The Walking Dead "The Walking Dead" General Stuff & Thaaaangs Thread - Part 9

I think this episode really made Guile and Mullet part of the regular cast, a lot more than the "Come With Us, We Got A Plan" gang that they've been since they arrived.

I loved how Eugene's lie is also what keep Abe going and I think ultimately they will both be redeemed. Eugene will become brave like a lion, Abraham will eventually get a brain for his tin body. This re-imagining of the yellow brick road sure has a lot of zombies on it though.

Is that Walking Dead spinoff series still happening?
I came in here to see just that, honestly.

Did my own research. It's still a go, and they have 6 characters.
SEAN CABRERA | A Latino male in his early 40s, Sean is a good man trying to do right by everyone in his life.
CODY CABRERA | Sean’s whip-smart and rebellious teenage son. Known as the angriest kid in town.
NANCY TOMPKINS | A thirtysomething single mom to two kids, Nancy looks like the girl next door, but there’s an edge to her.
NICK TOMPKINS | Nancy’s screwed up teenage son. He’s too old to stay home, too scared to flee.
ASHLEY TOMPKINS | Nancy’s mostly level-headed teenage daughter. Her ambition is in direct proportion to her older brother’s failures. She loves her mom but it’s time to get out of Dodge.
ANDREA CHAPMAN | A somewhat wilted flower child, fortysomething Andrea — yep, another Andrea! — has retreated to the outskirts of the city to recover after a horrible marriage.

Abraham's family is dumber than a stack of bricks. Just saying. He was defending and saving his family during the freakin' apocalypse. Of course things were gonna get violent. Apparently those a-holes he killed were rapists, too? YEAH. THEY DESERVED IT. Team Abe all the way.

Also, I wouldn't be so nice to Eugene. He's smart, but entirely selfish. How many people died defending him and the fake mission? Too many. I'd use him as zombie bait at this point. His a** ain't worth saving or protecting. He deserves a big dose of karma.

In the comics he redeems himself, so I imagine that's how they'll handle it for the the TV version.

Given how easily Guile clocked Mullet Man, it wouldn't be much of a showdown.

Never doubt a mullet. Never.

I'm watching the first episode and there's so many corpses. Why aren't they walkers?

I think Abraham knew deep down that Eugene was full of ****, but as long as he was occupied with their "mission", he didn't have to ponder his family being turned into zombie feces.

Even though Eugene was lying about being a scientist, his theory about Washington likey being the safest city, and most likely place for things to still be functioning on some level, is pretty sound. So in that respect, heading to Washington still sounds like the best course of action.

I've been looking forward to everybody being on the road for awhile instead of squatting in a shelter.

I can understand why he lied. He wasn't going to make it on his own and Abraham was about to leave him before he said he was on a mission.

For self-preservation, I can totally see why he lied. In that sense, Eugene is incredibly smart.

It also makes him very difficult to trust. He ran with that lie long enough for several people to die for him.

I'd send him packing. You can't trust a guy like that with your life. Also it's hard to tell what his endgame was. At some point he knew Abraham would find out the truth.

I guess this is a bad time to mention that I ate the last box of Ring Dings.

This weeks was another "Going backwards to go forwards" ep, I hope the 2 final episodes before the show takes it's halfway break are focused on rescuing Beth and Carol from the Hospital.
