Funny or Die released this hilarious video today of Kurt Angle competing for the 2012 Olympic Trials with the help of RVD. The video also features a small cameo from Miss Tessmacher.

Kurt still has great comic timing!

This is a 10/10, 5-star vignette right here. Why, why, why can't the WWE produce this anymore?

I still don't see how Rock thinks he can just put himself in a title match when he's only wrestled ONCE this year and hasn't won a number one contenders match or anything. WWE feels like they can book however they want for certain guys the hell with logic or rules.

It's a conundrum. I don't know who the top dog is or why Rock would pick the Royal Rumble over Wrestlemania. There's no logic and technically they should all want to face The Undertaker.

The fact 55% WWE's own "Universe" voted for Punk vs Rock in a 3-way poll shows there isn't that big of an interest in a Rock vs Cena II, probably because the first was so underwhelming.

I'm pleasantly surprised by the WWE universe. Although some of them might want to see Punk get squashed for turning heel.

- In addition to WZ, I work with the Pittsburgh Tribune-Reivew, where we're reporting The Great Khali was at UPMC Presbyterian medical center on Wednesday having a brain surgery operation.

He was suffering from a tumor in the Pituitary gland which required a four-hour procedure that was successfully completed.

- F4WOnline.com is reporting that Sheamus' current push as World Champion is being booked similarly to how Triple H was booked when he first won the World Title in that Sheamus is being carefully protected and suffering very few clean losses.

F'n awesome!

Not a fan of Khali but glad his surgery went well.

I watched the Undertaker streak blu ray. The documentary is a disappointment. It runs about 37 minutes and basically skips over most of his opponents using highlights. They use archive footage of a Snuka interview which was good to see but they don't go into the history of the matches. There are some interviews with Triple H , HBK , Mark Henry, Orton , Edge , and Batista. However they mainly talk about what it was like to face Undertaker without much depth. I wasn't sure if Shawn Michaels was kidding or not when he spoke. They do put over the streak enough and show Undertaker as a dominant force. Some of the highlights are cool to watch because they use different camera angles. Also Cena gets a lot of time on here. He seems like the next logical opponent for the Undertaker.

It's not bad for die hard Taker fans but probably best to hold off for a sale.

Kurt Angle is one ugly woman

Also, what the hell?

Smackdown was good, essentially a pure wrestling show.

Cesaro, Ryback, Mahal and Sandow all get good runs out and Sandow addressed those "Repulsive ruffian wretches" DX. :D

Miz vs Christian and Cody vs Sheamus were both very good matches but I wish they'd vary up Sheamus finishes, they are so sterile when the Brogue kick should be booked as an out of nowhere move like SCM. The main event is good with a lot of action but the outcome is a snoozer.

Interestingly they showed 3 'Touts' responding to Punk hitting Rocky with the GTS, oddly all of them in support of Punk as it's "his time" now.

Oh, and Lillian looked amazing. :hrt:

Austin Vs. Punk - This will more than likely happen now since Austin's demand of Punk being a heel has been catered to.

Cena Vs. Rock II (WWE Championship) - Cena gets another feel good win and smarks can quit b*tching that Cena wasn't given the rub by Rock.

Lesnar Vs. Undertaker - Undertaker gets his win back to make it 21-0

Wrestlemania 29 is going to be awesome!

I still don't see how Rock thinks he can just put himself in a title match when he's only wrestled ONCE this year and hasn't won a number one contenders match or anything. WWE feels like they can book however they want for certain guys the hell with logic or rules.

Austin beats Punk and leaves the next night, Taker beats Brock and both are gone immediately, Cena beats Rock and Rock is gone the next night. Then a few weeks later WWE will ask "Errrrr why is our 3 hour Raw struggling for ratings?"

Eh I don't give a damn about ratings,I still want to see Austin vs Punk or Punk vs Rock even IF Austin&Rock will leave the next night,I'd be up for Taker vs Brock or Cena too!!

I want WWE to do good in business But I'm more of a fan than just caring about the company's business in the long run

Ratings are mostly down cause of the product and not cause the icons&legends leaving after a big match

You think a match like Punk vs Cena for the title yet again will do great business&better than Austin or Rock vs Punk?,Hardcore&many casual fans are wanting the legends back even IF for one night,They appreciate an appearance&a match than none at all

I'd have no issue with Punk vs Rock or Austin...if Punk, the full-time guy who the company depends on to the carry the company...wins.

Punk beating Rock or Austin at WM and for the title would make him a much bigger star!

The point of Rock defending the title at WM is likely to put over someone,He won at WM 28 in his home town after a year build-up match,Now he'd be not just losing But the title,Cena or especially Punk going over will be huge for them

I don't really care what those people want as 95% of them don't support week in and week out. I also don't care about ratings, I was just pointing out than when the ratings sink WWE will ask why, not realizing they are the reason why.

Austin, Rock and Triple H would never have gotten their time as stars to become legends if every year some has-been came back at the main PPV's and beat them.

And then people will start complaining about no new stars.

