I kinda hope they end the season on a cliffhanger. They've never done a season-ending cliffhanger before.

Are you happy now you son of a dick? :cmad:

Extended cut episode for the DVD? :D

I enjoyed the finale, although I'll start by admitting though that I don't know what the point of the flashbacks to Farmer Rick were.

I knew that group Daryl was with were bad news but I didn't realize just how bad, that scene at the camp site was one of the most intense the show has done. That explosion of violence from Rick was brutal but I felt it was understandable given what that freak was gonna do to his son.

I loved the scene the next morning with Rick and Daryl, that partnership has been a definite miss in the second half of the season.

So to absolutely no ones surprise Terminus is the complete opposite of safe sanctuary. I don't follow spoilers or read the books but I am guessing this latest bunch of weirdos are cannibals?

I was just glad to see Maggie step out of the shadows with all her bits intact.

Rick: They're screwing with the wrong people.
Carl: No, they're f***ing with the wrong people.
Rick: CAAAAAAAAAAAAAARL!!!!

Would've been a better way to end it. :o

Yea, they got what they deserved. Really tense scene though.

After Woodbury and Terminus, it's gonna be more of a "surprise twist" if any "sanctuary" turns out to actually be legit.

I think the call backs to Farmer Rick was to see how that started because the current time line saw that go away and Bad*ss Rick return.

The Farmer Rick plot was all about retaining humanity for Carl's sake. For Carl to be a kid again. Like him cleaning a gun rather than playing with legos. Rick was concerned about how cool he was right after killing that kid from Woodbury.

But now that Dale and Herschel are dead, Rick is going full Savage Mode. He finally realizes that there is no going back.

I think that episode was one of the few times that I absolutely didn't hate Rick guts and want his head to explode. I just wanted him to stop being a wuss for once and he did, eventhough he went into major overkill mode.

His son almost being raped in front of him and his reaction and attitude after that was "overkill mode"? I'd say no to that, not overkill. Everything the guy has been through. And that almost happening to Carl. No overkill, totally warranted behavior.

You can understand a behavior and still be disturbed by it.

I felt that Rick was completely justified in his actions. He had no other choice when it came to Joe, and as far as the other guy who was about to rape Carl? Well, he had it coming.

Never said one couldn't be disturbed by it, cause it is disturbing. To see what could drive a man to behave that way. But how is it overkill? It's an extreme situation in a now extreme world. Everything he's been through leading up to that moment. Carl is all he has left (in his mind he doesn't know where Judith is) and he said all that matters is protecting Carl. I just don't see how it was overkill as you say.

I'm going to go out on a limb and say yes.

This was a great finale. I'm highly anticipating season 5 now. My level of excitement for S5 is about the same as S3. I wasn't as excited for S4 thanks to the S3 finale. I thought this season was solid overall and is really taking the story and characters in interesting directions.

And despite the grim circumstances it was cool to see most of Rick's group reunited at the end.
