Did they dump the whole creating our universe thing?
Yeah, they leave out a few of the big "labors" from the actual comic. But it still works.

How did you guys get to see it early, anyway? Just happen to get lucky and find a store that let it slip early or something? I don't think the official release is for nearly another two weeks. I don't hold a huge amount of faith in it, mainly because I don't think it's given enough time, but hope it'll at least be decent. lix not liking it is a good start, though.
"I have my ways," if you knowumsayin'. :ninja:

Yeah, I like the guy and all, but I think the idea of superheroes not being applied and grounded to real life standards is kind of lost to him, or he just hates it so much that he outright rejects it. I really liked those aspects of All Star myself, added an interesting meta-layer to the whole ordeal.
Eh, different strokes. I think the best Superman stories are all essentially about the actions of a perfectly good being, so that basically blows reality right out of the water from the start. Perfect goodness is not a concept that can be applied to reality.

It was awesome so I'm totally gonna buy it when it comes out anyway. Don't be the epi pen to my anaphylactic shock of happiness. :o

No. Because I am not a womanly witch.

I used warlockcraft. It's much more masculine.

Corp is a dirty pirate and I will be sending the Feds to his residence right away

get ready to enjoy Federal Poundtown Prison, Corp

Eh, it's white collar crime. I'll enjoy learning about art and culture from the Neal Caffreys of the world. :oldrazz:

I'm also having kiddie porn planted in your house, along with crack

so it's max security federal poundtown for you

Totally makes sense to turn yourself into a criminal to make someone else appear more criminal. That is the very essence of logic in pursuit of upholding the law, Blanty. Kudos. :awesome:

I'm gonna buy it anyway, like I said. It's the equivalent of renting before buying. That's my story and I'm sticking to it. :o

:wow:

Do you wear the cute pointy black hats
No, just the cult robe. It's very tasteful and stylish.

Well i'm glad you're supporting it. We're losing more and more options on the DC movies because of people refusing to purchase these and end up just stealing it.

Personally i'm mostly excited for the Grant Morrison commentary, because he must have this whole passionate enthusiastic attitude towards the film.

I'll probably never listen to the commentary. I do think I'll watch it again when I actually own it, though. It had some really touching moments.

I'm not buying it because I didn't like the story to start with

not even worth the 7 minutes it would take to download/steal it IMO

Oh my...

Yeah, I feel similarly. I find it strange that people try so hard to fit superheroes like Superman and Batman into the standards of our reality, but that's a whole different discussion I suppose.

Dusted off some of my old stuff today. Found a blast from my childhood, an old Zoid I assembled back when I was in Secondary School. Black and Red Cheetah/Wild cat looking one, shocked me after I dusted it off by revealing it still had some juice left in the old batteries. Warmed my heart to see it still work. Missing one of those rubber knob things though.

Hey, didn't Grant Morrison ***k with Zoids at some point of his career?

I didn't think so, but I googled it and sure enough, he did. Back when Marvel UK was releasing a tie-in comic for it

Via wiki:

Zoids was a comic book series by Marvel UK that was a tie-in with the toys of the same name. The comic is notable for featuring early work by Grant Morrison, including the epic and apocalyptic Black Zoid storyline.

....

However, the comic's cancellation with #51 meant none of these plotlines were ever followed up on. A proposed monthly continuation (again written by Grant Morrison, with art by Steve Yeowell) was shelved before publication - however, at least the first half of the aborted issue exists

Oh my gosh i really want to find and read that Zoid comic book now :atp:

;_;

Why do you not like it Black'oLantern

just didn't enjoy it....I like Superman as much as the next guy, but have really hated the stupid **** they have been doing with him lately....All Star, New Krypton,....I have had ZERO reason to really get invested in any Superman story in the past few years

Ireland lost to France at Rugby six nations and Chabal is still one big hairy beast of a man

I usually don't say stuff like this, but honestly, I really don't get how you can like Superman at all and not like All Star Superman. I just don't get it. I know there's others out there like you (like lix...), but it's a book that's pretty much everything that's great about Superman rolled into one story, and you can almost say it's everything that makes old school heroes like Superman in general so great rolled up into one package. I'm not even meaning to belittle anybody by saying that, I honestly just don't understand how these two elements don't mix.

so you're not belittling me, but you ARE because you lack the capacity to understand my personal opinion on something

I'll belittle you if you want? Your opinion is s**t.

What do you think of Cornell writing action comics
