I am humbled. Bless you heart for the kind words. I was tired of photomanips so I shifted gears to drawings now Im getting tired of fanart so Im gonna shift to some original compositions...and fall back to fan art from time to time.

Nice to have a fan.:yay:

be sure to post some of your original stuff

i really like how you post the b&w and the color versions of your compositions.

I recently went back and changed a few things in my batman rogues gallery photo manip.

The riddler is now depp and loosley based on the design seen in the "joker" graphic novel.

Harley has been given her traditional costume, once again inspired by the version in Azzarello and Bermejo's graphic novel.

And lastly bane's mask was re done, Although I loathe all things "batman & robin(the movie)" Banes mask was pretty cool, so I brought that back...but its limited to the mask design!

Enjoy!

In between drawings I was able to throw these together.

I used the new MK vs DC models as a reference and tried staying true to their ninja roots.

enjoy!

Vic,
Amazing drawings & manips, I would die to have that skill of yours.:o
I really appreciate your work, especially the Dr. Manhattan.
Did you go to an art school??

Thank you!

I really never found formal training fitting. High school studio art and a few college art classes is all I have under my belt. Its mainly self taught...lots and lots of practice.

Sub Zero

he was always my favorite

Thanks for the info the only thing that I can't do is the practice ! every time I start to draw another thing pops into my head...& i don't know what to draw.
Do you have any tips to concentrate or things to draw ???

Haha, Yea I know what you mean. I get tired of certain styles and techniques and like to experiment every now and then as well. However one suggestion I can make is collect a lot of reference pics. Some you can copy directly using a grid or freehand it and gain some knowledge of anatomy and lighting/tones etc, and some you can use as a guide to create your own original work.

Reference to me is a good starting point, if you like a particular picture it can inspire you to bring your own take on it. Given, that you must take it as far as possible from the original to really call it your own. i love taking my favorite screenshots or promo pics and drawing them, because my medium allows me to bring a unique look to the picture, one that cannot be achieved digitally...and its practice.

I will always admire traditional work more opposed to digital. Digital is wayy too forgiving...However, both require tremendous talent and practice.
Hope this somewhat gives you an idea of where to start.

this is really good.

i give you major props on her right arm. that angle and position would have taken me forever to get right, but it looks perfect.

It was challenging since I was using several references but yea I think I got it. The Gold ornaments were the most fun to work on. Her headband, gauntlets, and the chest piece. It was really hard but i did so many experimental techniques that it turned out to be fun and it looked pretty good too!

That WW is just amazing! great detail. Thanks a lot for the tips Vic, still trying to find that photo...:csad:
Do you color the art in Photoshop ??

JJ

Nothing but love on the WW piece, Vic! :word:
