I love Wes Anderson but I can't stand Arrested Development.

But seriously I find the allure of Television fading away. These days I spend more time at work, on the computer and playing my Playstation rather than stone out in front of the Idiot box. Not sure if that's a sign of human evolution or us looking for a new purpose in life.

Breaking Bad and The Wire are pretty much all the television you'll ever need. And I guess Archer...and Futurama...and Venture Bros....and Dr. Who.

And I know that people have their opinions and I should respect them but Arrested Development is terrible/writing Wes Anderson movies off as simply just quirky, pretentious movies is just wrong.

to me rushmore is the worst example of pretentiousness and deadpan delivery amongst his movies, except maybe the darjelling limited. love it to death, but i can totally see why other people wouldn't like that one.

I'd say the Darjeeling Limited is the weakest of Wes' films... I still dig it, but it's no where near my favorites. Rushmore is tops in my book.

Breaking Bad and The Wire are pretty much all the television you'll ever need. And I guess Archer...and Futurama...and Venture Bros....and Dr. Who.

And I know that people have their opinions and I should respect them but Arrested Development is terrible/writing Wes Anderson movies off as simply just quirky, pretentious movies is just wrong.

Problem with living in Asia is we get stuff late and things go get censored quite a bit. For example, why should I watch the HBO Asia version of Boardwalk Empire when I know 40% of the content is going to be cut out or re-edited?

It's weird how we can't get nudity on such shows but the violence in series like Band of Brothers and The Pacific is fine.

I channel flip between Star World (which is a Hong Kong channel) and FOX Asia most of the time. Life, Prison Break, Law and Order...These are shows I enjoy though they tend to vary in quality over time. Shows I hate are CSI, NCIS and a plethora of other Crime dramas that tend to overblow criminal investigations with glitz and glamor.

about the walking dead

yea no way is Carl dead. he's my favorite character and i vowed that if he died i would drop the book. He's gonna wear an eye patch. last issue as soon as Rick dies i wanna see Carl grown up in the future taking over his fathers role (like RDR!). the bullet didn't hit his brain at all.

I know you lost all respect for me because I don't think Rob Granito deserves to be publically executed, but

there is no way in crap Carl should survive that (not saying he won't survive it in the comic book about zombies, just that he shouldn't). And, like I said, even if he does, I doubt Kirkman will just slap an eye-patch and say All Better! No, we're going to see a brain damaged Carl put to death by his own father, and in panel too.

Before Arrested Development is brought up by someone else, I want to say right now that that show sucked the most balls the hardest I've ever seen.

With that out of the way, there are still some quality TV shows that are successful.

Ah, Arrested Development. I tried to get into that show, but it just felt weird and quirky without actually being funny. The kind of thing you watch and think, "Yes, that's very amusing. I think I enjoyed that, but it didn't really make me laugh."

You know, like if Wes Anderson made a TV show-- only less pretentious and deadpan than anything ever made by Wes Anderson.

Pretty much.

You guys are speaking out of one giant, collective, hairy ass. Arrested Development is one of the funniest and best written shows of the last decade.

What? Iranians?

Have you seen their men? Let's just put it this way, Pretty Persian girl + Surprisingly Handsome Persian guy = nice-looking Persian kids.

It's their eyes that draws me. Those light-brown hazel-ish eyes. Both men and women there have it. Its not just Iranians, Most of their central Asian ilk share the same features: not-quite-Caucasian/not-quite-Arab looks. They also tend to marry within their own race which totally makes sense.

Of course for every pretty/handsome Persian/Iranian, you get an ugly one. Them just the breaks. Oh, and they are a little uppity around guys like me (Indians). My ancestors were probably porters or sandal-bearers for some old Persian lord or something.

Persians outside of Iran? Sarah Shahi is a prime example of that. And she's all hot.

So far The Prisoner of Benda is my favorite Futurama episode of the new season (I still need to see the next 3 episodes to see if it still stands).

I don't know why but this was the scene from that episode that made me laugh so hard.

Well, I think the quality of shows on TV is higher than it's been in awhile, so I dunno. I usually wait for the home video releases to watch them though. More so for time than anything else.
