I just saw the new trailer with Transcendence it actually looks pretty decent. That demonic looking flying thing has piqued my curiosity.

Redmayne with his long neck looks like a manga character . perfect casting.

Why do you all hate Kunis and Tatum?

Kunis still has baggage from That '70s Show... even in that Oz movie all I could see was her character Jackie playing dress-up. I don't know if it's her acting, or her voice... but I don't think she's quite hit the right role where people can see her a bonafide actor, not some sitcom-turned-movie-star like her fiancé/baby daddy Ashton Kutcher.

That said, I think she'll be okay here. It's Tatum that has me worried. Pair anyone else up with Kunis, and I'd be fine.

I haven't had that problem with Kunis since the double-wammy of Forgetting Sarah Marshall and Black Swan. Two VERY different kinds of roles in two COMPLETELY different types of movies, and she was great in both of them. As for Tatum, it depends on the role. For instance, I really liked him in 21 Jump Street and Magic Mike, but found him rather wooden in GI Joe.

I really feel Tatum could be a great comedic actor as opposed to an action star as he really feels much more natural in comedy roles.

He does seem to have really natural comedic timing. I really hope this movie turns out to be good. I'd like a new sci fi film to discuss and get into. I think we'd all love for this to be another Matrix, and I'd really like to see the siblings make another sci fi classic.

Maybe that's why I don't get it, I only watched That 70s Show in a casual manner.

Did you guys really think she was THAT good in Sarah Marshall? I found her barely memorable. She just seemed like more boring version of Jackie to me.

I didn't say I found her that good, but she didn't remind me of Jackie.

Well, it's hard to really differentiate if the actor uses their same vocal inflection, but you basically have to just go with it.

Kunis was okay in Black Swan, wasn't too memorable apart from one scene. But looking at Jupiter, I think the Wachowskis found the perfect role for her. I think she's starting to shed that sitcom image, but we'll see how she does.

And what scene would that be? ;)

This.

Channing Tatum is only as good as the talent/script behind him. 21 Jump Street was his first good performance. He's been terrible in every action role he's ever attempted. I see this being the same in terms of his acting.

One thing in the trailer that makes me laugh... Tatum's Lite Brite flying sneakers. Was anyone else reminded of those really lame shoes that Reebok or somebody put out in the 90s that would light up when you walked in them?

I remember those, I'm sure I wanted a pair at the time.

Admit it, you still wear them, along with an Iron Man helmet, Superman T-shirt and Spiderman tights.
I wear them with my Superman t-shirt, Batman mask, and Captain America tights thank you very much.
