Got into this discussion with friends a month or two ago - what would you like to see happen in the final episode? Doesn't have to be a full credit-to-credit synopsis, just a scene or even just a visual or dialogue reference to something else.

Personally, I'd love for the final few minutes of the ep to go something like this -

Clark is finally in the full suit and taken up mantle as "Superman". Montage of him stopping smaller local crimes after the main "grand finale" (whatever that may be.) He's flying around monitoring when there's a sudden ringing in his ears.

Voice: "There's only one being on Earth with less than four legs that can hear this, Superman, and that's you. Meet me on the top of such and such building at midnight tonight."

Right away, you recognize it as a throwback to the first Reeve film, :cwink: but the second sentence throws you.

Midnight, on top of such and such building.

Superman: "I'm here. Where are you?"
Voice: "Turn around."

Superman turns around to see a dark figure with long pointy ears coming up from the top of his head silhouetted by moonlight.

Superman: "Who are you?"
Voice: "We need to talk."

The figure takes a step or two forward. A glimmer of light passes over the figure's chest to reveal a faintly visible bat logo.

Cut to black. Roll credits.

would be neat but we all know it cant happen :(

Somehow, I don't think the Bat embargo would prevent a masked man with a hood with bat ears.

Or do I have to track down Christopher Nolan and strongly "convince him" :)

The Batman symbol would be the one mostly off limits.

Personally, I always wanted the end scene to be a flashforward,

There's a scene of the rooftops of Metropolis, and the words 5 years later show up.

Clark lands on a rooftop and walks over to two people, a man and a woman. He's wearing his costume, they're in normal clothing.

He walks over to then, smiles, and says. "Bruce, Diana, it's good to see you."

Or something like that, and then it ends.

I doubt Christopher Nolan or DC would complain/rage if Smallville decided to end the 10 year run of the show like that.

I mean, there's protecting your property rights, and then there's being a more colossal superdick then Silver Age Superman. "Those are my giant locusts devouring the city, and you can't stop them, Officer."

That would be a very nice end.

I don't want the last minutes of the show to be about shoving in some long awaited cameo. I want the ending to be a montage of scenes showing the future of all the characters we've seen in Smallville, so it lines it up a little with what we recognise as comic continuity with the final scene of the montage being either a lovely scene with Lois and Clark or the shirt rip (maybe even both?!).

well even if its something like that they probably would still not be able to do it. heck we are lucky we even ever gotten gotham and bloodhaven(spelling? knightwing's city) ever mentioned in sv. It does suck when we get block on things like this. But hey its still cool we even ever gotten any other heroes on the show. Some characters like wonder twins, green arrow, etc.... never have ever seen the light of day in any offical live action form.

A cool montage of scenes that would be sweet is having any/all of the heroes we have seen maybe making a quick save in their respective cities and all that.

Maybe not a shot of them all individually, I'd like a shot of them all together in the Watchtower having a good time :)

that could work too and probably would be easier on budget lol.

To paraphrase the immortal words of Darkseid, "Anti-life justifies your hate." :(

I mean, you want them to do a montage of the characters of the show? I'm sorry, but that would be a rather awkward thing to do.

We've already had a shirt rip, even if it's not that awesome, why do we have to have another one, let alone a lovely scene between Lois and Clark. We already have enough of them! We don't need to waste the last few minutes with a final touching scene. What is this, Smallville, or Charmed? :)

I liked Charmed, but that ending keeps making me tear up. No matter how many times I watch it. I don't want Smallville to end like that. Or I'll have to have tear duct surgery. And you'll pay for it. :)

Why can't we get a cameo to pay us back for 10 years of watching the show?

I mean, the only real useful scene, after all this show's disruption of comics canon would be a slightly older looking Clark Kent looking down at Lois's tombstone with the date of death being in the mid 2090s. :)

And then him smiling wistfully and then flying off to save people.

Baring that depressing scene, we could have Superman flying in space, then land on the moon, and turn and stare into the brilliance (not really, it's fairly dim) of a red giant. What our sun will become in 5 billion years.
Yeah, he'll still be around in 5 billion years, and red sun energy won't bother him then either. :)

In the end Superman will be alone, and in a way, I would like Smallville to address this one aspect of Superman that has never to my knowledge ever been addressed.

So, we can finally get people to realize Superman isn't going to die, ever.
Except for Doomsday.

well dave as great as a bat/bruce cameo in any form with the restrictions and block they dont want to get into that mess. Heck we know they tried for yrs for bruce with no go. closest is the whole Ian S thing. But they probably dont want to get into any problems/legal messes. So its better to drop things they can do and just move on to things/characters they are allowed to use. If any bat/bruce cameo could happen maybe just an off hand comment of batman could happen. But even that we dont know is able to happen.

Well, fine, they can have him fly in space and show off his 1337 living forever skills. :)
Seriously, Superman will be able to tell you if the Universe ends via Entropic Heat Death. :)
10 to the 100th power years, before then. Give or take.

