G'day,

Looks like I'm not the only one who thinks her costume is too dull. Here is Lynda Carter:

******************************************

The first photo of Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman was revealed at Comic-Con last month and fans seem to really like it. One person who isn’t as impressed is the original Wonder Woman, Lynda Carter. Carter is best known for playing Wonder Wonder in the 1970s TV show, and told Access Hollywood what she thought of Gal Gadot and her new costume:

Well, I was missing the red, white and blue, I have to say… I don’t know. I haven’t seen it yet, so I really can’t comment. Maybe there’s a lot more color in it than what we saw in the picture. It’s almost impossible to play a superhero anyway. You can’t. You just have to play a character that happens to do these amazing things. That’s the only way you can do it. And the costumes all take care of themselves, but it was a little more – I’ll have to wait and see. I hate to comment on something that I haven’t seen and I’m very supportive of Gal Gadot. I’m very supportive of them doing Wonder Woman, putting her in any capacity. I think she needs to be out there. … It’s high time somebody took a chance and did it and so I’m really happy about that.

Use the slider tool below for a comparison between Lynda Carter’s classic Wonder Woman look and Zack Snyder’s re-imagined costume:

Would you have preferred some brighter colors, or do you like Snyder’s darker take on the costume? Leave your thoughts in the comments below.

Well it is monochrome and filtered... -____- at least Lynda knows that since she says she'll wait to judge it. I'm sure it will have color.

fixed, the picture is NOT monochrome, the suits actual colors can mostly be pulled out by someone with decent experience with PS and knowledge of how color functions. It is most definitely red blue gold and silver though.

Okay, it's definitely filtered then. It's been "Snydered".

I wonder if those are the possible real colors of the costume :hmm

I think that Snyder's WW costume has some similarities with JL: Flashpoint paradox WW costume. (excluding the cape, crown and shoulder armour.)

To a degree, but they are both minor variants of the same original design, so the similarities may be coincidental.

From a distance, that Flashpoint Paradox picture on the left looks more like Maleficent in a WW costume. Probably because the crown looks like horns and the hair blends in with the dark background as well, and her face looks a bit scary. Plus she looks very tall and skinny.

I also saw a similarity in the greaves some time ago, they look very similar indeed, but I don't think they had that in mind or have even seen Flashpoint Paradox, it's just that both designs strived to mimic the shape of her usual classic shoes which made that angular triangle at the top.

Leather skirts have been drawn on Wonder Woman on several occasions, so it could be based on any of those designs, though I believe they mostly based it on Earth 2 costume (and if some of earlier WW depictions inspired them to give her greaves, I believe it's more likely they got the got that idea from this than from Flashpoint Paradox):

And, of course, bodice is obviously inspired by New 52 one.

And here I thought we could be friends. :p

I know a lot of people don't really like New 52, but I think it's a really cool modern update on everyone, I really enjoy new 52.

Well, "I'm glad for you" is all I can say. :woot:

But, really I am. No one in his sane mind enjoys disliking something he's supposed to like, so if I can't have the pleasure of reading it, I'm glad at least someone can.

Probably the wrong place, but I feel like there is just as much good and bad in the new-52 as pre-52

I think it's a bit worse. Or else, what was good and what was bad now seems to be switched around. I do enjoy relatively obscure titles like Swamp Thing.

I guess I am also including a number of things that were at this point cancelled, ended, or ending very soon (gonna miss the current iterations of WW and Green Arrow)

Brian Azzarello's run on Wonder Woman in the New 52 is probably the definitive run you could say of her origins now. I've read a bit of it and it's good.

Yeah, it's fine. WW and Aquaman have got back on track in the New 52, but a lot of other stuff has been screwed up.
