My 2 Cents,I think the problem with Cena is that he's corny.I think the day after he won his first WWE title. He got corny, and over the years it got worst and worst. It all started with the Deez Nuts line then came The Rap Album,Then he stopped rapping period, and became what alot of people don't want and that's Hulk Hogan part II.It just doesn't work in this era.
Instead of WWE trying to fix the problem and tweak his character,They ignore it and he gets shoved down people's throats.I can mentally hear Vince saying"Like him Dammit,He's gonna Puke"(I just alway hear Vince saying He's gonna Puke)
A character alteration worked well for The Rock so I think it could have done wonders for Cena.I'm not saying turn him heel.I just think they should have let him keep some of his edge.
That's the thing though, everyone is looking to be Wolverine or Batman these days, but is it wrong to have Captain America and Superman? I'm meaning in personality as opposed to match booking.
The Attitude era fostered this notion that to be over you have to be a wiseass trash talker and badass, with a cynical and cocky outlook, this is why the WWE is now full of chicken**** heels, because Vince is worried that if they book a badass heel the fans will cheer him because it's "Cool".

Great stuff, wish we could have seen it as well.
That would be a hell of a surprise. Either Ziggler or Cody Rhodes could also really benefit. I can just imagine Rock making fun of Vickie Guerrero. I'm surprised that hasn't happened yet. Also there's a built in feud with Punk
Something tells me that Punk vs Rock is not gonna happen, it's two faces who are not different enough in the fanbase demographic for Vince to want to book it IMO, plus I wouldn't be surprised if Rock worked someone just a notch below who he would beat but get over at the same time, Ziggler would be ideal since Rock's "Humour" will get a full run out on poor Vickie.
I agree with that, my original bit to you was simply that characters such as the undertaker, mankind, kane etc... are clearly not just the person ramped up to 11 and have been successful (obviously not as much as the ones you mentioned)
With Taker, Kane and Hogan that is true because they are comic book characters in the purest sense, Mankind I disagree with because when he got really over was after his real life story and personality came through, I mean fans chanted Foley not Mankined or Cactus. The thing was when we started this Cena was the focus and since Cena is a regular guy in presentation I see him more like Austin or HBK in needing to play an extended version of himself, rather than go into being something devoid of who he is.
oh and on the whole Undertaker thing - never really cared for him tbh, even as a kid I thought the whole deadman thing was stupid.... now Biker Taker, I did like him
I feel the same way, respect the man immensely but was never a fan.
I'm just gonna say - Hunter was sure to mention to me how I took a dig at Metallo, but I'm curious to see if hell remain consistent and impartial and do the same for Metallo calling me a ***** and calling my opinion "******ed", along with making inferences about me having a lesser opinion... "someone like you"
Anyways, i get that wrestlers are themselves ramped up to 11, but they are also fictional creations as well that are fundamentally different from the real person. Both things can be true.
Well I guess you're never gonna know now are you? Y'see calling me out like that means my position becomes inpossible, I don't jump when you tell me to or try to score points off me because you don't like me. If you'd waited until I came back to this thread you'd have gotten your answer, trying to be a wiseass means now you'll never know.
For the record though, I wasn't modding you on the previous post, I was saying make a post on the discussion not
just the poster, because the latter is cowardly.
