You'd never seen it? That movie is easily one of the best I have seen in 5 years.

Ah, the Thawnes and the Allens. How quickly we like to forget that they're actually related, thus making Bart Allen the most inbred character this side of Tenchi Masaki.

I think the Thawne-Allen feud comes from Mark Waid's "Chain Lightning." However, as DC has still not collected all of Waid's run, I haven't f***ing read that s***. :argh:

i love that joke.

so, i just saw taken, great action type flick but it brings up something that bothers me about action flicks: i hate it when there is no resistance after the hero completes the quest. there should still be 1 or 2 guys left to kill afterwards to ease you back into the action free part of the movie

Neat I should check that out

Is it on Netflix Lix

DAMN THOSE SCOTS...THEY RUINED SCOTLAND!

Seriously, did the Allen-Thawne feud start with Cobalt Blue or Zoom?

:hehe:

Think it started with Zoom

It started with Barry Allen's twin brother Malcolm being given to the Thawne family because some doctor had f***ed up the delivery of the Thawnes' baby earlier and it died.

it was, and it is. not movies overall, but of that kind of intimate action flick definitely

i dunno, there's a couple hundred years worth of gene variation in there so he's not risking birth defects. he's certainly in better shape than most modern royals

yup, from wiki

As Hunter Zolomon, he first appeared in The Flash: Secret Files & Origins #3 and was created by Geoff Johns and Scott Kolins.

Inbreeding is the choice of breeding by Royal bloodlines.

DC need to get the rest of his run collected in trades

The royals aren't exactly off the hook, either. That gene pool has been double-dipped more than the cocktail sauce at a New Years party.

Standard procedure..?

Standard procedure..?
I only know it from the Wikipedia entry since, as I mentioned, DC refuses to collect the rest of Waid's run (:argh:). But it seems like it's the same doctor and the f***-up with the Thawnes happened very recently before the Allen twins were born. The doctor also told the Allens that one of the twins was stillborn, but the Thawnes knew the truth because, as it turns out, they're totally evil con-artists.

I want to say the story must've had some good points because Waid could pretty much do no wrong on his '90s Flash run, but I'm having a hard time thinking of how all the Thawne stuff could maybe not have been totally ridiculous.

Do not think too hard about it Corp

It is a big ball of wibbly wobbly timey wimey stuff

No. This is all from '99. Wibbly-wobbly timey-wimey stuff didn't exist back then. :o

just watched the sunset limited, it was beyond fantastic. highly recommended if you get a chance. just a single set conversation movie, much like 12 angry men, about the nature of faith starring samuel l jackson and tommy lee jones

Yeah, I watched that too. Glad to see Sam in something to remind me that he is in fact an awesome actor.

was that last speech by jones not the single bleakest thing you've ever heard?
