Nah, you're not guaranteed s***tier movies after a s***ty movie. Marvel had some quality-challenged early releases that led to some other good movies. You are, however, guaranteed that WB won't even bother trying if GL bombs.

Not really because GL looks campy as all hell. Reviews seem to back that up.

I mean, I just think directors want freedom to do their thing. Nolan was given pretty much free reign and look at what he's accomplished. Zack Snyder is getting the same free reign it seems, though I'm still baffled by why Nolan's name is even attached since he moved on it seems. I don't really have high hopes for Snyder's Man of Steel but who knows.

I read Snyders interviews and he seems to genuinely want to do right by Superman....he's not trying to blow Richard Donner like Singer was trying to do

Directors and actors need to get into their heads that this "my own vision of the character" **** does NOT work with comic book films....you have the vision right there in 20 30 40 + years of issues...that's your vision right there

Because Nolan's name reminds people of DC/WB's one good franchise. So long as it's not illegal to say he was involved, I'd do it too. Use what you got.

The only thing Snyder has me hoping for is a Superman movie with good fight scenes for once. None of that Moon crap, throwing chest emblems at people, or getting your teeth kiced in my one half of Harold & Kumar.

That would be helped incalculably by WB manning the f*** up and using an established villain for Supes besides Lex Luthor in the movie. Even using Zod again would give them the freedom to have Supes solve a problem with his fists instead of just yammering at Lex for half the movie.

they just do a better job in the nuts and bolts department....when they started out they made sure they had a good base and they knew that if you can make do, youll attract bigger names who will want to work with you...ie Kenneth Branagh...if you told me 10 years ago that Kenneth Branagh would be directing Thor I would have slapped you in the face, or laughed at you...maybe both

nope....Smallville is over so that train has crashed and burn in finality....with this BS relaunch, I have pulled all DC titles off of my pull list

I swear, movie studios are only aware of two Superman villains-- and one of them was created specifically for a movie in the first place.

At this point, I'd take Mr. Mxyzptlk over Lex or Zod again. At least then the movie has a chance of being funny.

I was watching the commentary on Blade Trinity with David Goyer (he co-wrote all three films) and he was talking about the first film and how they didn't have **** for a budget and that Marvel had to basically beg, borrow, and steal to get New Line to believe they had a good movie on their hands
