... :oldrazz:

What's with the serious and considered discussion going on in here? Did someone catch feelings? :csad:

Nope

I don't really care what kind of characters other people like

If they only liked people who were heterosexual then i would think their a bigot. And if they didnt want any lgbt characters in comics I would think they were a bigot

But i wouldn't think they were if they preferred reading about characters who were straight. That's their opinion I don't share it but it doesn't bother me either

I dont want any lgbt characters to be portrayed as villains and dont spend any money on anything that portrays lgbt characters as villains

I only buy comics and watch movies or tv shows that portray lgbt characters in a positive way Hound

I hate anything that portrays being lgbt or lgbt characters in a negative way

Well, I'm here to stop it. So, mother****ing stop it!

So you've never seen The Wire? :csad:

That's what I meant. Omar's one of the best characters in a show defined largely by incredible characters, but he was both gay and a villain (as much as anyone could be called a black-and-white hero or villain in the show).

Well, plan A didn't work, guess it's time for plan B. You guys watch the newest episode of that really popular and cool show? Wasn't that episode a *****?

I thought it was alright, not as bad as the really popular and cool show #2.

Well I wouldn't really call him a villain or a character painted in a negative light. He was like the Robin Hood of Baltimore.

He was also so prideful that he went back after escaping the life and got himself killed doing his best Rambo impression. Plus, he was a professional thief. Sure, he stole from other villains, but that doesn't excuse it in my eyes. He's morally ambiguous at best.
