They're Coming

^ That picture alone makes me want to check all the locks in my home.

If Tazz does leave TNA I hope to God Don West makes a return.

I think Brie w/ Bryan is a good thing. I think it will add to his new character. And as I've seen a few comparisons for him in here lately, he always reminded me of a modern day Owen Hart. Now THERE is a fantasy match I'd have loved to see Owen vs Bryan wow.

I'm betting on the Wyatt's showing at Summer Slam. Though, I hope they appear on Raw before that.

I've been thinking of him a lot lately as a modern Owen Hart, as well. Owen was one of my favorites, so that is a huge compliment (and no, I am not one of those people that automatically becomes a huge fan of someone after they die; I went to a house show a month or two before he died dressed as the Blue Blazer).

In addition to ring work, the whole "weak link" thing reminds me of Owen when he was the only one of the Harts to get eliminated at Survivor Series that time, then being the "Sole Survivor," then off course the "I am not a nugget" phase.

I'm curious how much of a push The Wyatt's are going to initially get...? Are they going to get a Shield like push to the moon? If they're going to enter the tag scene, surely they will end up feuding with the Shield and they'll have to turn face, right?

- WWE head writer David Kreizman was talked into staying until mid-August because his original direction of things were building to SummerSlam and they wanted him to stay until the completion of his direction. Plus, WWE wants him to help train whoever they hire as his replacement. There was a feeling that the new writer would have problems with the pressure building to SummerSlam, whereas now he can ease into the role, get comfortable from September through December before the WrestleMania season pressure starts.

Regarding the creative situation, Stephanie McMahon’s role has been minimized as she’s only involved when needed. Brian James has been put into creative because they want someone who has a pro wrestling perspective to be in with the soap opera and TV writers because Michael Hayes isn’t in the office regularly anymore. Hayes is on conference via phone at major meetings but they want a wrestling person at the meetings as well.

When it comes to the re-writes on Mondays and Tuesdays, David Kapoor (Ranjin Singh) has been in charge of those but his position has changed. Kapoor delegates the workload to the writers after Vince McMahon makes all the changes. He also interacts with TV people, the App people and the WWE.com people to make sure they all know of the changes.

Ed Koskey is now the lead writer for RAW while Ryan Ward, who got rave reviews for his work as NXT’s writer, has been promoted to the lead writer on Smackdown.

I wonder which person Shawn and Vince were talking about in the referenced conversation....My money is on Daniel Bryan or Dolph Ziggler:

During a recent interview with the Ministry Of Slam wrestling radio show, Michaels noted a recent exchange between WWE head honcho, Vince McMahon and himself. Going further, “The Showstopper” talks his awareness of not having the typical frame of what is considered a main event talent in WWE.

“I had a conversation a couple of weeks ago with the man in charge”, Michaels stated, “and we were talking about a certain individual and he goes, ‘I just don’t see money in him.’ And I said, ‘You said the same thing about me.’ He said, ‘I did not.’ I said, ‘Yes you did!’ (laughs) I said, ‘And it’s okay. It’s just one of those things.’”

“I wasn’t your prototypical – heck, I wasn’t anybody’s prototypical main event guy, and I knew that. So, you just do your absolute best. Yes, I was very scared and very worried, which had a lot to do with how bad I handled stuff. I spent a great deal of my career waiting for the other shoe to drop, because it was a very real view of me and my ability and talent. I’m a firm believer that talent does rise to the top, but you have to be patient. So, I spent a great deal of time worried, intimidated, and concerned that with each passing storyline, it might be the last one.”

To be honest, I don't see them being hotshotted to the top the same way the Shield was. Mainly because it would be too similar, too soon.

I can see the Wyatts being mid-carders for a while, to see how they catch on with the general audience first. I see them more as being like Raven's Flock or the Acolytes for a while, maybe even a full year, and don't really see them going after John Cena unless temporarily "hired" to do so by a high-card heel.

Most likely Bryan

No, unfortunately OTA and I were not good enough to joint the League Of Shadows. We belong to the League Of Mild Water Damage.

I kind of had a minor issue with learning to use a sword. Knocked over a candle. Ended up setting Ra's' summer home on fire. Not exactly one of my proudest moments.

Wait, that was you who did that?!

I left half a beer in his fridge! I'll never get that back ever again! You're dead to me, man. Dead!

i bet the mystery person is christian, lol

When did Bryan and Bella start dating? I remembered a segment where Daniel had to separate Gail Kim (his kaybe gf at the time) from the Bellas for coming onto him. Funny how things turn out.

