Of the entire family, he seems the most sound one. It just seems a shame that he won't be around, but I wish him well.

I respect Shane for basically being the only McMahon to step completely out from the family business in the last...70 + years?

He seems like he's trying to be his own man and make his own path in the world instead of inheriting it. The only bad part is he seems to have a better feel for the business than ANY blood McMahon. They could really use him behind the scenes right now.

Vince has lost touch and I don't think Stephanie REALLY gets it. Shane has a mind for business and creative. Shane's also by far the best overall performer and closest to being one of the boys even though Vince specifically does the "character" part better. Shane's thinking is more modern though.

I agree.

Whats up with the music? Didn't WWE pay for the Hendrix song on the DVD like they didn't pay for the Johnny Cash song on the dvd of last years Mania?

He wasn't using the Hendrix song at that moment, but rather the nWo one. For some reason that theme was always dubbed over, be it DVD's or video games with the one used in that video.

They probably leased the rights to Voodoo Child for a certain amount of time. I'm positive Hogan used Voodoo Child as a face during his WWE run but now they always dub it over with Real American during Hogans face run in 2002-03.

It tends to happen with a lot of music from well known musicians. They've been dubbing over Takers "Rollin" theme with his "Ministry" theme for a while.

It's extremely weird, lol. It's like watching Hogan coming out to CAW music in a game or something.

Yeah, he started using Voodoo Child when he went back to the Red and Yellow attire after WMX8 when he turned face.

Lol, I remember the Backlash 2002 DVD dubbing over Rollin' with some generic rock/promo music, but I've never come across any other instances when it's been dubbed with his Ministry theme. Seeing American Badass Undertaker with his Ministry theme just sounds...odd.

I'm always disappointed that Ricky Steamboats Sirius theme is dubbed over by some newer WWE produced music. Its not bad but it so odd to hear different music.

Was watching some WWE dvd a few months back with WCW material and it really annoys me that they kept Jim Ross's commentary in but removed Jesse Venturas. Probably so they wouldn't have to pay him for it. There are huge spaces of dead air on commentary.

What makes it even worse is that you can SEE Jesse sitting right at ringside at the announce table.

They do it on the newer dvd sets. I think they may have done it on the Wrestlemania anthology box sets. Hell they may have dubbed over "American Badass" too.

Watching old matches when they were 'WWF' that have been re-edited/restored with the 'WWE' makeover treatment just ruins the experince of watching them for me, as I keep recalling the moments (i.e. of dialogue, commentary, etc.) of the previous 'WWF' versions.

The WWE will not allow that to happen. Knowing the WWE, they will say that JR has Anal bleeding or rectal issues that prevent him from ever announcing with the WWE.

Why JR doesn't just quit and go to TNA is beyond me. What a bunch of idiots.

Why doesn't JR go to TNA? Because it's TNA.

By saying blood McMahon, I'm sure that means you think Triple H understands the business more than his in-laws?

I think he does. He seems have good ideas. There was a report last year that he wants to give more focus to tag team wrestling. I'm not sure why it's not happening, if it's his doing or Vince's. But since apparently Triple H is becoming the de-facto Vince, I hope it will.

Jericho is a prime example of the point many of us are trying to make.

Right now Jericho is as talented as anybody in the business. Nobody can deny the fact that he's over. But he's never reached the absolute peak of his potential. Why? Because he's been booked like a loser so much.

The losses don't really HURT him at this point but they also don't HELP him ascend to a higher level of popularity

Who knows how being Triple H's whipping boy for the last ten years held him back. He wouldn't be the face of the company but he could have been closer to Triple H's level. He's just as good on the mic and in the ring and unlike Triple he's gotten better with age in the ring not worse.

When Jericho feuded with Michaels in 08 Jericho HAD to pick up some wins in the end. Beating Michaels in a ladder match of all matches was a HUGE deal as far as making him look good. Its no coincidence that THAT particular feud is considered to be one of the best of Jericho's career. It was competitive not once sided.

Triple H said it himself he's HAD to win (to stay relevant) Triple H is talented but not talented enough to the point that wins and losses are always meaningless. He knows they matter otherwise he wouldn't be so obsessed with it. The only guy more obsessed with looking strong and winning is Hogan.

When you look at Jericho's first title run sabotage is too light a word, basically every match was the result of multiple run-ins, not one guy put him over clean and by Mania he was Steph's dog walker and the feud wasn't even between him and Triple H.

The feud with HBK came 6 years later and Jericho no longer could be what he might have been with the right booking, but he got over as an equal to HBK, only to subsequenbtly jobbed out numerous times to Batista and Cena which killed the momentum his feud with HBK had created.

On Sunday, but they hit the net on Mondays.

Cool, I want to check out Husky's new gimmick. I watched last week and Hero's debut was a stinker.

On another note to everyone, just looking at our discussions I gotta say...wrestling is quite the complex beast, isn't it? :D

All of this talking about what makes a star, guys getting over, wins and losses...a lot of thinking goes into making it work. It really doesn't get the respect it deserves.

Agreed, it's an art form that takes a unique blend to get right, but sadly it will never truly be respected except by other athletes.

-- A photo of Mickie James kicking Gail Kim at TNA Genesis is featured on the cover of the newsstand magazine Inside Wrestling. The magazine levies criticism towards TNA having the Knockouts Division revolve around Mickie James and Gail Kim as the headline reads: "Has The Knockouts Division Become The Mickie-Gail Show? It's Time To Open Things Up - BFG Style!"http://www.wrestlezone.com/news/251947-report-wwe-cracking-down-live-event-footage-posted-by-fans

BFG style? they want a never ending tournemant set up for the Knockouts? The big problem is lack of depth, Mickie, Kim and Tara are a cut above the rest.

Trips is the man. Ever since he took charge of talent development FCW has been impoving steadly.

Nice, would love to see rock/brock. I think taker/brock is more likely though. Unless he retires.

So the rest of the guys can bust their ass to carry the company for the next 10 months and then two guys that aren't even part timers step into the spotlight and payday for Mania? No thanks.

Yeah Hunter, Hero's debut match was awful, but I enjoyed the 15 championship match between Claudio and Richie Steamboat.

Man, mixed reactions to this. It'd be awesome but it's almost 10 years too late for it.

Funny thing is it did happen 10 years ago at summerslam.

I think both now are at completely different points in their careers which would make it that more special.

Ugh...I just couldn't stand the run-in/lead up and then the main event to WMX8. It just became the Trips and Stephanie show. :down

Yeah, there is a lot more to is than it was then. Could prove to be an epic tale behind all of it (even though I couldn't give a **** about Rocky right now). But if Brock never returns, I won't shed any tears.

I still get a little angry watching Brock matches because he was the next huge star in my opinion.

Brock was nearly everything Vince wanted out of WWE Superstar. I bet he shed tears when Brock quit.

I know. :D

I saw the match live. Great PPV too.

But I think the time for the rematch has passed. The nostalgia acts should be to make the current generation stronger, not re-live previous ones for fleeting moments.

Brock vs. Rock II wouldn't be something I want to see. I rather see Rock/Cena II and Brock face someone else.

Lucky man. That is the greatest non WrestleMania PPV in WWE history.
