I would also like for this team to make one more film and somehow conclude the story with it. I would go for the Sinister Six. That way Raimi would be able to include all the classic villains he adores like Mysterio, Electro, Vulture, Scorpion, Kraven, Chameleon -Yes! I wouldn't like Octopus to return, he had his movie and he was brilliantly done and in the end he made a choice. For the Sandman I wouldn't also hope for a return, but even if it happens I want him to help Spider-Man from the rest in the end. Ok, I know it is not like in the comics, but the films have already established their own atmosphere and characters that must be honored. For the Sinister Six to appear in a film the only logical story would be if Spider-Man is framed (by Chameleon and Mysterio). All that would be a set-up for the creation of a team with one purpose: to defeat Spider-Man. I would like this to happen, because for three movies Spider-Man is worshiped by the people of New York and it will be a real challenge for him if he would be persecuted by them. This movie would be about 3 hours long and Sinister Six would be treated as a team, not as sole enemies who team-up in the end. They wouldn't even be as powerful as the enemies Spider-Man fought in the past. So, I think this works for a film.
If the film succeeds they can always return and do 2 more with the Lizard, Venom and Carnage; the Hobgoblin and of course the Green Goblin.

I want them to return simply because of the possibility that we will get Lizard and hopefully Kraven as the next villain(s). Tobey's Peter Parker character has developed an on-screen relationship with Dylan's Dr. Curt Connors. I can't see a new Peter Parker interacting with Dylan Baker.

I say, if Lizard is the next villain, than bring the cast back to finish the saga with the character that has been set up with the current cast over the course of the series.

Yeah in no way Raimi should end it with 3. No interferance from studio execs(Arad) . I just want to see a more mature spidey flick. With the villain (maybe Lizard) being as important as Peter Parker. Something darker. SM2 went a litter darker but spidey3 was just light fluff.

One more. Peter in SM2 said MJ was going to get married ona hilltop. The third ended with them getting together again and it just feels right for a quick small marriage to end SM4 and that would concurrently flow well with a villain who risks his marriage and family in Conners/Lizard who has an onscreen rapport with Maguire.

I agree one more with this cast wrapping up Lizard and the marriage. Then the studio can do whatever for SM5 after that, though.

I honestly cant see them starting a new trilogy and then change cast and crew part way through it. It would totally change the pace and direction of it, so its best that they have a consistant cast and crew. Thats why i say there either all gonna come back for 3 more movies or have a recast with 4.

However if it was a given fact that Sony was only going to do one more movie and that was it(which i really doubt), then by all means have them return.

I don't think SM3 ended in a way that says "aw, let's move on," but more of "well we have to finish the last chapter in what happens next," i.e. marriage. Lizard is just a fanboy (in all of us) craving right now that works better with Maguire (since Baker established Conners with him) than anyone else.

Things don't have to move in perfect trilogies IMO.

I don't think the Lizard is a best choice for "The End" chapter of the series. After Venom, Octpus, even Sandman (the most powerful of them all) Lizard can't hold a movie on his own, even with Kraven. The stakes are much higher now. The Lizard is a great choice for a film, but only as a minor villain who would help Spider-Man in the end. I still think Sinister Six is a perfect choice for the 4th and for the last we must have the Goblins (done properly). No offense, this is just my opinion

Well Sony wants to make 3 more movies, so that qualifies as a new trilogy and thats much more likely to happen than to stop at SM4 and have that as "The End" of the series as you put it.

Wtf? If anything, the other two villains were sidenote to Harry's story. If you didn't like the direction Harry's plot took, then that's different, but that doesn't make him any less prevalent or significant in SM3.

I was inferring that the plot htreads introduced by Sam Raimi under Tobey Maguire and Kirsten Dunst's tenture be concluded. The marriage subplot was introduced in SM2, expanded in SM3 and feels like it is coming to a head after the Aunt May scene (her last of 3) in SM3. The Lizard is among the top 5 villains and can relate to the story of balancing a familial life with the superpowered quite well.

Sony can still do a SM5- to whatever number afterwards but instead of a whole new set of plot threads I want SM4 to conclude the ones we have now. Then they can continue from there however they want. Sony will just keep churning these out until they are unprofitable anyway. Before we go down that slope I'd like a better conclusion to Raimi's movies than what SM3 was.

It's a big Hollywood production. The studio Executives are going to be there regardless, watching every single step of production. Just the way it works in Hollywood.

I want the big 3 returning & there should be 2 villians. Lizard & Kraven or Lizard & Scorpion. Lizard MUST be in it. Everyone wants him. I haven't seen one person think he shouldn't be in it.
