Rollins is glorious in the top heel spot but a double turn with Reigns and Rollins would be best right now IMO. Rollins is the ultimate architect and have him outsmart Authority, Heyman, Reigns everyone etc.

I would love that angle. And honestly, it's the best for business. Seth Rollins as the infiltrator to get what he wants. It'd be terrific storytelling and honestly, the best improv the 'E could do to salvage the Royal Rumble situation.

Also anyone else watch this? Time Travelling Daniel Bryan explains why people are upset about the Rumble FIVE years ago

:wow:

I wish they would let Bryan cut some more angry promos like that now, as opposed to playing the humble "man of the people" character in all of his promos.

That is the one flaw of Bryan. Literally, it's his only flaw. But I'm sure it isn't his own doing.

This is the Roman the wwe needs

I'll say it again, I'm starting to believe that the only way Vince will truly learn his lesson if he his decisions for Mania get a chance to bite him in the ass and if that means Bryan/Ziggler get a hell of a match while Reigns/Lesnar gets crapped on for that to happen then...by all means.

At this point, I'd rather laugh at them squirm for their own stupidity because they deserve it....BIG TIME.

Anytime I try to leave wrestling behind, I'm reminded of guys like Bryan, Ziggler, Rollins, Ambrose, Paige, and the NXT crew. People who need THE support. That's when I kinda stick around.

The Thursday, January 29th live edition of WWE SmackDown from Hartford, Connecticut scored a final 2.06 (2.1)
cable rating, according to Nielsen Media Research. The 2.06 (2.1) final draw marks a slight increase compared to last week's show, which delivered a 1.97 final cable rating.

Thursday's live SmackDown show averaged 2.952 million viewers for the SyFy Network, which was also up from the previous week's show, which averaged 2.814 million viewers.

The rating and viewership for this week's show is the biggest audience to watch WWE SmackDown on their new Thursday night weekly time slot. Additionally, SmackDown was once again the highest rated original programming on cable television for Thursday night.

The last time SmackDown drew a bigger number than this week was for the January 31, 2014 edition of the show, which delivered a 2.18 rating and averaged 3.027 million viewers.

Lets be real here, Rock vs Cena II and Triple H vs Lesnar got weak reactions at WrestleMania 29, while Punk vs Undertaker was the hottest match. It didn't matter though, did it?

Vince doesn't care, and will either "not care" himself until financial ruin, or he'll be unceremoniously fired from his position. Possibly along with the Haitch and Steph.

Watched the 1/30 Road to New Beginning show and Tanashi ends the match using the Styles Clash before connecting with High Fly Flow. **** just got real.

Depends, with the network they can instantly cancel after the PPV and just might if they haven't already. They are already being dishonest about the 1 mil subscribers since that's cumulative and not active or they would have said 1 mil current subscribers.

Some in Wall Street already are predicting a big financial loss coming for the company.

Russo on the handling of WWE's CORE 8:

I wanted to spend this morning really trying to concentrate on what’s good with the WWE these days, and where I would immediately start to build the very foundation of the company. In going up and down the roster, even though there are some personalities I absolutely admire to death, Mizdow and Paige being the first two that come to mind, I don’t think that anybody can argue that right now the WWE possesses a CORE 8 within their roster that they absolutely need to focus their total concentration on as they move into the next decade of professional wrestling.

When you look at the roster—there are the top guys that are still over. In that category I would put Cena and Orton first . Both these guys are proven and still young enough to help get the future of the WWE over. On the flip side of that, guys like Kane and Big Show are so past their prime right now, that no matter who they put over—it isn’t helping the future of the company. Reigns can go out there every night and beat the Big Show and he is accomplishing absolutely nothing. Same with Daniel Bryan and Kane. Certain others fall into that category for me. Is Sheamus still over? Does anybody really still care about him any more? At this point, I think he means nothing unless the WWE rebuilds him—probably as a heel. What about The Miz? Do the fans care enough about him to make him matter? At this stage—I really don’t think so. Perhaps you can still get some use out of a guy like Goldust, or Dustin Runnels. If you make Goldie the monster heel he was 15 years ago—Dustin may still have some value in helping get people over.

Batista is an island on his own, because I don’t think that anybody really knows where he stands contractually, and really at this point, Brock Lesnar shouldn’t be putting anybody over, other than who is next in line to be “the guy”. Harper and Rowan? A total rebuild needs to take place—the WWE creative—Vince—has totally killed these two guys by just failing to give them anything with substance, other than Rowan having the ability to solve the Rubik’s Cube during one interview.

All that brings us to the Core 8; Reigns, Rollins, Ambrose, Ziggler, Wyatt, Bryan, Ryback and Rusev. All the WWE attention and resources should go RIGHT HERE—directly on the X-MEN of the WWE. All focus and concentration needs to be bestowed upon them if the WWE wants to have a strong existence over the next 10 years. Creative—Vince—needs to get his head out of his patutty and give these guys both character and story that are going to make the WWE money, and grow the audience in the process. Just putting guys out there to wrestle each and every week doesn’t constitute in getting them over—it takes much, much more than that.

If you want to know if a guy is “over” or not, just ask the question—Who Is INSERT NAME? Who is Dolph Ziggler? Who is Ryback? Who is Roman Reigns? If you can’t clearly answer that question with a refined description of that character–then the WWE creative team—Vince—hasn’t done his job. And, the constant green, yellow and red traffic-lighting of each only hurts more. Remember when Ambrose was doing something special every week? Weak as some of that material was—the green slime, the hot dog cart, giving away the merch—at least it was something. He spent the last month with Bray Wyatt just being limited to trying to get over by putting himself through tables. That’s not enough. What happened to the story of his father that Bray started to tell? And, speaking of Bray—what was with that hologram of 4, or 5 months ago that WWE Creative—Vince—just somehow forgot all about. Ryback cuts a money promo on RAW, two weeks later he is fired. What has Dolph done since the Survivor Series? Are you seeing a pattern here? Nobody’s getting over because theirs no FOCUS and CONSISTENCY being put on these characters on a week-to-week basis. That, my friends, is your problem.

The talent is there, and I’ve been saying that over the past 8 months since I started this site, but yet, outside of Seth Rollins, there’s been little, or no advancement. That has to change. If not—-the WWE will just remain boring and completely stagnant. The problem isn’t and hasn’t been on the talent, it’s been on those who the talent solely depend on—once again—Vince.

Thoughts on what's said here?

People can hate Russo all they want, but I'd take the guy back with open arms in a heartbeat. Anything to get this company out of the damn shape it's in!

Russo would be better for the WWE than Vince and (to a certain degree) Haitch, right now.

Russo deserves every last bit of hate he gets. That doesn't mean he can't have good ideas sometimes.

If Russo ever came back, Daniel Bryan's next ppv main event would be a Brie Bella on a Forklift Match.

If Austin does a 3rd podcast on the WWE Network, I hope Kevin Dunn is the guest.

Vince Russo is a different man now. These days, Bryan would save Nikki from being stoned to death by a vengeful crowd, then wander the desert and be tempted by Bray Wyatt, only to be betrayed by John Cena, all set to a pretty good 70s rock score.
