The Wrestling Thread Mustache You a Question

Metallo, you're thinking of Eric Escabar.

I'm hoping Henry costs team Celtic Rypers (work in progress name) the match at mania

Boy that Faildango/Khali segment was arguably worse than Mondays Highlight Reel. Poor Nattie. :( Its like they are TRYING to delay Fandangos in ring debut because they know how much this gimmick sucks. Unless someone pushes hard for it to go on I see this guy going the way of Vickies "new" boyfriend from a few years ago. I can't even rememeber the dudes name.

I guess we know what the Bellas might be up too. Hopefully Naomi and other a** next to Naomi go over.

Dolph finally won one tonight. Thats one good thing about Punk losing to Kane. Gave Kane some cred to do the job to Dolph. Now hopefully WWE doesn't waste Dolphs win tonight and instead uses it to further his goals.

Big T*t Langston still makes me laugh though. Him trying to be monster tough was hilarious.

Even though Layla is teasing a heel turn she and Kaitlyn are like chocolate and peanut butter: two great tastes that taste great together. Theres some dream food for thought tonight.

Dolph has gotten to win twice this week and I personally hope that means it's rebuilding time for Ziggler's credibility as an opponent.

Well Jericho jobbed to the empty talentless void known as Jack Swagger. I think we all saw that coming though. At least Jericho is doing what he said he would and is trying to put younger stars over. Swagger isn't the right guy in my opinion but at least he's trying. Jericho even got a decent match out of Swagger tonight.

Why can't WWE do for more younger talents what they did for Swagger and Dolph tonight? If they did we might be seeing a lot more stars getting more over.

Whaaaaa? Metallo you know people love getting behind losers. ;) If a guy jobs enough eventually casuals will stop caring. That's why I don't buy the you shouldn't care about wins and losers stuff. Sorry, I don't want talented people looking like crap.

I'm late but...CM Punk's DVD is one of the best I've ever seen. What he struggled against to make it to the top, and the politics dealt to him. He really is a Paul Heyman guy. It's not just a phrase.

It was funny listening to him, but he said a lot of things that we had said over the years. For example, Miz main-eventing Wrestlemania 27 instead of him...made no sense when Punk was clearly the better heel.

Definitely worth checking out. You can watch it on Netflix if you don't want to go out and buy it.

I just pick up the CM Punk Blu Ray at Wal Mart for $12.88. The Wal Mart I was at had a whole section of WWE BRs and DVDs with the prices $7.88-19.98 I think it was.

If there only was an easily accessible Wal-Mart here.

I thought he was doing ok as Brodus Clay's tag team partner. They just need to repackage him as a dancing pimp.

Yea, but then he'd be just a cheap knockoff of The Godfather, and everyone would hate it cuz we'd all rather just have Godfather back.

When it's taken to an extreme, yes, but nobody cares about an individual win or loss.

CM Punk isn't going to be less over because he's not headlining Wrestlemania, or because he's going to lose to Undertaker. He's still got a character that people like.

Yea, someone like Zack Ryder? Yea, the audience loses interest, because they know he's not going to go anywhere.

But Brock isn't going to be less over if he loses to Triple H, and he's not going to be more over if he beats Triple H. A character isn't going to be ruined if he takes a pin, instead of losing in some fluke fashion. Jeff Hardy isn't somehow less over because he pinned Edge instead of Triple H. Punk isn't somehow less over because Cena finally beat him. And Cena isn't somehow more over because he finally beat Punk. Daniel Bryan didn't get less over because he lost to Sheamus in 18 seconds (and if you recall, I said that loss would get him more over because it was gold storyline material to work with.)

Is Fandango a terrible wrestler or is he another one of those good / decent workers stuck with a terrible gimmick?

World Title Preference

Winged Eagle > Big Gold > Gold Eagle > Smoking Skull > PRIDE > Undisputed > Spinner

I saw it a week ago I loved it too. It's definitely one of the best docs WWE has done as it was one of the most honest. That promo he did really did change everything and honestly, I still think we're still feeling the effect. I think CM Punk will get another championship push, but it's a matter of when rather than if.

