When I look at her I see Mary Jane. Mary Jane if one of her parents were black, but still Mary Jane.
What I don't know is how good of an actress she is. But it's MS and I'll trust their choices.

Umm.. It's been 9 years since we've seen MJ. We've had more than enough time for her to be fresh in everybody's mind. Liz is likely gonna be in the movie anyway.

Yeah,Raimi's Mary Jane wasn't particularly faithful to her cb counterpart anyway, especially after the first movie. I think it's time to do the character justice.

I agree, no MJ or Gwen in the first movie please. Feige said multiple times that there'd be less focus on romance in this movie than the other 5, and I'm fully okay with this. No more be-all-end-all high school romance sub plots (after all, MJ is Peter's Lois Lane in that we ALL know they'll be together in the end).

I'd prefer it to be him maybe having a one sided crush on a girl which never works out (subverting the 'hero gets the girl' trope as well as playing in to his infamous Parker luck) or have it like his high school relationship with Liz in the 616 comics. I get that people want to see MJ done right in the big screen, but honestly I think forgoing a possible introduction in Homecoming would be much better.

Besides, the infamous Nolan trilogy didn't suffer from having a completely new love interest for the first two movies (heck, TDK is considered the best CBM of all time) in spite of the fact that Batman's most infamous love interest Catwoman hadn't been seen together with him onscreen for years. Give us something new

I'd rather have Peter crush on Liz, get rejected, have MJ be his safety net in terms of the dance (her introduction ripped from the comics), they mingle and become friends (as the film is coming to a close).

No relationship needed. Just give us 616 MJ with a bit of Ultimate.

They always just choose the most famous girl of the year/month when they choose the female star in these films. Rather than choose someone who is right for the role.
