The Wolverine The Wolverine Unleashed Extended Edition Blu-Ray: December 3

I'm more excited about the extended version than I thought I would be. Hell, I enjoyed the movie more than I thought I would. Really looking forward to adding this tommy collection.

I really want to order the below Steelbook but there's still no confirmation on whether it will be the Director's Cut or not. :cmad:

You know, every time this thread gets bumped, I think there's news on this. :argh:

Wonder how long they'll make us wait for the unrated extended cut

Thats what I want to know as well, in an ideal world I will wait for that to be released, but may end up getting both depending on my money situation at the time.

I had pre-ordered it from Amazon, but I canceled it as I want to make sure to get the extended version.

Release date official: 12/3. Available digitally on 11/19. This, according to their new cover image on Facebook.

No word if it's the extended cut or not. :argh:

I wonder if they are going to release the extended cut some time after the theatrical cut instead of the same time. At any rate, I will wait.

I will get the DVD In december.

Don't be shocked if extended cut comes out closer to DOFP.

If expanded cut also comes out on DVD I will get that too.

Is all the good stuff only on a 3D version and you need a 3D Blu-ray?

‘The Wolverine‘ was one of the most pleasant surprises of the summer, a shockingly low key and self-contained superhero story that valued its characters above action. Well, at least until the third act, but that’s a complaint for another time and place. The good news is that ‘The Wolverine’ DVD and Blu-ray will arrive on December 3 with an unrated version, allowing for more Wolverine-stabs-ninjas action than ever before!

Of course, with that good news comes a little bit of bad news. Although the “Unleashed Extended Edition” of ‘The Wolverine’ sounds cool, this alternate version of the film will only be available on one of the three available home releases. If you want to see the longer (and potentially gnarlier) version of the movie, you’ll have to pick up the 3D Blu-ray version of the film, which includes the extended cut as well as 3D and non-3D versions of the theatrical version. If that sounds like a bit of a ploy to get you to pick up the slightly more expensive 3D disc…well, you’re probably right.

However, the release does seem to offer plenty of bang for your buck. Both Blu-ray releases will contain an alternate ending, a ‘X-Men: Days of Future Past‘ set tour, an interactive featurette titled ‘The Path of the Ronin,’ the ability to sync the film with a partner app for a second screen experience and, of course, trailers. Sadly, the director’s commentary with Mangold will only be available on the 3D Blu-ray.

Fans who have yet to upgrade to high definition will probably find themselves hugely disappointed with the DVD release, which will contain only the theatrical cut and the vaguely titled special feature ‘Inspiration: A Ronin’s Journey.’

Which version of ‘The Wolverine’ will you be picking up on December 3, 2013? As you can see below, DVD owners will also get screwed out of the cool box art.

DVD Owners get screwed again:cmad:

If wanrer brothers can put expanded version of hobbit on DVD as well as blu ray why can't they do same here?

Still I will defently be buying the DVD

Blu Ray players are like 30 bucks now. The Blu Rays come with DVD's as well. So no ones getting screwed that bad. Eventually when you jump on BLu Ray you wont have to buy again. Worse has happened with re releases.

So were getting the extended cut on Dec 3rd!!! Hell YESSS!!!! Thank you for not double dipping Fox.

A lot of blu-ray players I have seen at wal-mart and at amazon are closer to
100 dollors than 30.Plus to get blu-ray to play on my computer I would have to get particular an entire new hard drive.Plus you have to get 3-d version to see
expanded version.

OK, so I HAVE to get the 3D version for the uncut film?
Forget that. Back to reg Blu ray for me.

A quick amazon search will find you Blu Ray players for 30/35. The sale price on the 3D combo won't be that bad at Walmart, Target and Best Buy upon release. Again studios are capable of much worse. This isn't that bad imo. It's worth the price for the Blu Ray and UV digital copy alone.

Can't wait for this. Really happy with the cover as well.

Great box art. Of course they'd attach it [unrated cut] to 3D to boost its sales because nobody cares about 3D that much (sorry).
