For a religion to be considered a religion it needs to have the set belief in a specific god. Buddhism doesn't, you can be an atheist, a Jew, a Christian or whatever you want and still be a Buddhist. Buddhism is a philosophy.
I figured it'd be for those reasons. Though God does have a place in Buddhism, it just isn't...er, traditional I guess is the way to put it. I wanna meet a Buddhist-Jew.
