The Wrestling Thread Is Driving Through Suplex City! - Part 201

Such a proud lineage it has with such venerable champions like Joey Abs and "one of Godfather's Hos".

:funny: True, but I think today it could work especially with guys like Harper and Ambrose (as stated in the article) where they can really utilize their out-there personas while waiting for the proper time to bring them into the main event scene.

I've had this idea for a storyline where they bring back the Cruiserweight title as a world-level title, the Cruiserweight champion wins the Rumble but refuses to face the WHC because he's already a world champion.

Meh, I'm not really in favour of introducing any new championships right now. If you need plot devices to get the crowd into lower-card matches, bring back #1 contender matches at PPV events, and build grudges around them. You can have the US or IC title defended under hardcore rules to make it more special, and I will still beat my drum about turning the IC title into a Cruiser/X-division title in everything but name, to avoid bringing back the Cruiser title only to abandon it again when someone at WWE changes their mind on a whim.

Yeah, it's wishful thinking on my part. But as a smaller dude the Cruiserweight title was always my personal favorite, and I always dreamed of it being contested for on the same level as the WHC because it WAS a world championship. It even said on the damn WCW version of the belt, "WORLD Cruiserweight Wrestling Champion", just like the TV title.

The unpredictability and spontaneity of the hardcore championship was what made it fun.

True, but it was a joke that could get old after a while, and when that's done you're left with another belt few people care about anymore.

Think about how much better it would be if Ambrose won the US title, for instance, and declared in the ring one day that for the length of his reign, the US title will only be defended under 24/7 hardcore rules. Just because he's that insane and he lives for that kind of stuff. And yet Ambrose keeps retaining the title, due to his own abilities and crazy jammy shenanigans as well.

Then it becomes a storyline that can be done, then finished when it has served its purpose. No need to introduce a title, then to yank it back again, which I feel devalues all the remaining titles.

Daniel Bryan Apparently Pulled From WWE European Tour

Daniel Bryan has apparently been pulled from the rest of the current WWE European tour. The most recent advertising for the rest of the tour has Bryan removed from the remaining shows.

We noted earlier this week that Dave Meltzer mentioned on Wrestling Observer Radio that Bryan has been working hurt. Bryan has been competing mostly in six-man matches, and has only worked two singles matches since winning the Intercontinental title at WrestleMania 31 earlier this month. He hasn't wrestled on RAW the past two weeks.

Bryan did work last night's SmackDown taping in London, teaming with John Cena. We hope to have more shortly.

Damn, hopefully it isn't too serious. :(

From WWE.com

“…The two workhorses did not disappoint, clashing in a dream match the likes of which even the most fervent corners of the Internet Sports-Entertainment Community didn’t think would happen for another few months. Neville’s breathtaking 450 Splash off the barricade seemingly handed him the win on a platter, though experience ultimately won out when a reeling Ziggler evaded the Red Arrow and hit the Zig Zag for the victory. Sheamus immediately spoiled the party, pulverizing Neville with one Brogue Kick and, after a vicious scrap with The Showoff outside the ring, taking Ziggler down with another…”

Just for this I will now refer to WWE as the "Sports-Entertainment Industrial Complex"

Okay, so I haven't gotten any emails about my Bray tshirt and the purchase doesn't show up on my mobile app anymore and I just got $20 refunded to my account. Come on...

"You sit there, Blitz, thinking you're safe behind your technology. Thinking you have the whole world at your beck and call. That your selfish, ill-gotten assets can purchase any petty trinket you wish. Well, I'm here to show you the fruits of your avarice. Your acquisitiveness is but a hollow symbol of the emptiness of your soul. That's right, that's right. It was ME who cancelled your transaction. It was me all along. And now you know the pain of loss, of disappointment. Your-T-shirt will never come for you, just like the man you once were will never come back. That's what I have to teach you, and at Extreme Rules, I will make damn sure my lesson will be complete."

So I learned how to do a side headlock and reverse said side headlock into a top wrist lock.

And I'm not even enrolled in the ****ing school yet :lmao:

Sweet man, I'm assuming that becoming a wrestler has been a dream of yours? What are your stats?

Even though I'm a lapsed wrestling fan (didn't watch much of the PG era), a part of me always wanted to be a wrestler, yeah. I did amateur wrestling in high school after reading Mick Foley's autobiography and lost my only two matches :lmao:

As far as my stats (I think Papa Flapjack is referring to my tale of the tape :hehe:) I'm pretty average; 5'6", 135lbs. I'm basically a supercruiserweight :funny:..but nowadays, it's not SO MUCH about how big you are, and that's encouraging. My friend (who I found out about the school through) is also going to help teach me what he knows, so I'll have a leg up somewhat on the others in the class. When he dropped me off tonight he showed me how to go from a top wrist lock to a headlock of my own, in addition to walking me through the steps of a takedown. It's such a learning curve but DUDE, I'm so excited to learn. :mrk:

Well that's an exaggeration. Screwing around isn't even close to any of the worst, truly dispicable things that people can do.

Outside of violence, cheating on a lover is very high of the list of most despicable things one person can do to another. It still inflicts pain, even if the wounds aren't visible. However, I say this as a general rule since I don't know if Seth's relationship was working or what cruelties his former girlfriend might have been inflicting on him.

Damn, hopefully it isn't too serious. :(

If this is true, it means WWE had a legitimate reason for not putting the belt back on Bryan. The I-C belt can vanish for awhile or be passed around without too much fanfare, but not so with the WWE title.

He said publicly that he was already in wrestling when they first met and that his girlfriend ended up hating the business. Guys in the industry have said that you can't work in this business if you don't love it. I'm sure the same applies to their significant others. You have to accept the fact that their living is made by being on the road the majority of the time. That's most likely why Seth hooked up with a girl that wants to be in the business. Relationships inside the wrestling are not unheard of.

Do I condone cheating...? Of course not. But they obviously had grown apart and it was time for both of them to move on. She reacted poorly to it probably because deep down she is as mad at herself as much as she was mad at him for not being able to make it work.

- Mexican wrestler Laredo Kid, without his mask, received a WWE tryout on April 7th at the tapings in Dallas, Texas. He was one of the wrestlers who worked a dark match against Los Matadores. Laredo claims WWE has offered him a deal and they will be doing medical testing soon. If all goes well, he could be in NXT as early as June.

- Part of the reason for Sin Cara and Kalisto being immediately pushed is because The Usos will be away from the tag team scene for several months with Jey Uso out of action. WWE needed a top babyface team to challenge WWE Tag Team Champions Tyson Kidd and Cesaro while The Usos are away. No word yet on what they have planned for Jimmy Uso.

- Naomi turning on Paige during Monday's WWE RAW from London was actually her being put into the spot originally planned for AJ Lee before she retired as AJ was scheduled to turn heel on Paige soon. Naomi was scheduled to turn heel a few months ago in the angle with Jimmy and The Miz but it was nixed.

WWE officials are now actively recruiting talents for the return of WWE Tough Enough on the USA Network in June. It sounds like there will be a mix of wrestlers and non-wrestlers on the show.

It's said that there are somewhat recognizable names that have been recruited for the show and WWE is in negotiations with other talents.

One European wrestler that was invited to a WWE tryout this week in London reported that the tryout was canceled a WWE wanted him to apply for Tough Enough instead. Another un-named indie wrestler has reportedly been all but promised a spot in the final cast.

WWE is reportedly working with reality show casting companies who have worked on major TV shows in the past to recruit other talents for Tough Enough, including one company that's looking at college and pro sports athletes.
