The Wachowskis Returning to Sci-Fi with Jupiter Ascending

We just see the trailer, have watched him in the past and forming an opinion. What is wrong with that? I understand that the results might be different in the final film, but given the track record of actors, why can't people have preconceived notions, an opinion on their skill?

There are no right and wrong, only popular opinions. I think it's a waste of time and energy to form an opinion about this movie at this early stage. Also hypes are always overrated, especially when the hype didn't materialize.

Posting on a forum could be considered a waste of time and energy. But hey, here we are. :woot:

Also, most don't seem to be giving it all that much energy.

Let me just state that while I find the trailer to be lackluster I actually found Tatum to be the only saving grace. Mila Kunis is the one that isn't working for me along with the seemingly incoherent and jumbled visuals and plot.

Iono why, but I just keep thinking of Zoolander in that picture.

The Wachowskis ........hope

but why Tatum why him

Oh, Channing. Stick to doing what you do best: dancing and voicing Lego people.

Terry Gilliam On His Role In 'Jupiter Ascending'

I thought my thespian career needed a little boost. I knew the Wachowskis from… when they were brothers. And I always thought they were terrific and they offered me this part, and the scene for them is a homage to “Brazil” and it required lots of uglifying makeup and it was just a silly day, with Mila Kunis and Channing Tatum and me, sitting chewing up the scenery. I’m just clerk in the film but it allows me to climb ladders and behave in a strange way.

Mila, [was mostly just] staring at me, “What the **** is he doing now?” And Channing, all he has to do is bring her into this office space and then take her away. And it was funny because he was supposed to exit through a certain door and he kept on going out through the wrong door, because I think he was just, “What is going on here?”

Watched the Trailer on the front page. What the hell was I looking at?

scifi ? with actors who hollywood is forcing on directors because they think they are movie stars.

Saw the International trailer and.....I REALLY hope this movie surprises me because.....yeah, not feeling it.

I have got a good feeling about it.

The trailer was meh because literally it had Mila screaming and falling 10 times in the trailer. For such an important character, we didn't get to see or hear anything from her point of view.

I can't help but think this is going to crash and burn. There is zero anticipation for this film and reaction to the footage so far has been negative.

I'll check this out but yeah I'm not feeling too positive about it either.

I just don't think the leads are compelling enough, despite me actually liking Tatum and Kunis. I think they're both miscast.

For Jupiter being the title character, she sure is an afterthought in the marketing and is portrayed as a weak distressed damsel. It looks like alien Tatum's movie.

On the other side of things, I mean I saw Snow White and the Huntsman, and there's no way you can walk away after seeing that movie and not know Snow White (Kristen Stewart) was the main protagonist despite the Huntsman being thrown into the title. So maybe alien Tatum would turn out to be like the Huntsman? But again it's being sold like it's his movie so far.

We know Kunis is not a great actress either but she can at least fit in sometimes in comedies (That 70s Show, Ted, Forgetting Sarah Marshall) or playing the sweet girl role (Oz).

I want to support original sci-fi or fantasy movies but some things seem to be missing here.

WB doesnt like it and they dont know how to promote it IMO. no posters and no official images. it is CGI heavy .but they filmed a lot on location. march and only one bad trailer.
