Everyone recall Triple H's entrance at last years Mania?

Well I just watched an interview with Steph where she talks about the plans to take the Skull King character and market it in as many ways as possible including comics, animated movies and maybe even a live action movie, they already sell the mask.

Loved HHH's intro and it suited his whole mind of a strategist in the the body of a barbarian warrior or his cerebral assassin/king of kings style but I just don't see that character working very well outside of an entrance.

The look isn't exactly new ground in outside of WWE.

I've actually wondered if HHH takes inspiration for a few things from Highlander. The King of Kings theme even sounds like it was written for the Kurgan.

It MIGHT work in comics but even the more "theatrical" wrestling characters haven't been huge hits in comics. You'd think Taker, Kane, Sting, and Warrior would be perfect fits for the comic book world

K-Kwik better be careful. Vince could have a downward spiral half a second later and demand to be called Abelbethmaachah Helkathhazzurim Ramathaimzophim while slapping him with an used Odor-eater slathered in mayonnaise.

It's funny, I saw the same interview a while ago, and all the time it felt as though Steph was pulling Trips strings. :hehe:

dont care what anyone says the old undertaker chaos comic was great and really suited him, kane and mankind

I only read a few of those and they were amusing. Those are three of the few wrestling characters that could work in a comic because their characters aren't as wrestling centric. They created a whole mythology. Kanes outfit looked like something from a comic book.

The books weren't amazing but a better than the recent WWE comic. Cena and HHH fighting monsters? Ugh.

Then there was this:

That is awesome! He should wear that more often. Hopefully Triple h has something special planned for his entrance this year.

Yeah Cena's a *****ebag for getting some payback on the guy that cost him the WWE title.

The guy cost him the WWE title because Cena attacked him from behind like a coward. And it was absolutely stupid that there was no payback at Survivor Series.

Makes sense since Hunter couldn't get the roles he wanted of Conan or Thor. If somebody won't give you a chance, make your own. I love The Skull King even if it reminds me of Shao Khan.

I know Kurgan, but as for this guy (to quote Lex Luger), I DON'T KNOW!

Re: Cody's IC title defense at WM 28

I can't believe Goldust got the shaft!

Goldust hasn't compete for months. I like the idea of Cody vs. Goldust, but Big Show is perfect for Cody's progression.

Was looking at the Cena/Punk promo segment before Summerslam last year. Man this was some good stuff. I can't wait for the next round in their series.

Seriously Punk/Cena next WM is fine with me.

But knowing them they'll waste it on a Raw.

Yeah , Ultimate Warrior , Kane, and Undertaker all seem like they could easily translate to the comic world. I could just never get into the stories.

It would of been a good storyline but it seems like they are almost ready to elevate Cody to the next level.

I think Punk brings out the best in Cena. Absolute gold

I was watching the Rock vs Austin match from Backlash 99 on his set earlier today. This is one of my favorite moments. ( When Rock uses the camera )

According to WWE.com, Goldust is STILL a WWE Superstar, so we could have a match between them at SummerSlam if we are lucky.

If Cena DID attack him from behind I doubt it was for no reason. Somebody with a better memory than me can point it out but Cenas been such a boyscout that I doubt it was unjustified.

Besides since when has the Rock always been an upright boyscout himself?

HHH regularly plays the arrogant hammer swinging son (in law) of a guy who has thought of himself as a god. Close enough.

Cena was the first to break the physical barrier. Rock repaid the deed at Wrestlemania. Rock then did it again at Survivor Series. I think they're basically even though , both men have provoked each other verbally.

Just a couple things I wanted to respond to reading back through this thread...

1.) Technically, The Rock didn't "cost" John Cena the title at Wrestlemania. The match had already ended as a draw due to the double count out before The Rock's interference, therefore Miz would have kept the belt. So if The Rock never got involved, Cena still wouldn't have had the belt.

2.) Wasn't MITB cancelled this year? I thought I read somewhere in this thread that MITB was cancelled for the Laurinitis v. Teddy Long feud?

I thought MITB was returning to Mania?

Wrong. Rock restarted the match himself then Rock bottomed Cena . He DID end up costing him the WWE title. He restarted the match AND he interfered.

Coulda woulda shoulda. It happened the way it happened. We aren't talking about what ifs or how it "would have turned out if"...but what really went down when the dust settled. Rock wanted his payback and that match was getting restarted. He apparently had the power and he wasn't going to leave it like that.

He could have let Cena lose "clean" (by count out) but he restarted it so he could personally stick it to Cena. Hell that makes it worse.

Apparently it might be nixed from Mania again. That sucks since 8 guys won't get on the card that way. On the other hand those same 8 guys could easily end up on Team Long and Team Laurinaitis so they might make the card either way.

This is also the first year in a few years that the carded is shaping up to be strong enough to not even need MITB to help it look better.

Plus MITB is one of the few themed ppvs that can sustain itself with its gimmick so I don't mind seeing it continue on as its own show.

That's what Cena deserved for watching Miz and Reilly jump the Rock and then after he fights them off, give Rock an AA like a punk. I remember after that happened, everyone calling that a sissy heel move. I jumped and cheered when he got rock bottomed

Despite the fact that the Rock made a career out of doing the same things. In the Attitude Era Cena would get CHEERED for doing that.

The Rock also didn't mind running his mouth against Cena. People b*tch when Cena is all "awe shucks use me for a doormat" boyscout but then when he actually strikes they call it a "sissy heel move."

Cena just gave the Rock a taste of his own medicine.

Austin used to do that all the time, I remember when Shamrock saved him from the Hart Foundation, Austin stunned him.

Yeah, that was great. :funny: It fit Austin's character at the time, because he was the anti-hero who "embraced the hate" the day he was born, but we liked him because he hated everyone more or less equally.

Cena is more like 1980s Hulk Hogan, who wants all the faces to like him, and is only merciless to the heels. An Austin-type Cena would never be friends with Zack Ryder; he'd have been the one to put him in the wheelchair in the first place.
