If anything, he's gotten worse.

I actually thought he was okay back before he became Michael "vintage"Cole. It was fine when it was only said when Undertaker walked the top rope, but soon everything became "vintage".

He was never loved here. I think the first time people responded to him positively was when JBL would repeatedly rip into him week after week.

I imagine Cena and his wife are probably going to divorce at some point, given his Vince-like drive to his WWE career.

That was my first thought. The guy really needs to take some time off but that's not happening anytime soon.

I have to be serious here, I've been watching the WWE since the late 90's but never once was I bothered by Cole and it seemed like the IWC never had an issue with him either. It wasn't until he got drafted to Raw in summer of 2008. Vince wanted him to become more colorful by delivering him some ridiculous lines and eventually utilized the negative reception that he received. Too bad Bobby Heenan can't teach these jabronies a thing or two about commentating.

I thought he was ok on Smackdown. That vintage line was the begining of the end when he forget it's meaning. I wouldn't mind Cole if they just had him doing play by play , he's no color commentator.

Yeah, Cole was fine before he tried to be a heel. He was boring, but I preferred boring to this.

He is the worst thing about the program right now, and the worst heel I've ever seen. You don't love to hate him, you just hate him. He ruins shows with his constant screeching about absolutely nothing. He damages matches, he damages wrestlers, and inexplicably the brass continues to say "Hey, let's do a Michael Cole segment."

Nobody wants to see a Michael Cole segment! Ever!

Yeah really. I haven't been watching wrestling in a while but I wanted to jump through the television when he was cutting a promo about how crappy that Daniel Bryan guy was. I'm thinking, "When did Michael Cole have any power to do that? Why doesn't this Bryan guy just punch him in the face?"

And also...when he's on RAW he makes some dumb comments to Lawler and it's got to SUCK to be Jerry because I get the feeling that he wants to smack Cole in his stupid face but can't because he wants to keep his job.

But at the time could you blame JBL? IIRC It's was mostly because he was rooting for the Miz when he first started wrestling.

The earliest I remember of Cole was when DX did an atomic wedgie on him, this was back when it was Triple H, HBK, and Chyna.

Haha. I remember that...they really gave him a brutal wedgie! :awesome:

I'm watching the Best of King of the Ring on blu ray. It's good so far. King Booka hosts. Only downside is they don't go into the history too much. They show the coronations though

The first King of the Ring PPV is the first wrestling show I bought on VHS. Watched it many many times as a kid.

I still have my Wrestlemania XX on VHS (I recorded it as I was watching it on PPV)

I'm sure it's worth something. :o

I'd actually never seen it until now. We had a local video store that had several wwf and wcw tapes. I used to love renting those. Later on my cousin started taping the ppvs for me but I never kept them , huge mistake.

I saw the vhs for In your house : Final Four on amazon is selling for about 50.00. Luckily there's other methods of getting some of this stuff but it's tedious and not everything is available.

James Storm beat Angle clean tonight. TNA are really building Storm up as a top guy. Bobby Roode and James Storm ARE TNA.

I haven't watched much of TNA recently, but the last time I really watched it, I thought James Storm made for a good cool and charismatic babyface.

Yeah. Michael Cole (the person, not the character) isn't necessarily a bad guy but it's unfortunate how Vince McMahon is portraying him on television. Michael Cole is like the outcast that no one ever cared for until the popular kids allowed him to join their group just so he could provide the lulz and so they could have him do their dirty work. He's nothing more than a pet to Vince McMahon, Triple H and Brian Gerwitz. They know he would do anything to keep his job and you bet your ass they're going to take advantage of that. They probably laugh like a flock of school girls on a weekly basis with the stuff that they feed him during the live broadcasts. When you think about it, regardless of his push it's not necessarily something to be proud of.

And yeah, he was pretty much a watered down version of what Vince McMahon used to be (before turning heel). Neither liked or hated, no gimmick, trying to act unbiased, etc. No matter what nobody compares to Bobby Heenan or Jesse Ventura.

WWE needs a new play by play guy. Move Cole to color commentary and bring in a guy who can deal with Cole and call matches. Lawler has been phoning it in anyway. Josh Matthews ain't gonna cut it, because Cole needs someone to play off of to be a successful heel commentator. Scott Stanford is underrated, maybe give him a shot? He sounds better than Matthews, whose voice is soft and boyish.

Ehh...I think you are giving Cole way too much credit. As a face, he was invisible. Now, he gives out a lot of forced heel comments.

The only two memorable Cole moments I can think of are a) his awful, entirely-too-long match at WM and b) his funny expressions when Lawler had him pinned by the tie to his plastic booth.

If Cole turned face tomorrow or vanished from the show, I would barely notice either way. The guy is no Bobby Heenan, to be sure.

Heck, Cole isn't even a Paul Heyman or JBL.

I actually don't mind Cole that much. I'm bucking public opinion here, but I think he's a decent play-by-play guy, which is an even harder job than it looks.

The problem is he is ill-suited to the role as heel commentator. The PBP guy usually isn't a heel because they are supposed to be the voice of common sense when they call the action, they are the control group in the weekly experiment that is a wrestling show.

Cole at the end of the day is a PBP guy: he does not have the credibility of being either an in-ring competitor or even a manager for a lengthy period of time to be a color commentator. So it is a bad fit for him, and he comes off as a poor (or poorer) man's Mark Madden sometimes.

Oh man...Cole is a horrible play by play commentator. My friends and I used to groan when he'd call matches. He didn't know the names of any of the moves. I remember when Kurt Angle was still in WWE and would hit all kinds of awesome suplexes. Most commentators should know the names of the basic suplexes but Cole would always scream out, "Oh, what a maneuver!"

He was so bad with that whenever we'd get together to watch PPV's we turned it into a drinking game. And, trust me, we all got drunk as hell.

If Michael Cole ever leaves the WWE for something more legit, like ESPN, lets hope he doesn't act like he has a sense of entitlement.

Of course, if he ever ends up at ESPN, he'll kiss Tim Tebow's ass like he does with the Miz's ass, but kissing Tebow's ass would be the norm at ESPN.

Yes, Ivory. I remembered her but I couldn't remember what her wrestling name was.
