The Wrestling Thread: Oh Mah Goodness...Part 33

The vote of no confidence doesn't mean no one would work their dates for at least two weeks, otherwise they'd be sued. It's easy to say they are working the show tonight as a decision regarding Triple H will be made on Monday, as long as they meet their obligations.

Mark Henry being involved is funny though since he's one of the main aspects of the WWE being an unsafe working environment. :D

As for Punk vs Austin, if they are on the same team at Survivor Series have them be the last two left in the celebration, have Austin throw Punk a beer and he wont drink it, so Austin stuns him, thus it starts.

Agreed about the stars working SD, doesn't ruin the angle, just means they don't want to be fired or sued for not showing up while they wait to see what happens to Triple H.

I love your idea for Punk and Austin if they end up going with that feud.

Del Rio saying specificly that Smackdown stars won't return to RAW unless Triple H is removed doesn't make sense to me. Does that mean they would still work Smackdown shows?

Yeah, just last week triple h was on smackdown. Doesn't make sense. .

Guess they feel they can only do this story on RAW, which is just bad booking. But they weren't going to resolve this on SD, so we get this ****poor booking.

If Taker returns... he should return heel and align with Anti-WWE.

I'd love to see Undertaker as a heel again, but they tried doing that in 2004 and it totally backfired. Like Triple H, the fans respect Undertaker too much to boo him out of loyalty.

- William Regal wrote the following on Twitter last night regarding Triple H and the RAW walkout:

"Some people have asked about the walkout on Raw.My personal reasons for my action was that I think HHH has enough on his plate being the COO.I know exactly what it takes to be in charge of Raw and it comes at a dear price(or it did with me).HHH is in charge of the WWE.He needs to concentrate on the company as a whole and put a suitable candidate in charge of the Raw brand.

Although we haven't had much to do with each other(apart from the odd scuffle)18 years ago myself and HHH where very close. We choose separate paths but my heart went out to him last night as for whatever has happened in our respective lives,we where once friends.

I don't agree with the superstars on any of there reasons for walking out on HHH.I just want him to share some of his burden. And I hope this message gets to him and he respects my view."

- Rey Mysterio, who is walking on crutches, posted the following video on YouTube last night after a therapy session at his home. Rey talks about his recent surgeries, shows off his scars and reveals that he will be getting some new tattoos next week.

- As noted before, Hulk Hogan has re-signed with TNA. This means that Eric Bischoff will also be sticking around.

- Hogan is in Los Angeles this week filming new commercials for Rent-A-Center with NFL Legend Troy Aikman.

- After originally changing the Sting vs. Hulk Hogan singles match at Bound For Glory, TNA was planning on doing a three-way with Sting, Hogan and Ric Flair. Flair ended up injured and they went back to the Sting vs. Hogan match with a No DQ stipulation. Officials were hoping that adding Flair to the match would help with any problems that Hogan might have.

Taken from youtube , this had me chuckling :
"The crowd has just booed the entire WWE roster, cameramen and announcers and are cheering for HHH. He finally did it. He buried the entire roster all at once. This is truly HHH's finest hour."

WWE's Choice for the New Face of SmackDown, Early WrestleMania 28 Plans

By Marc Middleton
Oct 5, 2011 - 5:33:36 AM

- Sources report that WWE officials are looking at Sheamus to be the next big star for the SmackDown brand and will be pushing him as a major player going into WrestleMania 28. The idea is that Mark Henry, Randy Orton and Sheamus will be the cornerstones of the blue brand.

Vince McMahon has always been a fan of Sheamus but has taken more of a liking to him as of late.

Regarding early ideas for WrestleMania 28 next year, that will likely change several times, Sheamus challenging Henry for the World Heavyweight Title is penciled in.

CM Punk Expected to Carry the WWE Title Into 2012, John Laurinaitis Update

By Marc Middleton
Oct 5, 2011 - 5:28:00 AM

- WWE has added John Laurinaitis to the RAW roster page. He was previously listed on the Alumni section.

- As noted before, CM Punk is scheduled to feud with WWE Champion Alberto Del Rio for the next few WWE pay-per-views and the company is getting ready to go "full blown" with his push after being surprised by recent merchandise numbers.

There has been a lot of talk that Punk will win the WWE Title in late 2011 or early 2012 and carry it into WrestleMania 28.

WWE officials do not want the WWE Title to be a part of John Cena and The Rock's match at WrestleMania.

New Move for Phoenix and Natalya, WWE NOC DVD Bonus Content, RAW Update

By Marc Middleton
Oct 5, 2011 - 5:16:45 AM

- WWEDVDNews reports that the Blu-ray version of WWE's 2011 Night of Champions pay-per-view looks to be exclusive to Europe. The DVD will be released in North America on October 18th and the DVD/Blu-ray versions will hit Europe some time in December. DVD and Blu-ray special features are as follows:

DVD Special Feature
* Triple H and CM Punk's contract signing from the August 30th episode of Friday Night SmackDown.

