Sequels The X-FORCE Official Thread

Yost and Kyle really nailed those stories. This was a leadership role that actually worked for Wolverine instead of having him be the headmaster of the Institute. A covert black ops team for the X-Men during the time where mutants are endangered.

I mean, if you did keep Wolverine/Hugh Jackman around for one more it should be X-Force. That way you can get your whole Wolverine and Deadpool thing out of your system.

I think it's pretty obvious that audiences would love to see Jackman as Wolverine and Reynolds as ACTUAL DEADPOOL together onscreen. You'll tell me that Fox would NOT pony up for that?

Then you can throw in Domino and have her in a love rectangle with Wolverine, Cable and Deadpool. That would be hilarious. Deadpool could make some great jokes about that.

Yeah, I've always been surprised that having one of the most violent Marvel characters in the Marvel universe was so accepted on the X-Men in leadership and teaching roles. Dude has a Punisher and Deadpool level kill count.

The consequences of those actions come down pretty good by the end of Remender's run. These later X-Force characters get tortured morally and physically pretty friggin bad. Hope that's up on the screen.

Speaking of that Yost run I'm kinda hoping that new Hellfire show isn't in continuity as well, so Selene can face off against them at some point.

If you really look at it, MOST of the big time X-Men have done "questionable" things in the past, a lot of questionable stuff. Cyclops, Emma Frost, Rogue, Angel/Archangel, Magik, Gambit, Psylocke, etc.

Few of those are villains who change their ways, or end up villains through forces beyond their control. Not that it doesn' make for more interesting characters, but overall this has always led to a contradiction when it comes to the message of X-Men. Of course humans should fear or want to kill them. Their team is chalk full of villains, characters who cannot control themselves beyond evil forces and people who kill and torture.

There's no question when it comes to Logan though. His kill count and murderous ways is far more significant without being a "villain". Writers point this out with Deadpool quite often. Compare him to someone like Betsy and it's not even close. Remember how she killed Matsu'o? Bit different then what Wolervine was doing to him. His notable kill list is larger then any other Marvel character. But that's why we all like the character, dudes ruthless.

I think in a few years Jackman could return, despite his comments now.

Between Wolverine 3 and my hypothetical XF2 there will be plenty of years that will have gone by that will have afforded Jackman his well-deserved break and will have given audiences time to miss him and want a comeback (think OT coming back for DOFP and the hype, despite the bad feelings after X3 and XO:W).
Ideally maybe...but logistically if they are trying to go more with the new cast as they are setting up for just that. Why then go backward and try including the ot to this already confusing timeline.

If they do so be it i just think there's other ways to do that. They potentially could put the recast more comic accurate Wolverine under a mask and have DP look at the camera and say "couldn't afford Hugh Jackman huh?" It wou be a cool way to also usher in the new actor playing Wolverine.

I don't think Wolverine's place in the present-day continuity is all that confusing. Ideally, Wolverine 3 will also illuminate on this and (based on Deadpool's success), Fox will look to fit itself within the new status quo.

Reynolds & Jackman is too good for Fox to pass up. Your proposed breaking-the-fourth-wall scenario (or something like it) is fine, but I think Wolverine is something that should transcend into the new slate of movies.

Hey the voice actor of Colossus just teased the appearance of Colossus in X-Force. So it's likely the Cable and X-Force team.

I'd take inspiration from across the board when it comes to rosters. Pull from Cable's team & Wolverine's hit squad (replacing Fantomex with Gambit). For sequels, go ahead with adding characters from Boone's New Mutants, maybe a Jackman-Wolverine return, etc.

Cable - Matt Damon

Deadpool - Ryan Reynolds

Domino - Olivia Wilde

Colossus - Stefan Kapičić / Andre Tricoteux

Gambit - Channing Tatum

Forge - Diego Luna

In present Forge can't be 37 yo, younger than Storm?
Benjamin Bratt for Forge in 2018.

My choice for Domino is actually Felicity Jones who is all set to get real big post Rogue One.

My Roster would be

Cable
Deadpool
Psylocke
Domino
Warpath
Archangel
Fantomex

Script isn't written. Neither is Deadpool 2 for that matter.

He's just trying to hype Colossus to be included in X-Force because he plays Colossus. Nothing more.

Cable and Deadpool are the only 2 who are 100% at this point.

Is X-23 too much to ask. I feel she has the most breakout potential to rival even Harley Quinn if done right.

It's weird, but cool, that there's a possibility of seeing X-Force and the New Mutants team up.

Didn't the New Mutants team become X-Force when Cable showed up? I wonder if they will in fact be two separate teams in the movies so Fox can have two additional franchises running beside X-Men (and Deadpool, Gambit, Wolverine, etc...)?

How about Aubrey Plaza for Domino ?

Tim Miller wants to see her fight Deadpool

She'll be a fan favorite when finally added.

They need to be two different franchises because one is clearly going to be R and have a different tone. X-Force shouldn't be New Mutants 2.0 like how they started in the comics. It should take a few of those characters (Cable, Domino, Boom Boom, Warpath) but leave behind the ones that are more New Mutants.

Agreed.

"But if I was to stay inside the Fox family, I would like to see him fight X23. the female Wolverine," he offered. "The female clone of Wolverine. It would be totally messy, but just to have it be a girl against - you know, she’s young, in the comics she’s about 16 or so - but to see a young girl kicking the ***** out of him would be pretty f**king awesome."

Yeah if we are not gonna see Deadpool vs Logan then Deadpool vs Laura would be awesome. She starts off pretty raged.
