I didn't like the way the book was structured. The film and how it was edited made it a bit easier to follow. Also the way the film used the same actors in different time periods helped... something that obviously can't be done in a book.

I liked the film, but I don't see how it's constant jumping back and forth would be easier to follow. All the stories in the book are presented in a standalone way one right after the other (they are broken in two parts, but still…)

The film being edited that way makes it easier to follow the connections between the characters in the different time periods, for me.

The book having each story set after the other wasn't as effective in showing the connections in my view.

Not saying the book is bad, at all. I just think the film made better use of the concept.

Oh well, I thought you meant the plot of each story was easier to follow. That…well, honestly, I don't think that either but I get more of what you're saying, I guess.

The second trailer gives a better grasp of the plot. I'm intrigued, even if it's not "oh, this looks GREAT!"

As for the film that'll be the inevitable big summer bomb... it's likely to be TMNT. Honestly, the trailer for that is off-putting.

I see none of the cool-factor that makes The Matrix still awesome as hell so many years later, but after I liked Cloud Atlas I'll probably give this a shot.

Looks like a definite flop though.

Having seen the second trailer I'd be surprised if this is not one of the years big bombs.

I hated the way the movie was edited, as if they didn't trust their audience to make the connections themselves.

But... it has Jackie scrubbing a toilet! And Channing Tatum as an elf or something! And Eddie Redmayne as Evil-Lyn! BOX OFFICE GOLD!

I saw Cloud Atlas last night and enjoyed it quite a bit. The new trailer for Jupiter was way better than the first one. That first trailer had me thinking "definite pass", but now I am interested.

I was pretty meh with the first trailer, but I liked this one a lot better. It has potential. Could be a sleeper hit for all we know. Redmayne's performance looks interesting.

And the chance of Sean Bean dying. I'm placing bets right now.

Yeah, pretty sure it will be.

And to whoever said TMNT will bomb...you nuts? Not happening, whether it's good or lousy.

The two things I liked in this trailer are the visuals and Eddie Redmayne going full ham. :hehe:

The Wachowskis are one of the very few people who are able to translate some of the anime-imagery to live action. And i saw a lot of it in Jupiter Ascending. Looks good. And fun.

I really dislike Eddie Redmayne as an actor.

Redmayne looks like he is channelling the same Space emperor vibe as the Pharaoh from Stargate.

The trailer really did nothing for me, and Tatum looks ridiculous.

I'm so affraid it is not possible watch anything with robust berry...she's an unpleasant on-screen character IMO. Beast’s ball was the main film I thought she was great in and that is a result of the sexual moment.
