I think itd be a great storyline and show that WWE has some cajones.

Around the net people still think Punk's leaving... I highly, highly doubt he is. I don't even really see him "taking a break."

Well I heard Cena needed some time off cause he has some minor nagging injuries just from wear and tear. So what would be epic is if Punk won the title, then they have someone cash the MITB in on him so people think "Oh so thats how they'll get the belt off him" then have Punk beat the MITB winner too. Then have the whole storyline being Punk do what he wants when he wants because he doesn't need to follow rules because he's not under contract.

This would be great, more so since both King and Cole said "The MITB winner always ends up cashing it in and winning the world of WWE title."

Having Punk end that kind of "tradition" would be great.

Thanks to Giancarlo Guazzotti for sending this in: I just wanted to say that WWE deleted the official Facebook fan page of CM Punk. A lot of people were writing on how awesome his promo on Raw was, which maybe has something to do with WWE's decision to pull the page.

Craig Harp sent in the following: CM Punk's page, with over 250,000 people that like him, has been taken off of Facebook.

I have no doubt WWE will let Punk take some time off and bring him back when he's ready. The buzz is too large around him right now and they wouldn't have let him cut the promo he did last night if they hadn't worked something out.

Because there's nothing post MITB that's gonna top what's happening now unless they continue this. Del Rio may win MITB, but he's not at the level Punk is, no matter what.

What if Punk wins,then the next night on Raw Vince waits in the ring expecting Punk to hand over the title,Punk refuses so for the next few months Punk is forced to face all these wrestlers week in and week out,trying to take the title off of him (and please their boss)he will go up against Daniel Bryan,Alberto Del Rio ect ect this goes on till Sept.


Eventually Vince has to swallow his pride and re hire Cena to try again to get the belt off Punk.The Vince/Cena will turn Cena heel (esp with him facing Rock at WM)Cena been fired will give him (cena)time to heel up

Punk's wearing the Austin shirt while cutting the promo makes sense. He was channeling a former anti-hero like character there. He had is Austin 3:16 moment, as others have said.

No matter what happens, this is a promo that will be long remembered. Punk will have many highlights, already had if you watch ROH, and this might top them all. It was just so good to watch, I hope that Punk is sticking around to build off this some more. It would be a shame for WWE to lose him at this point.

THAT would be amazing and I have absolutely no faith in the WWE to pull that off.

At this point I don't have much faith in the WWE taking this and making it a great angle. We've seen just recently a wrestler stepping up their game and taking a scripted angle to another level (not as great as this but I was enjoying R Truth a great bit) but it devolved into "Cena Is Awesome" which I'm sure this will as well.

This angle has limitless potential. They're straddling the line of kayfabe without breaking it. But reading the spoilers for next week has left me disheartened.

I haven't watched a wrestling program since well before I left WWE 2+ years ago. Heard about CM Punk's promo and watched it this morning-WOW! That was awesome, as good as I have ever seen. I worked with CM when he first became champ-really enjoyed it and really happy to see what a stud he has become. When you can put doubt as to whether shoot or work-you have done your job very well!

Agreed, the only thing that would save this angle from going that route is that Cena is working hurt and needs time off. If he doesn't take time off then they can kiss Wrestlemania good-bye cause he is not gonna make it if he keeps going like this.

IMO and mind you this is just a gut feeling but I believe that last night marked the beginning of the end of WWE PG. I means ever since the Rock and Stone Cold have been popping up everything has been pointing in that direction but Punk kind of solidified the nail in the coffin. I'm not saying their going to Attitude Era extreme more like Attitude Era light (WWE PG-13, lol)
