PRE-WRESTLEMANIA 28 BREAKDOWN
It all started out good. It looked like it might be the first Wrestlemania I buy in years.
Jericho vs Punk - GOOD
Rock vs Cena - GREAT
HELL IN A CELL: Undertaker vs HHH w/HBK as special ref - AWESOME
and...
and...
and???
Big Show vs Rhodes - of the rest of the card, this is probably the most intriguing match-up. It's a match that probably works on any Wrestlemania card despite the big size differential, which is an aspect I am not a fan of.
Sheamus vs Bryan - I hate big man vs little man match-ups, in most cases, and this being for the World Championship makes it all the more off-putting to me.
Orton vs Kane - couple problems with this match. One, we just saw Kane get brushed aside by Super-Cena, now we have to see him pushed aside by Super-Orton? Two, we all know who is going to win.
Team Laurenaitis vs Team Long - seeing as how this match is likely the one depriving me of my 10 match dream card for this Wrestlemania, I have to hate it. That said, it could have been better if it was an elimination match... but they're not doing that either. I really wish they'd have done something like a 3v3 match with: Teddy Long and two wrestlers vs Johnny L and two wrestlers and maybe make that an elimination match.
Divas Match - No Natalya, No Karma... no further comment.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
This is a good card, maybe real good, but not even close to best ever. That could change depending on the matches, but I doubt it will. Most WWE PPV's are 8 matches over 3 hours with too much filler, this is 8 matches over 4 hours. The filler will be unbearable for me. How many Cena/Rock promos are there going to be?
All they had to do was make the Team vs Team match a 3v3, add MITB, and add a solid grudge match. And oh yeah, replace Daniel Bryan with Mark Henry in the World Championship match via a Henry win at Elimination Chamber.
It was that close to being a card I'd recommend to anyone. Now, I'm probably not going to buy it.
Then again, those top three matches are damn compelling.
