Zendaya as Liz Allen doesn't strike me as that implausible personally. I know that the popular speculation is that is who Harrier is playing, but since she is slightly older than Holland, I wonder if she could be playing Betty Brant instead since she was older than Peter in the comics.

It be funny if they casted somebody taller than Tom and RDJ to play Peter.
Then again a teenager being taller than adult is common but somehow people forget that.

I still think Emma Watson would have made a great Gwen or MJ.

I think she's too old personally. If they are going for an actual young cast to play teenagers in high school, I appreciate that they are going for younger actors and not people mid to late 20s to play 10 years younger. Thats what they did with the old Spider-Man films which worked, but felt less authentic if that made sense. Plus, I'd rather have relative unknowns and not someone like Emma who's so defined with a mega film franchise

I really don't see what's wrong with men being shorter than their women partners, but whatever. Especially in MJ's case, seeing as how she's a top model and all it would even fit the character.

One day I plan to binge-watch the crap out of this show. Eveybody seems to love it.

I'd be okay with it. I don't think that's who she's playing, but if it is , i'd be fine with it. She's good with comedic timing, and she's got the spunk and personality for it.

  Ehh... I keep goin back & fourth. Her personality really reminds me of classic comic MJ, i'll give her a chancep. I have bigger concerns for this movie (*cough*RDJ*cough*) but I dread the fandom's reaction to her casting.

I'd be so happy if she was MJ, I think she would be great in the role.

And the fact that she was cast so early and is supposed to have a larger role in future films either indicates she's a major love interest or an on going villain and I doubt it's the latter.

If anybody needs to be in a long term relationship with Peter it's MJ. I don't want a new character and I honestly don't give a crap about Liz, Betty, etc. Felicia isn't a major love interest either when you think of Gwen and MJ... she's more of an on and off again fling.
