Exclusive: Professor X On His X3
Sequel is 'startling' says Stewart

Oh – my – God. As if Empire Towers hadn’t seen enough arm-flapping enthusiasm for one morning with the arrival of the Pirates trailer, we talked to Patrick Stewart to confirm a few details about the long-delayed but much-anticipated X-Men 3.

At last night’s BIFAs, Patrick Stewart, aka masterful bald cogitator Professor Charles Xavier, has said his character will be upping the hardcore ante in the film. Firstly though, he assured Empire that the film was going to happen at all, despite the late start: “Well we lost two directors! But everything was fine when I left the set. I’ve finished my filming now and it’s all looking great.” Phew, that’s alright then.

We asked him about a potential Dark Phoenix plot to the film, to which he looked very mysterious but wouldn’t give anything away except for a rather intriguing smile. (A Dark Phoenix shaped smile? Oh go on…) He did however drop a few tantalising tidbits about Professor X's fate in the second sequel: “You’d need about an hour to hear all about it. There are going to be some changes. Professor X is now very, very startling, very surprising. It’s all very exciting.”

COOL stories and pics! Thanks for posting:up:

P.S: I actually posted that last (3rd) bit already LMason.;)

So they want real snow do they...

I don't think so. They postponed the filming because it was snowing.

From Stevedow's diary:
19th Dec 2005 - 2nd Dec 2005

Wednesday i was back at Tahera, and by Wednesday night i was told that i was working Thursday on the set of X-Men 3 being filmed in Vancouver. It was a night shoot, so i had thursday off to try and get my sleeping pattern right.

I arrived last night there at 5pm and some of the bigger name actors on set were Famke Janssen, who is pretty hot, Sir Ian McKellen and Hugh Jackman. It is a pretty major scene being shot right now and however after 12.5 hours of sitting around in the holding tent, i did not manage to make it on set. I got paid to sit around, eat free food, read books, talk crap with other extras, and listen to music. Notm many of us got used due to weather problems (snowing), however i am back on sunday to continue to shoot and make my cinematic debut. Tomorrow see's me in my 1st daysshoot starring in 88 minutes alongside Al Pacino in downtown Vancouver. Well i will hardly be starring but i will at least be there and be getting paid to eat again amongst othert things. I am not at liberty to say anymore however as i have been sworn to secrecy over the wheelings and dealings of both major hollywood productions. I think i may find it difficult to go from day to night shoots, but as long as i can stay awake i can;t really get fired. Was a strange feeling getting home at 7am this morning and heading off to bed until 2pm.

This weekend otherwise looks quiet again, which is good for the bank balance, a quiet movie maybe, a dvd to watch and an excursion to the gym as i sit and wait the pending outcome of my future here in Vancouver.

Until the next entry, see you on the message board.

Thats a Wrap Ladies and Gentleman

From Psycho's Lair:

I love my life

I'm part of Magneto's Brotherhood Of Evil Mutants but I can speak no more. I had to sign a Fox contract saying I wouldn't talk. So far I've sat around for about 5 days and put in maybe 10 minutes of real, actual work. Most of the time, we just show up and play grab-ass for 12 hours. What a world.

Ain't That Some *****

Well, I didn't get a call time to be back on the set of X3 yesterday. I think I figured out why. It's snowing, actual snow in Vancouver in November! Shocking. El Nino, you've done it again. Caily is thrilled. She's never seen snow before. As a life long Canadian, I find it hard to share in that joy, especially considering this isn't real snow. There's barely 3 inches on the grass and man is it wet. Killer iceballs, though. Hooray, a day off! Though I'm not sure what our three resident bunnys, Sketchy, Roach, and Higgins, are gonna do. I think they scared off the skunk from under the garage. Also, Evan's Bong De France is finally complete and is ready to destroy anyone who comes over. It's quite a nice piece. I got 3 offers to sell me weed walking home with it. Ev's real proud. Did you know I couldn't use the whole word "****" in the title because it's "prohibited language?" In my own ****ing blog, **** ****ing ****s. MSN can suck my balls.

Knight Fall

I got to talk to Sir Ian McKellen (Magneto, Gandalf) on his last day of filming for Xmen 3 yesterday. It was rad. I managed to use the words "****" and "stoked." He seemed pretty nice. Plus I got to run right in front of him after action like 8 times so I might actually be in this movie now. All and all, a good day at work.

Great find as always, retro.

You guys have to understand...we Vancouverites are afraid of snow. We panic and cancel everything when we see one snowflake. Sad but true. :D

Kelsey Grammer told The Continuum he remains hopeful that the Legend of Isis movie, from his Grammnet Productions, will be made.

The film, set up at Paramount Pictures where Grammer has a first-look deal, was announced last December. Ali Russell has written the script.

"They keep telling us that it's too expensive," Grammer told The Continuum.

"I really like it, though. I'm hoping it's something we can get through."

Blue Water Productions' Darren Davis, creator of the comic, told The Continuum he is encouraged with the film's development.

"The new head of the studio really likes the project and they are finsishing up the final draft of the script," he said.

Grammer is currently filming X3 in Vancouver. The first view of him as the blue-skinned Beast will be on Monday when the film's trailer appears online.

Never heard of this project (nor the comic book) before.

I think that that's probably just something that an imdb user submitted. They might mean Monet, who (I believe) is played by someone named Mercedes. Or it could just be a load of crap.

In one hand, I don't believe IMDd because it's made by the users' contributions. Anyone can go there a write whatever he/she wants to.

In the other hand, if this is true perhaps we'll see some students' parents in the Anti-mutant demonstration. Many of the parents aren't aware of their children being a mutant (Iceman in X2), so it would be a great scene those parents in the demonstration and their kids watching TV and recognizing them -or vice versa: the kids using their powers and their parents looking at them half amazed, half afraid. Very dramatic.

Aaah, i see. :o
If this true, why is M getting so much development in this movie? Couldn't they have used that time for __________ (insert character name)??

Unless Rogue steals M's powers in the movie.

I said in another post above that perhaps some x-students' parents are in the anti-mutant demonstration and M -perhaps watching TV news- says something like "that's my mom".

A crazy idea, buy IF this is true, that's the only thing -apart of her mom seeing her using her powers- I can imagine.

I like that!!! I hope Rogue absorve other's powers! like Juggernaut, or at least, Leech, or Storm... Imagine Magneto's powers in Rogue... or Phoenix.. I hope something big for her! she deserve it!

No, M has several more powers than Ms Marvel did, and just putting her in the movie for Rogue to steal her powers it total contrivance and would be a slap in the face of fans.

What we do know, is they are doing a spin off of the X students, so it could easily be a build up to that, so not all the characters in that will be completely new.

That happened in X1. ;)

Perhaps she could "steal" M's powers -flight & superstrenght, telepathy- for a while to see the old comic book Rogue. A hint to her fans.

I wouldn't like to see that, I prefer the non nigh-invulnerable Rogue.

It's not a bad idea actually that very well may be the case. Or perhaps M (along with a whole bucnh of other mutants/parents) is brought to the school for the gifted by her?

Bleh, I would hate that too. Again, too contrived. If they want to do something like that, do it in a situation and with a character that would matter. Borrow some of Juggernaut's strength and use that. Or better yet, if you really want her to imperss people, have her borrow multiple powers, and use them all at once. That's what will impress people, not just giving her powers to make her look like a version of her that isn't relevant to the movies.

I don't like Rogue, but I would hate too they make her just a "copycay" or a bad version of her.
