You know, in response to the Carlito bit with The Rock, I do find it rather funny how there's so much resentment regarding The Rock returning, but everyone is just waiting in anticipation for Austin to come back...

So with one guy, it's "taking a spot away from someone in the back", but with another, it's okay, and people anticipate it...

You mean amongst wrestlers or fans?

So will the WWE allow Bryan and Punk to do video packages wishing ROH congratulations on a decade?

There are reports circulating online that former WWF star Doug Furnas passed away in his sleep Friday night. He was 50 years old.

That's sad to hear. I enjoyed him and Lafon's matches against Davey and Owen.

I've been catching up with some Tyson Kidd matches and it's a real shame he's relegated to NXT as he's a tremendous performer. WWE need to put a manager with him and get him on one of the main two shows post-Mania.

He's really good. I think the only option is to reunite him with Natalya.
They tried sticking him with everyone else , can't remember where they went with that storyline. The other idea would be for him to have a '1-2-3 Kid moment 'where he gets an unexpected win against a top heel and maybe the crowd will rally behind him. Maybe teaming with Barreta will work out.

I'd have fellow Canadian Lance Storm manage Kidd. I just think there demeanor and attitude would mesh.

I don't see how one has any bearing on the other.

I'm still fine with two separate big titles because, as others have said before, people like Mark Henry would almost never have a shot at one single title.

That's exactly why I think there should only be one world title.

Idk; at this point, the brand extension is pretty only here by name. There's nothing keeping any star from any show from performing on the other show every now and then.

Plus, giving a guy the available world title takes away its credibility imho. Heck, they focus so much on the two world titles that there's barely any challengers for the IC and US titles.

If they do combine the world titles, then they better give the mid-card titles some of the spotlight.

Maybe this will give them time to finally develop a tag-team division.

I couldn't agree more. The US belt in just decoration for Jack Swagger as he wrestles tag team matches right now. What kind of sense does that make?

The US and IC belts have long, proud histories. WWE could focus their two shows on those belts and have unifed WWE title matches mostly on PPV.

I think it's just the Hollywood thing got out of hand!

Some of the wrestlers POV-Rock got noticed in Hollywood cause of wrestling and he left full-time for it,In the years that he was gone WWE invited &wanted him even IF for small appearances and Rock denied and it seemed in early interviews that he wanted to forget all about WWE and focus on his movie career,Even dropping the Rock nickname for a while,He's back and many of the"boys"get offended that he acts like a movie star even backstage and doesn't talk to much people,Last WM was focused on Rock hosting and what he was going to do and this WM has gotten a whole year build-up with the match over-shadowing everything elsse

Some fans POV-Rock was seen as a sell-out the day he left,Many feel he's been getting way too much attention since last year,Rock has had hatter fans since the Attitude Era itself when he was hated with such passion like with Cena

Stone Cold-He left cause of injuries,He has had tons of appearances in the Rock's missing years,He has"hanged with the boys"(according to them in interviews)backstage,IF he were to have a HUGE match at a WM against someone like Punk or even Cena..It'd mostly likely be build up in months instead of over a year

See I've heard that it wasnt the rock that didn't want to be assoiciated with wrestling and not be a part of it. I've heard that in late 2004 he was released from wwe contract without his knowledge. This crested tension between him and Vince which is why he wasn't seen at all until 2007.
Hell I've even heard he wanted to wrestle Randy Savage at wrestlemania 21 but then found out he was no longer s part of the wwe.

I definitely remember this one; this was the next day after RAW, when everyone found out how Benoit died.

And pretty much, I think, the last time his name was ever mentioned on WWE television again.

I heard the same as you Kal that they let his contract run down and didnt even offer him a part time one which just pissed the rock off

Rather interesting, since they pretty much determined it was dementia that had caused him to do what he did. I think the real reason Benoit's name isn't mentioned any more is Vince didn't appreciate having to defend the WWE because of what happened.

That's pretty much the gist of it. I do recall him getting invited for one of the RAW anniversaries and he turned it down. And the "keeping to himself" thing is a big sticking point as well.

First time hearing about this. Interesting.

These need to be unified.THe us title seems mostly forgotten and they canbarely focus on both at thesame time let alone defend them on thesame ppv. Unifying the titles would definately bring back some meaning to it.

I'm not sure which was the biggest (utterly avoidable) fiasco: the Benoit "tribute show" or Stephanie's 9/11 comments (she should have been taken off the air permanently for those).

It's even funnier that we're getting more responses of people defending Rock as opposed to most of the "anonymous" mentions of people being against Dwayne returning and even except that, we've only heard a few outspoken performers such as Punk and Orton and even they have lowered their tone and resentment.

I didn't realize Lance Storm and Carlito still WORKED there anymore. :whatever: Oh wait...they don't. They're more free to speak their mind without angering their bosses.

Wrestlers trying to stay in good with WWE's braintrust is nothing new. DiBiase defended the Vince vs God angle. His sons were also trying to get jobs there at the time. Coincidence?

Mark Henry deserved that world title more than damn near anyone on the roster. Best monster to come along in a long time. He wasn't Triple H's workout buddy so he wasn't going to get shots as easily as some.

If the Miz can get a world title Henry is certainly deserving.

If they do combine the world titles, then they better give the mid-card titles some of the spotlight.

Maybe this will give them time to finally develop a tag-team division.

We know thats not going to happen without a massive overhaul of the way they present shows, build stars etc.

The way creative works has change in the last decade. A lot has changed in the last decade. No major big money competition, fewer places to learn, etc.
They had a chance to make the womens and Tag titles matter more with their unifications but they mean less now.

Also we wouldn't of gotten Daniel Bryan s entertaining reign. Brand split is a good idea just not enough stars right now so smacksown looks inferior.

Probably Stephanie's comments.

Benoit's "tribute show" was done before the full knowledge of what happened came out. As I recall, the facts only came out while the show was going on. I think Regal was the first person who was suspicious just based on his comments during the broadcast.

The day after on ECW, Vince McMahon apologized for the show.

What were Stephanie's 9/11 comments?
