At the E3 Nintendo conference, everyone went..WTF?, so, is it the begining of Nintendo´s downfall, or will it be pretty damn good, just like the balance board?

The curious thing, and the main reason i made this thread is because i just found out that the vitality sensor is not a new thing...

The Wii Vitality Sensor tracks a players pulse while playing. A novel Nintendo idea — or is it?

Nintendo has never been afraid of mining its own past for new product ideas — take the DS's dual screen design that echoes Nintendo's own Donkey Kong multi-screen Game & Watch.

The Wii Vitality Sensor appears to be another Nintendo dip into its own R&D backlogs. As game blog Game|Life points out, back in 1998, Nintendo released the "Bio Sensor" along with Tetris 64. The peripheral read the player's pulse by clipping onto their earlobe as opposed to the player's finger. The Japan-only Bio Sensor allowed players to speed up or slow down Tetris 64 based on heart rate speed.

The Bio Sensor was only supported by Tetris 64 before it flat lined. Nintendo is going to need a steady pulse of Wii titles for the the Wii Vitality Sensor to keep this new peripheral alive.

So, will it be dead on arrival, with only one or two games going to support it; or is this the comeback of Nintendo´s oldies?
Next one, the Wii Power Glove..and, if Natal works perfectly like in the ads, expect the Wii Virtual Boy

More on the vitality thing:

Satoru Iwata unveiled the latest add-on for the Wii Remote, the Wii Vitality Sensor, at E3 a few days ago. However, he failed to provide details regarding the software that the peripheral would support. Today, the first details for Nintendo’s game have come to light.

Nintendoeverything reports that the title allows the user to check his/her relaxation level in addition to determining whether the player is breathing in or out. In another section, a human silhouette appears onscreen. The amount of blue water that fills is an indication of the user’s stress level. Of course, you want to aim for greener water, which is a good sign meaning you’re more relaxed. A metronome, coupled with breathing exercised, will help in reducing stress.

Well, it look to me as a Wii Fit 3

great...gamers are going to have a videogame show them how out-of-shape they are.

ps: i'm one of them

This has got to be one of the worst official accesories Ive heard of in a while
