Yeah, I fell into that trap when I was talking to a friend of mine. I think I was looking at a cover for a recent Batgirl issue and he was like, "Is that Batgirl?" and then I said, "Yeah, the current one." Then I had to explain Spoiler and Cass and Babs and somehow I wound up explaining the difference between pre-Crisis Kathy Kane and the current Kate Kane, all of the Robins, Talia al'Ghul having test tube babies with Bruce's DNA, etc. I stopped at the Zur-en-Arrh part and just flat-out told him I hadn't read that s***.
That dude also was gonna be on a show that was going to be a spinoff of the Nanny about a beauty shop run by a macho single dad and his quirky staff. Of course it wasn't picked up because it was f**king stupid.
Hey, at least it must've been refreshing to come at that from the opposite end of the spectrum. How many times have you had to explain why the GL movie features some white dude instead of the "real, black GL"?

Yeah, like the fact that your friends never watched JL. That show was f***ing awesome!I think it's mostly because my friends didn't watch JL, so, they had no idea he was ever supposed to be black. I got a whole other problem really.
I talked about Empty Nest with the same friend I had to explain all the Batman s*** to the other day as well, coincidentally. We agreed that the show kind of sucked outside of the womanizing neighbor dude, Charlie, and neither of us could remember exactly why we liked it so much when we were younger.
