The Wolverine The Wolverine Unleashed Extended Edition Blu-Ray: December 3

^Yeah you have to buy the 3D set, but the EE is only in 2D anyway, so no 3D TV or Bd player required.

But the Extended Cut is on a Bluray disc, correct? I just want to make sure I didn't read what you wrote the wrong way.

Yes. But there is no 3D disc that has the extended cut. It is only on the 2D Blu Ray of the Unleashed edition.

Does everybody keep getting a pop up ad on this site(SHH) that says a virus has been detected and to scan your system now?

Not right now that I can see.
Cool, thanks.

No problem.

Finally get to watch the Extended cut tonight. Unleashed only cost me two bucks more then the normal Blu ray. Not bad. Got the last cop in my store.

So I dont have a blu ray player, does that mean I cant watch the unrated/extended version?

If you buy the 4 pack the dvd disc doesn't have the unrated version on it?? Only the blu ray disc has the unrated/extended edition, is that correct??

Extended cut was not MUCH different but better than the theatrical cut.

Definitely ramps up the violence, the blood and the language to notches not in the theatrical cut.

Makes it basically the R-rated Wolverine film fans were looking for. I really wish that the ending with the suit was in EITHER version, preferably both.

But, great flick.

Yes, the only version of the extended cut is on the Unleashed (4 disc Edition) 2D Blu Ray. The only other way to watch would be to grab it on itunes. The 3D and DVD disc in the Unleashed set is the normal theatrical version.

so the digital unleashed version on itunes/amazon is the unrated version?

Man, the ADR on Viper is even more noticeable on a smaller screen.

Dont know, havn't entered the code yet for itunes that comes with the 4 Disc set. I just know the Extended cut is available to purchase there separate. Im assuming they do not give you the extended cut for the Unleashed set on itunes for your download. I used the Vudu Ultraviolet code and it just gave me the Theatrical cut. Would think the same would apply.

So basically the options are:
1. Buy The 4 disc Unleashed set where ONLY the 2D Blu Ray has the extended cut.
2. Buy The Wolverine Extended cut separate on Digital from itunes, Amazon etc.

Picked up the 3D set tonight, however begrudgingly. Gonna watch it later tonight. :D

Thanks.

I guess its time to upgrade to a blu ray player

so i see this on amazon. Isn't this the extended unrated version? its only 2 disc and has a dvd and blu ray? is the extended version only on the blu ray

and how is it different from this "unleashed edition" besides the 3d blu ray?

will both of them give me the unrated/extended versions and alternate ending?

^Only the second one contains the extended version. With the unleashed edition you get 4 discs, the theatrical cut on blu-ray 3d, the extended cut on blu ray, the theatrical cut on blu ray, and the theatrical cut on dvd.

Thanks for the clarification. It bothers me that it says extended version on the cover of the 2 disc set

^Watched it last night, yeah it was very reminiscent of the X2 set visit on X-Men 1.5 DVD, great to see Singer back, he has aged a bit but he still seems very enthusiastic about this world.

He also mentions that DOFP is probably the biggest movie he has ever done. Considering SR cost around $200 million in 2006 the budget for DOFP must be very high.

I just watched the unleashed version (finally... Amazon was actually late delivering it) and I have to say that I really enjoyed it. I remember the theatrical version feeling a bit short, but this one was just right. I really enjoyed the extended fights and the added bloody splatter fun. I'm so glad they released this. What I'm even more glad about though is that when I do my X-men movie marathon in preparation for DOFP I won't have to stop with X3. That was always my biggest problem with doing an X-marathon. It always ended with X3... Hallelujah for good new X-men films!!!

Dont click it. Always a bad idea. :(

Exactly! Now X3 is just a filler episode.

Watching the extended cut now and it is a major improvement just to see the spatter and actual bloody claws. Worth the extra money. :D

Watched the extended cut last night and the extra blood and the few more F bombs Wolverine dropped was icing on the cake. I really liked the theatrical version but the extended version is what I'll be watching from now on.
