I think that had to do more with the fans being solidly behind Bryan and refusing not to be, and significantly less with Punk at home sitting on his ass.

Not saying the fans weren't a part, but it's obvious (and been reported several times) that they had to scramble to change plans in the wake of Punk's absence. Punk was going to work with HHH, so with him gone, that gave Bryan the chance to fight him.

MAYBE Bryan would have gotten in the triple threat regardless, but I don't know how anyone could deny Punk leaving increased those odds significantly.

And I don't know how anyone could disparage Punk for leaving considering all the things he's done for our entertainment, and all the crap he's been put through since day 1 in WWE. If you disagree with his choice to leave, okay, but it's far more than just "He quit, screw him."

Did Christian quietly retire or did his injuries get worse?

if punk stays how does bryan get his title shot?

That is a good question! I am thinking his injuries got worse or he is just taking time off to be with his family. He recently just had a child so that would make sense. But we all know Christian is at the end of his career, he might stick around to train some NXT people but that would be about it.

But it makes me think about some of the wrestlers still active in WWE that were around during the attitude era. We still have

Kane

Triple H

Undertaker ( only at WM)

Big Show

Mark Henry

JBL (sort of)

Christian

Jerry Lawler (sort of)

You're right that there shouldn't be ill will towards Punk. It's those damn chants! :cmad: :cwink:

Ha, I agree there. The chants whenever AJ shows up are pointless and annoying. But occasionally, it's a welcome and appropriate sound, like in that Brie/Steph contract segment a couple weeks back.

Btw, did anyone notice how much Brock was sweating last night. It may just be me, but it didn't look right.

Meh I don't care if Punk ever returns to wwe or not,As for him quitting I feel he had lots of valid reasons to be frustrated but overall I think him walking out was not cool to do,I don't necessarily thing he quit on us but I see him as even bigger dick than before.

I always liked him enough to be a fan but never a huge mark for him,His Pipe Bomb run was awesome and thought he deserved a huge title reign but I didn't care about him not truly being a top guy in the company despite his similarities to Stone Cold

In wwe2k15 he'll be active in my universe..but just as a heel midcarder

Yeah. I kept being afraid that hit heart was going to explode or something. He was sweatier than The Rock in Fast 5.

Brock has always been a big sweater. Just how he is.

Yeah, I'm sure the E has there own medical teams that would notice or check up if something was wrong, plus Brock probably has his own team and/or doctors, so I'm sure it's all good.

Still can't get over how we saw the death of John Cena for just 9.99.

Does that mean we'll have to see him wrestle for a while in a skintight black and silver catsuit?

Darren Young will come back wearing a pair of mirror shades and call himself The Cenadicator.

So is Cena leaving tonight to take time off or until after NOC where he loses yet to Brock?,After Cena leaves for a bit and Reigns gets build up while Daniel is still out who should have a feud with Brock?.

Brock vs Sheamus at Survivor Series and next two ppvs after it?

It is, and it isn't.

He had very good reasons for leaving, and he had zero obligation to us to stay.

The guy gave us everything he had for years and couldn't take the bull**** and physical toll anymore. And he helped us avoid a Batista title win at Wrestlemania. It sucks but that's the way it is.

Now these are true.

I have nothing for Punk. He's one of the biggest ********s around when it comes to how he treats fans.. So I personally hope he fades away and everyone forgets about him.

Any excuse to repost this.

This just makes me think of back when Lesnar was in UFC, and Joe Rogan said that thousands of years ago, we would be sacrificing virgins at the mouth of Brock Lesnar's cave.

Not likely because the fans in attendance keeps chanting his name.

Nice night for the heels.

Major style points to Lesnar for riffing on Taker; major style points to Paige for gettin' it on with AJ (*please* elaborate on this further, Vince); major style points to Steph for dat outfit and dat ass, and for 4 Horsemen, and for kissing babies. Like the crowd said, "YOU STILL GOT IT."

Let the bad guys win every once in awhile. Last night, it was fun as hell for a change. :)
