Comics The Wolverine thread

There's been a lot of noise since Wolverine regenerated himself from nothing more than his skeleton, fans are mad and non fans are even more mad, we all asumed that this particular display of Wolverine' powers was just the result of how overrated the character is and has been for some time.

Now, here it is the synopsis of Wolverine #48

WOLVERINE #48
Written by MARC GUGGENHEIM
Pencils & Cover by HUMBERTO RAMOS
Epilogue to "Vendetta"
Logan's survived a plane crash, near-decapitation and being burned alive. The question is... HOW? In this special epilogue to the sellout smash Civil War tie-in arc, the answers start to unfold. Think you know everything there is to know about Marvel's most popular mutant? Think again. Logan's newest mystery begins here.

So, aparently theres is a "reason" why wolverine survived being burned by Nitro, more than just making him "superwolverine", we have to wait and see.

I heard rumors that Wolverine was an alien or something? I hope this is not true.:down

Wow If he turns out to be an alien I will 100% hate the charcter that is wolverine. Anyone who thinks that idea is good is lying to themselfs and should go wrap their mouths around an exhaust pipe.

I have a question is it issue #50 that there is going to be a new team because I cant take much more Ramos art.

48 is the last issue with the current team, I think.

Let's hope they don't do something god awful as a "goodbye!". I don't see how Wolverine regenerating from a nuclear blast and whatever can ever be justified to be honest.

The only explanation that I'll except is that he has made a deal with Mephisto.

I don't see how Wolverine could be classified as a mutant anymore. It seems Wolverine has no weakness.

Mutants have weakness', so why doesn't Wolverine seem not have any weakness?

Why am I still reading Wolverine, I have no idea why.

On second thoughts I could kinda swallow that.. could be interesting.

Wolverine can still feel pain. So he does have weaknesses.

Well, yes, Wolverine does feel a certain amount of pain. Its just that Wolverine is now getting to the point of invulnerablity. It has been that way for quite a while with the character.

you have any idea how brave one has to be to charge into a fight knowing he is going to be shot or stabbed repeatedly knowing it is gonna hurt both to take the hit and heal from it??? that is something that makes him interestint to read at least to me

That's the thing that's made him LESS interesting over the years, the fact that he can charge into a fight knowing that the consequences will be temporary and nothing more. "Oh well, I'll take a few rounds of the machine gun, 's not like it'll kill me or anything!.. GRRARGH" :o

Yeaph, he never actually looks worried at all, i agree with you

Made more annoying by the fact that he actually CAN fight (look at his fight with Capt. in Origins).

Used to be that hurting him was fun for writers, but wasn't used all the time in mass amounts because they emphasized the fact that he was a skilled fighter. Now he's just a brawler.

true but have you ever been shot hurt like heck burns alot of ouch there. i also agree that they should show him using some skill, he is a master of 14 forms of martial arts

This is a cool pic. The new issue was alright. I thought it was kinda' cool to see Wolvie in an Iron man suit. I'm sure there'll be an action figure for that someday.:)

It reminded me of all the different type of Batman accessories and suits they'd have for him in the toy lines over the years. heh heh.

I'm really bored with the Civil War thing, I wish it was over. I'm just not into it at all.

yeah when he popped his claws i was like cool its wolvie not ironman, then i thought how did he talk tony into letting him use the suit

....which would be a weakness, since he says i cant breath underwater

It's only a matter of time. I bet in a few years he doesn't even need to breath. So even suffocating him to death won't be possible.

his powers are never set, just depends on the writer, look at greg rucka run

See thats why I cant wait for the new team because maybe they wont pull another wolverine as a God thing.

See the only other reason I could see that wolverine used some MGH but thats out of the question.:(
