yeah cos the world blwoing up or whatever is gonna be like "oh no...hang on....i have to wait till december to do it..."![]()
ok....youve took it waaay to far. all im saying is if the world is gonna end it aint gonna be at the end of the year. it will end whenever it does it aint gona wait till december. i aint talkin gbout predictions and stuff
ok i was actually joking about by saying why always december?
Death should be something we all look forward to, think of it as an evolution, a shedding of our current being. This body we have is just the training wheels for what is next on the path of existence. All your dead friends and family are up there waiting for you so when you finally take off to other world they can say "dude, I can't believe you do that s**t in the bathroom, the hell man". Let the good times roll![]()
No problem. Like I said there is historically heavy use of symbolism when it comes to "end of the world" theories which probably goes back to the beginning of human civilization.
yeah i get the historical side and stuff, but if the world is gonna go it aint waiting lol
i think technolagy is gona ruin us eventually.
THE END OF THE WORLD?????!!!

Let I said the end of the world doesn't actually mean the physical destruction of the earth and the end of the world has actually taken place many many times during the earth's existence.
I have read much about your religion and it points on the end of the world Raybia
...until, you know...the world gets swallowed by our dying sun.I don't consider any event the end of the world until Earth itself ceases to exist. The world isn't going anywhere, WE are. The end of mankind.
Agreed.Right, that would be the world ceasing to exist. We will probably be dead before that.

NASA predicts that the Sun will reverse its own magnetic poles during 2012 as result of reaching the end of the current 11-year sunspot cycle
You don't seem to understand. Throughout the ages discussion and predictions about the end of the world have been made.
"The end" has specifically always been about birth, life, death and rebirth. In these discussions symbolism is used.
December is "the end" of the calender year but more importantly, its what takes place in December year after year. Its the winter solstice which takes place approximately on the 21st day in December.
What is the winter solstice? Its when the Sun's position in the sky is at its greatest angular distance on the other side of the equatorial plane from the observer in the Northern hemisphere. Its takes place on the short day of the year or in other words, "the longest night" of the year. Essential its about the birth or rebirth of the Sun.
Worldwide many cultures have held a recognition of rebirth, involving holidays, festivals, gatherings, rituals or other celebrations around that time.
Since the event is observed as the reversal of the Sun's ebbing presence in the sky, concepts of the birth or rebirth of sun gods have been common and, in cultures using winter solstitially based cyclic calendars, the year as reborn has been celebrated with regard to life-death-rebirth deities or new beginnings such as the New Years cleaning tradition of resolutions.