Shawm shouldn't have to talk to Vince about this. How many times does that old fart need to be proven wrong before he lets go of his dated mentality?

And he's back...

Welcome back Antman!

Now we just have to await the anticipated return of Metallo. :D

My random thought for the day...

Randy Orton is extremely underrated, IMO. I love his ring work. I really started thinking about this the other day while watching his match with Bryan. Just recently I have noticed how over he is with certain crowds, too. I'm really surprised he hasn't become a bigger name/star than he has. I think his work in the ring is far better than some of the much bigger stars (I'm looking right at you, Triple-H).

Time and time again....Vince never learns from his mistakes. No matter how much evidence there is against his mentality....Macho Man, Edge, CM Punk, Bret Hart, Shawn Michaels, Chris Jericho, Eddie Guerrero, Rey Mysterio and Mick Foley are ALL names that should be stuck in Vince's head when he has these type of thoughts about what a main eventer "should" look like.

With that said, Shawn's interview proves that Mcmahon has a selective memory considering that Shawn reminded him of how he once felt about him.

He is a great worker, but lets not forget he was given every oportunity to become the top star (behing Cena) and twice he threw it away due to suspensions relating to PEDs and ''unprofessional behaviour''.He only has himself to blame for the position that he is in.

I've always liked Orton, but with shoddy booking and how they fed him to Cena in their feud that went to long in 09 it started a downward trend for him. hi run as a babyface just hasn't worked for him and he knows it. Orton like everyone else knows he's better off as a heel.

- As noted, the June 24th WWE RAW did a 2.89 cable rating with 3.98 million viewers.

In the segment breakdown, the opener with Daniel Bryan and Randy Orton did a 2.82 quarter rating, which is very weak. Sheamus and Christian vs. Damien Sandow and Cody Rhodes plus Kaitlyn vs. Aksana lost 124,000 viewers. The promo with AJ Lee making fun of Kaitlyn, a replay of the Mark Henry and John Cena angle plus a Wyatt Family vignette lost 198,000 viewers for a show-low 2.59 quarter rating.

Chris Jericho vs. Alberto Del Rio gained 333,000 viewers. The post-match happenings and the reveal of the WWE 2K14 cover at 9pm drew 361,000 viewers for a 3.10 quarter rating. Ryback vs. The Great Khali lost 217,000 viewers. John Cena's interview gained 235,000 viewers. Tensai and Brodus Clay vs. The Usos vs. 3MB and the beginning of Paul Heyman's interview gained 19,000 viewers. The segment with Heyman and CM Punk gained 117,000 viewers at 10pm for a show-high 3.21 quarter rating. Punk vs. Darren Young and the post-match happenings lost 598,000 viewers.

Stephanie McMahon announcing Money in the Bank participants plus backstage segment with Chris Jericho and Ryback plus Heyman and Punk gained 136,000 viewers. The Orton vs. Bryan street fight gained 104,000 viewers - one of the lowest main event gains of the whole year, finishing at a 2.92 overrun.

- Here are some WWE business notes for May 2013:

* The average live event attendance was 4,438 paid per show, up 9.9% from May 2012

* WWE shipped 305,000 DVD units in May, up from 301,000 in 2012

* WWE.com did 13.5 million unique visitors last month, the same as May 2012

* WWE's shop website took 613 orders per day last month, the same as May 2012

- Regarding the quality of WWE TV in recent weeks and how it pertains to the writers, word is that it's not The McMahons nor the writers that should be credited, but a lot of good luck. A source says that the Mark Henry retirement ruse, as it was scripted, was good but far from the great segment it turned out to be. Henry took the segment in a direction that wasn't planned and one that nobody saw coming.

- The June 24th RAW, for the first time in weeks had minimal changes from how the show was presented on June 21st, last Friday, when scripts were finalized. John Cena and CM Punk had already gone through and approved their segments before the final script was presented.

- Independent wrestler Ricky Marvin is trying to get a deal with WWE.

- One of the reasons WWE has brought in so many top independent wrestlers is because agent Jamie Noble keeps up with that scene and he's the one who recommends the talents to WWE.

- Former WWE and TNA star Brandon Sylvestry (Low Ki/Senshi) has been telling promoters that he's retired from wrestling. Apparently he's moved on to voice-over work. He had been in talks with All Japan Pro Wrestling but had asked for a huge guarantee. He has said that he would be open to coming back for the right program with a major company but not unless it's something major.
