I liked Reloaded so I don't agree with that statement very much. :o

I'll give you Revolutions though...
I like Reloaded. I could watch Neo's fight scenes all day, especially the Chateau fight. The movie is still pretty bad though imo. It is about 45 mins of content spread thin.

Even after watching two trailers I still don't understand the point of this movie, except that the Bad Guy wants to capture Mila Kunis, and waves after waves of CGI space ships and even monsters ensued. Tatum looked rather ridiculous with his elvish ears and giant tattoos, while Kunis seemed too passive even though her character's name is the title of this movie.

I won't be surprised if this movie bombed in the OW.

I'm a Wachowski fan so I'll be seeing this. It does look weird but I see that as a positive. I can see why people aren't into it though.

I kinda liked the trailer. The effects look cool. But it's again more focused on Tatum. Why is it that the character with her name in the title seems like an afterthought? Hope it's just the trailers though.

Also, Eddie Redmayne :hrt:

fantastic designs and visuals. this movie will bomb so hard that tears will float .
Tatum and Kunis was a mistake of epic proportions. both sound and act wrong. they dont fit with the rest of the cast. obvious since everyone else is acting.

before this movie started filming rumor was that this was Snow White set in the future. i need to ask. where in this trailer do we have anything similar to Snow White?

i like that some fans on the internet are a little uncomfortable with this movie. its ok you are safe. you are just experiencing an original movie where the first ,second and third act are not obvious to you. its not like watching a Star Trek Into the Darkness movie. i hope you all will defend that its not a remake for the next 100 years. :woot:

statistics show that when you have a main female character and a side action male character the marketing will focus on the guy. he is handsome, half naked(no shirt in the trailer) and he has action scenes. which is BS :woot:

Theoretically, Jupiter is Snow White (even the insects lover her), and Eddie Redmayne is the evil stepmother. Tatum is the Huntsman/prince charming.

Snow White period. I'm not saying that it's an exact retailing but I see the influence of the story.

Regardless of the quality of the story or script, this film looks gorgeous and has an amazing sci-fi aesthetic. I'll be watching this in theaters!

The plot of this film looks pretty generic so far. I wonder if there is more to it than the trailers have shown so far?

i agree amazing scifi. i like the black environments with the orange ''sunrise'' lighting. you know that Tatum and Kunis are bad in the trailer when everyone ignores the visuals. :oldrazz:

i also like the title. in times when he have so bad and genetic titles Jupiter Ascending sounds aweeeeeeeeesome. i think WB should add ''revenge'' , ''rise'' and ''darkness'' into the title. internet fans would go crazy. :woot:

but yeah this will bomb HARD.

I don't know. The sci-fi aesthetic looks ok, but it looks so derivative it turns me off.

Yesterday i decided to watch the ultimate dvd boxset .
Dunno why but i was in matrix mood. Imagine my surprise to see the new Jupiter Rising trailer.Loving that they are expanding the story and the Visuals.
However they really need to some shots to really capture the imagination.
Matrix had the actors doing the kung fu and more importantly BULLET TIME.
That was the main draw.

They need something to really wow the audience IMO.Here is what Drew Mcweeny said :

Two years ago, the Wachowski's teased in a New Yorker profile that they had a big visual idea for Jupiter Rising that would be “an evolutionary jump from bullet-time.” But so far, I haven't seen any signs of this in the trailers... Drew, do you happen to know if they were able to pull this off?

drew : I do. I talked to them about the same thing in Austin after the "Cloud Atlas" screening at Fantastic Fest, and you can see a wee little hint of it in this trailer. It's the gravity boots I mentioned, and I've heard some crazy things about the scenes involving them.

i bet they are holding something back. which is a big mistake.

even Speed Racer had groundbreaking car action.

Speed Racer had no car action, which is why it worked.

I don't know. The sci-fi aesthetic looks ok, but it looks so derivative it turns me off.

I can't think of anything it's copying that would make it look derivative. It looks bigger and more sci-fi than anything I've ever seen.

By the way, I'm on some powerful medication at the moment. Could be why the visuals are clicking with me.:D

Maybe it is because I us to be big into anime, or that I having been playing games for over 20 years now. But it just looks so familiar. My favorite shot was the winged beast in chase and even that was so... yeah.

futuristic car racing? :woot:
More like Mario Kart or F-Zero. Not that I am complaining, I loved it. But it wasn't exactly car racing. :funny:

I'll give this a chance. Really liked Cloud Atlas. One of the only films that was better than the source material.

Ugh, I just can't "feel" anything the Wachos have been doing ever since The Matrix.

Design aside, I still think even after this second trailer that it looks painfully derivative, generic (although the shield & the boots are cool), what little dialogue there is in the trailer just strikes me as run of the mill, mediocre writing.

I don't think Tatum & Kunis don't fit though, Redmayne looks terribad though.

Every summer there is that one flick that is preconceived to be the biggest bomb of the year. Hopefully this ain't the one as I do like most of the people involved.