Either way, I don't want Smallville to turn into Charmed 2.0. :(

I do not want Smallville to waste the last 5 minutes of the last episode with a tender moment, unless the graveyard idea is used.

I'm sorry, but that would be a big waste.

I just kinda keep hoping that they'll lift the "Bat ban" for the final ep in the interest of throwing the fans a bone. They know the series is finally ending and there won't be a Batman TV series any time soon, so what's the harm?

Well, Ziz, I don't know what the harm is, but apparently, if they do that, billions of people will die. :)

I don't know, but something really bad must happen, in order to force them to never do it. :)

From day one the series has been about Clarks journey, as much as I would love to see a batman cameo that would be too much of an event in itself, and would dominate the final episode.

Things I would like to see, in no particular order . . . . . . . .

- The unveiling of the suit needs to be a pretty spectacular event as this will basically symbolise the end of this 10 yr journey towards becoming Superman. A nod to previous films/tv would be nice - maybe a slow shirt rip, with some epic musical accompaniment, before he takes off into the sky

- lex! Rosenbaum really needs to be in the finale.

- I'd like to see some kind of nod to Smallvilles history - maybe a montage of memories for Clark, from the very first episode up to the last, covering his most memorable moments

It does really suck but oh well nothing we can do about it. I don't want a simple shirt rip/fly by scene that wouldn't be good. We have seen flying we have seen shirt rip. So I want something better then that.

I want the finale to be the realization that he actually didn't kill Doomsday, and that Lex is behind the revival of the beast.

Here's my take on it.

Clark's on top of the DP building in full costume, goes to leap off the building, realises he's not going anywhere, looks at the screen, breaking the fourth wall, hold's up a sign that says, Bye Bye, falls thousands of feet to the ground as we see a small cloud puff hit the ground. We cut to Clark on the ground, who looks up & says, sorry folks, I did my best. Cut to black, roll credits. :cwink:

I may be alone here but I don't mind that Batman isn't going to be on the show, for me he's just become so over exposed that I just don't need/want him to appear. I wouldn't be surprised if they end the show with a scene similar to Donners film either him flying out of the fortress with the suit on or flying in space.

My Ideal ending would be forces of Darkseid making attack.Clark, who has
already beguin wearing glasses to disguise himself, wears the suit to be becon of hope to fight Darkseid. He saves Metroplois.Lois writes article calling him
Superman.Support for the VRA collpases.

Over at Luthorcorp Tess and Oliver get big surprise. The return of Lex.Lex
not only takes Luthorcorp but with Oliver so busy with other things Lex has taken control of Queen Industries In hostile takeover.Lex tells Tess she IS done.Lex announces he Is mergering Luthor corp and Queen Industries Into
new company LexCorp. And He will work on rebuilding Metropolas from the
alien menace(Darkseid and his minions) Lex murders Tess showing his true
dangeras side.

Perry White becomes Editor of the Daily Planet

Clark and Lois leave Smallville permently for Metropolas.

The final scene would be Lex outside his office watching people cheering
seeing Superman flying over the city and Is filled with hate.

*golf claps*

Con I also don't want just a simple fly out of fos and/or out to space deal. That would suck to me and we don't need to copy that old donnor stick. I don't know at this time what I want the very last scene to be. But I hope its a more grand thing.

Some points I do want to see in episode is this:
clark in superman suit most of episode
lex return by michael
see perry white again
good battle scene with clark/darkseid(like clark vs titan/clark vs zod fight)
offically dubbed superman by middle of the episode

Those are some things I can think of right now.

I'd like an ending like Secret Origin.
A final talk with Lois on the roof of the Daily Planet.
A final talk with Lex with Superman outside his window. Lex would say "Our rivalry will be the stuff of legends"
Then Clark flying off as Lex, Lois, and others watch him fly into the camera.

Clark fully embrace his Krypton heritage by revealing himself/his face to the world as Superman. Since everyone will know his "secret", he wont have to hide his human side anymore. He will separe himself from the humans and be able to fly (no more limitation).

However, the whole glasses bug me. I don't know how He still be Clark Kent or have an alter-ego if everyone know he is Superman.

I know everyone has his or her version in their minds, but I think the finale will be an epic episode, a major disaster averted, the Justice League fighting Darkseid and his minions, but the final minute or so, will be Clark returning to the Fortress. Jor-El retracts the crystals blocking the suit, Clark is taking a good look at it... Next scene Clark is wearing the suit, flies off in it for the 1st time, THE END.

P.S. If I had a say in it, I would have a proud Terence Stamp (or even Julian Sands) appear ala Marlon Brando in one, big crystal display. Have him smile at his son, proudly, acknowledging that he surpassed his expectations and that he loves him.

I def don't want to see the suit for one min/one little scene. Clark should have it for most/half the episode.
