The Worst Sequel Concepts of All Time

Universal soldier 2 and 3....4 and 5. The first movie wasn't that good enough to make a sequel to.
Don't forget it was Universal Soldier 2:The Return, so obviously there were some unanswered questions since the first one. :whatever:

I know Al Pacino's Scarface didn't have a sequel but some comic book company actually had the balls to continue Tony Montana's criminal adventures, how the hell did he survive the finale's shootout??

Yeah, if Eisner was still at Disney, I'd be seriously afraid for Marvel. Fortunately, Iger doesn't seem like as much of a colossal dick-head, though he was Eisner's right-hand man.

I'm more worried about what is going to happen now with Disney being in control of Marvel, that I ever have been since they seem only interested in marketing instead of storytelling. I already see Spider-Man and the Hulk as action figures in another Toy Story film. Let the dread begin...

Yes, them appearing as cameos in a successful film franchise that would most likely help get those characters even further in the public eyes is horrible.:whatever: There totally selling out since they've never had action figures before.

Anybody say these yet

Leperchaun in the Hood
Leperchaun back in the Hood
Leperchaun in Space

...Have you seen any of the Pixar movies?:huh:

I think it's a given that every horror movie character has to have some sort of space adventure:

Jason X and Hellraiser 4:Bloodlines have done it.

I wouldn't place Aliens in this category since it's already a space based franchise.

Friday The 13th Part 6-8
Jason Goes To Hell: The Final Friday
Jason X
Freddy vs Jason
Halloween III
Laprechaun #2 & up
Home Alone #3 & up
Conan The Destroyer

Friday The 13th went to Hell in a handbasket as soon as they turned Jason into a homicidal zombie. Although I will give Jason X credit for changing Jason from a zombie to a regenerating mutant (like a psychotic mongoloid Wolverine without the adamantium claws).

It's a little known fact that the plot used in Halloween III was originally going to be used in Halloween II, but the producers decided they wanted to continue the story between Laurie Strode and Michael Myers instead. Thus everyones disapointment that Halloween III was not like 2 or 4.

Dino De Laurentis made a huge mistake in not bringing John Milius back as writer & director for the second Conan movie. Instead he hired people who made it a PG-13 piece of crap.

Halloween 3 is awesome. I dont get the hate. Its the perfect Halloween movie (the holiday). I watch it every year/

Still holds a special place in my heart:yay:

Guyver 2 was much better than the first one.

I think Jason X is great. As a comedy.:woot:

Seriously though, that movie is one of the most unintentionally funny movies I've seen in a long time. I love the scene where Jason goes after the black captain.

*Jason's hand breaks through the wall and Grabs the soldier, he also stabs him in the side with his machete.*

Soldier: It's gunna take more than that to put this old dog down!

*sound of Jason stabbing him again.*

Soldier: Ohp! That'll do it.

I laughed my ass off.

True enough, if you're watching the movie for a laugh that's about all it's good for. If you're looking for the same kinds of chills you got in parts 1 through 4 though, you'll be sorely disappointed.

Jason X was suppose to be funny. They intentionally made it that way I believe.

I still say you shouldn't make a PG-13 rated sequel to an R rated movie. If the first movie is rated R, the sequel should be too. Hell, Conan actually said "no" when a totaly hot virgin threw herself at him! Conan never says "no" to p**sy! He'd split her like wet pine then leave her the next morning! Also, they should've brought back Subotai from the first movie, instead of the whiny, gem swallowing little b**ch Malek. Damn that guy was useless. And the writing? They took random names and just threw them into the story without any regard to their backgrounds. "We need a queen. Here's one Taramis, let's use her." "We need a wizard to guard the key for Conan to kill. Here we go, Thoth-Amon. Let's use him."

In the novels & comics, Queen Taramis was a good and kind queen who was secretly replaced by her identical twin sister, an evil sorceress. That alone would've been a great movie. In the novels and comics, Thoth-Amon was a very powerful wizard and priest of Set. Even more powerful than Thulsa Doom in the first movie. He should've been the main villain in the movie, or even a trilogy of movies. Instead he was written as just a minor wizard left to protect a jewel. Very bad writing.

I wouldn't go so far as to say it was awsome, but if you didn't realize it was part of the Halloween franchise it's okay. The problem everyone has with it is they were hoping for the continued bodycount of Michael Myers and what the got was a story about killer robots and a plot by witches to use pieces of Stone Henge hidden in Halloween masks to stage the worlds largest mass human sacrifice. Now if they were using an anthology of various Halloween stories like their original intent, that would've been fine. But they made Halloween II a direct continuation of the first movie, which threw a monkey wrench into the plan.

Rambo 3
Legally blonde 2
weekend at bernies 2
jaws 3D
Beyond the poseidon adventure.
Home alone 3
AvP 2

I actually enjoyed Rambo 3. I know it's considered to be the weakest in the series, but it's certainly not the worst sequel, imo.

umm..what you said  . but can someone help me with the ending..i dont get it? did he lose or win?

I just think of Halloween 3 as an alternate universe entry.

Home Alone 3 - Macauly Culkin was no longer cute so they bring in an annoying brat to rehash the tired formula.

Robocop 3 - and what were they thinking about making it PG-13 and bringing in humanoid samurai fighters to kung fu kick Robo's @ss, he can barely walk straight.

I agree with this. Some movies I thought of after reading this was Robocop 3, Live Free or Die Hard, and Terminator Salvation.

RoboCop 3 tried to turn Robo into a kid-friendly, flying superhero with none of the violence or satirical/dark humor of the first two films.

In Live Free or Die Hard: the theatrical cut, Bruce Willis does not seem like he is playing John McClane at all. However, the unrated version, which is the R version does.

it was better than home alone 4

I just found out that Comedy Central was showing another sequel to Van Wilder, is that three of them already?