Blu-ray Exclusive Content
* September 12th RAW: Alberto Del Rio was disrespected, John Morrison & Alex Riley vs. Jack Swagger & Dolph Ziggler, Kelly Kelly vs. Vickie Guerrero, John Cena & Bret Hart vs. Ricardo Rodriguez & Alberto Del Rio, Triple H and CM Punk exchange words.

* September 16th SmackDown: Sheamus & Justin Gabriel vs. Christian & Wade Barrett, The Cutting Edge.

- Stan sent word that Monday's RAW Supershow had 36 minutes and 2 seconds of in-ring action, up from the previous week.

- Natalya wrote on Twitter that she and Beth Phoenix will be debuting a new double team move soon called The Drop of Doom, where they drop a Diva on her face from high in the air.

did anyone expect the fans to boo hhh lol

hhh has a specific connection with the crowd that only hbk and taker can rival

he has a bult in 15 years worth of fanbase it is near impossible to crumble

unless hhh is a heel he will always be cheered

U got to be kidding me

Hulk Hogan has renewed his contract with TNA Wrestling, according to a company source. Specifics of the agreement were not disclosed, though company officials wanted the deal finalized prior to his scheduled match at Bound for Glory.

I actually like Sheamus more as a face than as a heel.

also, glad to hear that they plan to keep Cena out of the title picture ( at least leading up to his match with the Rock ) and push Punk instead.

"Full blown" push for Punk, eh? Sounds great.

I think as long as Teddy Long is in power, the WWE stars will work the Smackdown shows.

Sounds like they developed this to end Kelly Kelly's career in a botch maneuver.

I wonder what's going on with these blu ray releases. It's really disappointing they didn't do one for Money in the Bank .

its safe to say that if he wasn't injured, Rey Mysterio would have been one of those "protected" by the WWE from the walkout on Monday.

Full spoilers:

Teddy Long and Zack Ryder opened the show. Long said the problems on Raw will benefit Smackdown.

* Christian, Wade Barrett, David Otunga, WWE Intercontinental Champion Cody Rhodes, WWE United States Champion Dolph Ziggler, Jack Swagger and Vickie Guerrero all said they would be boycotting all WWE events until Triple H stepped down as COO of WWE. They said it was an unsafe work environment.

* WWE Champion Alberto Del Rio def. Sin Cara. Sin Cara II attacked Sin Cara after the match.

* WWE Tag Team Champions Kofi Kingston and Evan Bourne said they would only be appearing on Smackdown until Triple H resigns.

* WWE United States Champion Dolph Ziggler and Jack Swagger def. WWE Tag Team Champions Kofi Kingston and Evan Bourne in a non-title match.

* WWE Divas Champion Beth Phoenix def. Alicia Fox.

* Big Show returned and wanted a match with Mark Henry. Henry said Big Show hasn't done anything to deserve a title shot.

* Randy Orton said he didn't join the roster on Monday night during the "vote of confidence" for Triple H because he would deal with his problems with Triple H personally.

* They shot another promo with Big Show and Mark Henry, except this time Big Show only challenged Henry to a match and not a title match.

* Ezekiel Jackson def. Jinder Mahal.

* John Laurinaitis tried to get Teddy Long on his side if there is a power struggle in WWE.

* Randy Orton and Sheamus def. Christian and WWE Intercontinental Champion Cody Rhodes.

I think as long as Teddy Long is in power, the WWE stars will work the Smackdown shows.

Long is the GM but Triple H has final say over everything. There is no logic in that at all.

Expecting logic from the WWE is like expecting Hollywood movie studios to come up with something that is actually original and not a remake, based off a TV series, book, song, magazine article or comic book.

I get that, but this episode of Smackdown sounds like it craps on the walkout angle.

Maybe the WWE Superstars see Teddy Long as someone they can trust, unlike Triple H. He does do a good job of putting members of the roster in tag matches and matches against the Undertaker.

Jesus...between this and the Raw Supershow (but no Smackdown supershow) they WONDER why Smackdown is viewed as the B show?

My problem with their thinking on the Supershow is this: If people can see their favorite Smackdown AND Raw stars on Raw why even bother to catch Smackdown?

If Raw stars showed up more on Smackdown it would help that show a lot.

And the Triple H situation should affect both shows...not just Raw. Even if the bulk of the storyline does happen on Raw Smackdown should at least acknowledge how it affects them and not do anything to contradict it.

Smackdowns treatment lately basically says nothing on there matters.

The only reason Smackdown was used this week was so that it can be used to bring the Big Show back.