But wait, we've gotta have our nostalgia! Smell the buyrate!

You'd think after the buyrate for Mania was not a record breaker WWE would realize a well built feud between regular roster members >>> Nostalgia act.

http://www.wrestlezone.com/editorials/258603-the-anti-antagonist-legends-making-legends

In the weeks leading up to Raw 1000, I, and many others, justifiably recognized what appeared to be the WWE engaging in a bit of a holding pattern. For whatever reason, the shows appeared to be treading water in a way that made the last month or so of programming somewhat forgettable.

The explanation given by many individuals revolved around Raw 1000…that WWE somehow was holding back on much of its content for the show. While I potentially bought this argument from the standpoint of the WWE Title picture, it simply made no sense in regard to the rest of the roster. Legends weren’t going to come back for the 1000th Raw to engage in a mid-card feud.

Against this backdrop, I have to say that I went into Raw 1000 with tempered expectations. I certainly looked forward to reminiscing, but I expected little in the way of current product development. That doesn’t mean that I wasn’t excited for the show or that I ultimately didn’t enjoy what I watched…it simply meant that an earth shattering occurrence was not on my must-see list.

For the most part, my assessment of the situation was correct. There was no “knock your socks off” summer angle and the returning legends accomplished no more or less than was expected…They had fun, made themselves and Vince McMahon money, and put a smile on the face of every long-time mark. It truly was the status quo…except for one important instance.

I wrote a few weeks back that WWE’s usage of part-time legends has consisted of nothing more than cash grabs that have provided little to no benefit for the current product. Rock/Cena was exciting and essentially was a license to print money. However, at this stage of his career, a feud with the Rock was unnecessary to propel John Cena into another echelon…that level already has been obtained.

The same can be said for the Undertaker…Although two straight years have provided epic Wrestlemania bouts with HHH, both men immediately retreated from regular programming…Likewise, following his own back to back Wrestlemania dates with the Deadman, Shawn Michaels retired…Legacies certainly were enhanced, but when the dust settled, what benefit was felt by the current roster?

It is the shadow of this recent history that made the CM Punk heel turn and subsequent interaction with the Rock one of the most important developments in recent memory. First and foremost, CM Punk needed a spark…a change of pace to reintroduce a significant level of intrigue into his character. His biting and brutally honest commentary always has been tailor-made for a heel persona and this turn will allow him to speak freely without the need to pander to the sensitivities of the crowd.

In short, WWE has been lacking a dynamic main event caliber heel for sometime…there is no doubt in my mind that Punk will fill this void to perfection while creating a fresh new chapter in what has become an impressive WWE Title run.

More importantly, however, this turn has established a feud that will go a long way toward breaking the trend of utilizing part-time legends for the sole purpose of filling the coffers. Unlike John Cena, CM Punk has room to grow professionally from a feud with a legend the caliber of The Rock. Put aside the pure gold that will ooze from every verbal exchange, the simple fact is that the hype alone behind this feud will thrust Punk into the rarified air of superstardom…we’ve known he’s had the goods, but a message cannot be heard by the masses without the proper platform.

As Punk benefits, so too will the rest of the guys and gals in the back. When the top of a roster is deep and electrifying, the buzz and work-rate surrounding every show increases exponentially. As a result, building regularly appearing mega-stars who aren’t named John Cena has to be an essential component of WWE’s plan going forward…If the pipebomb heard round the world made Punk a permanent fixture in the Main Event, a prolonged program with The Rock may help launch a legacy that is a permanent fixture in the mind of every fan.

In the end, although Punk’s heel turn made perfect sense purely from a creative standpoint, the one thought that flashed through my mind as Raw went off the air was how impressive he looked and felt in going over The Rock. For a superstar chomping at the bit to take the next step forward, the degree of rub achieved via a legitimate pairing with a legend is invaluable.

Without question, I see big things for CM Punk in the near future. More importantly, though, I hope this experience will remind WWE that proper usage of its deep cache of homegrown legends can consist of more than a one-time ratings and revenue spike...Reminiscing about yesterday is not without it pleasures, but more than anything, yesterday is best used to forge a greater tomorrow.

There's talk that Cena might win the Title at Night of Champions. Ugh if thats the case have him hold the title till the ROyal Rumble lose it to the Rock and then have Punk win the RR and have him beat Rock for the title at WM. I swear I think a lot of people can write better stuff than what the WWE comes up with these days.

As long as in the end it's Punk vs Rock or Rock vs anybody But loses the title at WM and is not facing Cena at WM again..I'll be happy!

They'll make up for it with Extreme Rules. I've realized Wrestlemania has become the dog and pony show the last couple of years.

I really want Punk to have the title at least for one whole year. Of course, "Push Killer" John Cena won't let that happen like how he fu**ed over Alberto Del Rio by getting a pointless title win off him.

Make up for it how? I highly doubt Austin or Rock will hang around to work Extreme Rules. Rock didn't do it this year, so I doubt he'll do it next year. They'll get their Mania payday, and roll out.
