I love the first Matrix, and really enjoy Speed Racer and Reloaded, but yeah.I still don't understand why WB keeps investing on these two. I enjoyed the entire Matrix trilogy and really liked Speed Racer but from a financial standpoint they've become money pits.
Isn't one of the Wackhowskis no longer a man? Maybe that will change things.WB are just really loyal to filmmakers that once made them a lot of cash. In general (if you are a man) once you make one big hit you are pretty much set for a long time. It's why M. Night continues to get big budget gigs despite being an epic failure for about a decade now. The siblings will have plenty more chances to lose WB money.
we need leaked emails to know for sure what is going on at WB haha![]()

Ah, well that makes sense. One thing to keep in mind is that while Cloud Atlas was distributed by WB it was actually independently financed, so really Speed Racer is the only film that's truly bombed for WB of the siblings.
$175 million budget?... That seems... a bit too much. I wonder if it will make it back?..
They can make this movie... but Halo or Mass Effect movies still haven't been made. :/
This is what I don't get. Properties like Halo already have a built-in fanbase that will flock to see it no matter what and the general public probably will too if it looks good. Yet they sit in development hell forever while studios greenlight stuff like Jupiter Ascending, an outlandish and expensive concept directed by people who haven't had a hit in over a decade and starring actors who aren't proven box office draws.
The only thing that can save this film are the overseas markets. It will not be a hit in North America so WB are probably hoping that the Asian countries especially take to it like they did say Interstellar.
If the film had a buzzed about star in place of Kunis I think it would have had a chance in North America.
lol I definitely think that his people are nervous about it.Eddie Redmayne is probably hoping this thing flies under the radar so it doesn't Norbit him out of an Oscar.

Halo wasn't made precisely because it was going to be a huge money maker; the studios involved couldn't agree on the percentage split. The fallout wasn't on whether it would make money, it's who would take in more and how much they could control. This is what I don't get. Well that sucks. Its stuff like that that hurts us fans.Halo wasn't made precisely because it was going to be a huge money maker; the studios involved couldn't agree on the percentage split.
