hulk vs > planet hulk on the vurtue of neither of vs stories were about the hulk. that's the key to a good hulk story imo, don't make it about the hulk

Not a great idea to make Hulk vs. Thor all about making an entire realm of gods look completely pathetic compared to the Hulk, though. Definitely not an improvement on Planet Hulk, as far as I'm concerned, since Planet Hulk (in the comics, at least) was one of the very few truly great stories about the Hulk (and to a lesser extent Banner). The movie cut down on the story to the point that it was just another beat-'em-up, though.

I'd say the key to making a good Hulk story is to use a version of the Hulk who's capable of holding a conversation or at least thinking like a human being. The reason so many people like the Hulk is because it create a more mature version of the Savage Green Hulk.
