I just wanted to start a thread to discuss the Vishanti and their status in the MCU. For those who arent familiar, from Wikipedia:
The three beings who make up the Vishanti are Agamotto the All-Seeing (The Light of Truth), Omnipotent Oshtur (Oshtur the Omnipotent, Lady of the Skies), and Hoary Hoggoth (Hoggoth the Hoary, Lord of Hosts). They are extra-dimensional creatures with vast magical abilities, which are generally benevolent towards humanity and support the Earth's Sorcerer Supreme.

So the only mention in the film that I caught was about Agamatto being an old sorcerer. Now, to my knowledge these beings can take human form. So will we see them on screen? Will they be as powerful/omnipresent/non-corporeal as Dormammu seemed?

Have the filmmakers made any statements about this?

Well, in the Junior Readers Novel they DID mention "the Hoary Hosts of Hoggoth" during the training scene between Mordo and Strange talking about Relics. Granted we've already determined the novel is alittle off other than Aggamotto being named, I didn't see or hear anything on the Vishanti in either. I was suprised nothing was mentioned in the library scenes with Wong actually.
Maybe we'll see some deleted scene with them.

They could always go with "the Vishanti are the collective of all past Sorcerer Supremes". If you achieve that level of mystic power, you basically ascend and become a cosmic being after death. Which means there are probably more than just three, but meh.

I'm not familiar with the comics, but I was kind of assuming that the three Sanctums in the movie were connected to the three Vishanti. New York has the seal of Agamotto as its symbol, I know that much. Does anyone have any info on the seals of Oshtur and Hoggoth, and whether they are similar to the symbols for the London and Hong Kong Sanctums? Google failed me on that, lol.

Well, thats a good theory. I would like it if that were true. Whether:

- each of the Vishanti took human form and created the sanctums
- each started out human, created the sanctums and transcended into deities
- each sanctum was built by lower level sorcerers with one of the Vishanti in mind

Upon my second viewing I saw no other references or mentions of the Vishanti. So it all comes down to the sequels.

IIRC, it was stated that Agamotto built all three Sancti himself.
Also, IIRC, the one in HK still had Agamotto's symbol as window

I was thinking about something the other night. Since the Eye of Aggamotto's "bars" move from the Aggamtto/NYC Sanctum smybol to the open eye. I wonder if those bars can form the other two Sanctum symbols?
