The Amazing Spider-Man The Web Fluid: Stolen, or bought? Oscorp, or not?

Sorry, it's just interesting to me.

Yea, that makes sense.

Although, I would think that the police would find it odd that a boy who does nothing in construction is constantly buying a certain amount of cabling while also living in a house with a woman who presumably doesn't have a job in construction either.

I would assume the web-shooters mix whatever he adds to the bio-cable fluid when they shoot it.

Ah, there we go. That would make sense then. But him altering the cable isn't confirmed either. I wonder if it's in deleted scenes.

My guess is that he "borrowed" it from OsCorp. I didn't get a feeling that this was something that you could buy at Wal-Mart.

I dunno.. flickchick has some good ideas, I wouldn't be surprised if you could buy it at walmart.

The police can't monitor the purchases of every citizen in NYC. They have no reason to be looking at what a science-loving kid in queens has bought. And again, I would think the bio-cable could be used for more than just construction.

Well, I doubt it's SO commonplace that you could buy it at Wal-Mart. I mean, you couldn't buy high-end mountain climbing gear in Wal-Mart either. I don't see why it wouldn't be available from specialty stores, though.

Right, right...

Hmm.. I wonder how large the web manufacturing area actually is. All we saw was pretty much one machine packaging it. Would imagine that there would be a large amount of those machines.. Unless Oscorp owns manufacturing plants that contain spider-rooms.

He did say it was special webbing he designed himself, though. If he was just talking about the shooters, the line could have easily been "web-shooters I designed myself." That leads me to believe he did modify the bio-cable substance itself to make the webbing.

There could've been other machines in that very building, too. Peter just went into one room, and it was a big place.

Well, he could of said webbing because that was actually what the bio-cable was, just in cable form.

Anyway, flickchick, you clearly put out a great theory that is completely possible given what we know.

I wonder if other people have different theories.

I personally think this is how the Green Goblin will track Spider-Man as Peter in his film.

Well when he webbed his leg you can clearly see that a mist was shooting out with the cable. So maybe he does mix something with the cable. It is also possible that he finds a way to create it himself.

That would involve peter stealing two spiders from oscorp and hosting a spider-farm.

This is one of several things that shouldve been explained in the course of the movie. I enjoyed the movie, and liked almost everything I saw on the screen, but Im hoping for an extended cut at some point. In my opinion, there are important moments that didnt make the cut because of time coinstraints.

Marc Webb said there will be no Director's cut.

All we can hope for are DVD extras.

You can clearly see the mist everytime he shoots a web. :funny:

There is an Ad. like video playing in Oscop that talks about the application of the Spider Web Cable. It shows an animation of the a car being pulled buy a thin line. Its possible he bought them online.

Maybe that's what is being added to the bio-cable? I'd imagine that it would just be a chemical agent that would loosen up the bio-cable and increase the speed at which it deteriorates.

... I like this idea. At least it would show that someone in OsCorp was competent.

Well, he is Norman Osborn. I assume he would review most sales records as the CEO/Owner of the company. He's also a genius.

It didn't really indicate anything like that. Maybe there is a deleted scene. I think they chopped off a good 15-20 minutes.

Nice thread Jexx. I was wondering the same thing.

But I hope they never confirm the real answer and leave it open to interpretation.

It's more fun this way. :yay:

Well, I dunno, if it's in a cut-scene, would it be confirmed, or still open to interpretation?

Um, sure. He stole it from OsCorp. I guess that's just as bad as being an outlaw vigilante. Cancel the movie.

Anyway, there should've been a scene explaining how he got it, but maybe Webb wanted to avoid it...Whatever the case, I just don't think he purchased the stuff.