As for the belts. I think people are too harsh on the spinner belt too. I think for it's era, it was a good custom title for John Cena. The problem was that it went too long.

I don't think any of the world titles are that bad actually. Be glad they didn't F it up like the did the tag titles or the divas title.

Damn, Vader was responsible for so any brutal injuries to wrestlers. Didn't he also powerbomb someone and they became handicapped?

I just think Brock is in a better position to help guys if he's winning matches. it might not harm Lesnar to lose to Triple H, but it sure doesn't help anyone and it doesn't give me anything I want. The big matches at WrestleMania this year are okay, but nothing I'm excited about.

I think the bind that creative was in this year was that two matches had to happen again. Triple H v. Brock was built up from last year. Rock vs. Cena was also built up from last year. With Punk vs. Undertaker, I think that just came down to no one else being able to face the Undertaker, except for Cena, but they just would have rather wanted him with Rock instead of Punk.

I just hope after Wrestlemania they calm down with the whole part timers thing because it really doesn't help them long term.

And at Wrestlemania 30, give us Cena vs. Punk as the main event.

I'm re-watching my nWo dvd and I wish WWE would do more tag team/stables ones,I'd love to see some Mega Powers/Demolition/Nation of Domination/New Age Outlaws/Corporation/Ministry of Darkness/Brothers of Destruction/Evolution dvds.

A"Random But Powerful Tag-Teams"dvd would be great too like..Mankind&Kane/Mankind&The Rock/Triple H&Stone Cold/Kane&RVD/Kane&Big Show/Big Show&Chris Jericho/Big Show&The Miz/Edge&Randy Orton.

Oh and an LWO one would be great too lol.

Same here, but WWE needs to get organized first, starting with creative.

In my WWE 12 copy, I did an Asian invasion storyline where a bunch of Japanese (and some of other asian countries) wrestlers took over the WWE and replaced Smackdowm with NJPW. Would be cool to have something like an Asian or latino (as you said Luis) stable taking over.

If the asian stable has a female member then it has to be Kana.

In WWE 13's story creator I turned Rey Mysterio heel and he made another dedication to Eddie by bringing back LWO and making it LWO 2013 with Sin Cara/ADR&Hunico,They had matching Green/White&Red attires and Rey won the US title while ADR won the IC titlr and Sin Cara&Hunico became tag champions at the same time,They dominated the mid cards for 7 months in my Universe Mode..Until I made nWo 2013 with Kevin Nash/Punk&Thugonomics Cena and had them take out LWO at Survivor Series(Nash vs Sin Cara&Hunico and Cena&Punk vs Rey&ADR).

Keep them away from each other all year long. Turn Punk face halfway through the year to face Lesnar at SummerSlam. In the meantime, they could have Ryback feud with a heel Cena.

The push of Daniel Bryan, and even Shield is likely an effect of the "Pipebomb".

I love that the documentary highlighted that Pipebomb gave Punk plenty of attention. ESPN, GQ, various radio stations, other areas...the man became an instant star.

The Pipebomb gave WWE what Vince craved: mainstream attention, and it didn't require a part-time wrestler/full-time Hollywood star like the Rock. All it took was a talented wrestler with an amazing ability to speak, and good booking. Bam! They got it.

The new belt isn't bad, it's just underwhelming. Especially with the decision to make it in the vein of the spinner belt instead of the classic championship belts that had great designs.

Cena/Rock II is the only rematch that needed to happen, and even they could've put them on the Summerslam card, or the Royal Rumble instead of Wrestlemania. Or they could've just dismissed having the rematch and did something different, like Rock vs Punk at Mania with Punk winning. That could've added a layer to the Cena/Punk feud: Punk able to beat the man Cena couldn't.

Triple H/Lesnar II on the other hand...didn't need a rematch at all. No one was really asking for it. This is about Triple H getting a win to balance the scales between them.

This, but I would turn ryback heel (pair him up with a manager ,heck maybe even Heyman so ge gets some reaction) and keep Cena face.
